Round 1 Highlights | 2025 DP World India Championship

Let’s go to the first. Yeah, this is the third shot here for someone Form. Front nine opens with a par five. Back nine closes with one. Greens are soft. However, recovering from monsoon season. Look here at Hgate Campio. Eighth is a par five. This is his third. flags right on line with that TV tower, blue TV tower at the back and he was just expecting that to jump a little bit more though. It’s run quite nicely out the rough and to Nakajima birdie attempt there at the fourth. Brilliant. Moves to six under par 72 here this week. 36 front line 36 coming home. Campio to move to minus six. Another player. Yeah, he’s done it as well. He’s a great maneuver of the ball and he left to right left. massively long but this course I reckon would suit him. 18 years the wait list to join if you if you’re a member or were a member of the Indian government. Oh Schmidt that’ll do nicely. Excellent stuff for [Music] There we go. [Music] Oh, so a bit with the drip. It paid dividends once again. 32 for M. Watched him yesterday and he pulled it down here into the left rough. So maybe he doesn’t like this t-shirt. Well, he won’t like it in there. There’s all sorts of grizzlies to be found. Ruin just bang. Can Can he get it out in the fairway? Can Can get out there. Oh, unlucky. Good shot. That was dead. You missed these fairways. Oh, you are Henry B. Get to the ninth here. And look at Daniel Hillier at three under par. Oh, that’s not bad. Mroy, his fourth now. Can he salvage park after finding the trees left? Wasn’t lacking much. It’s right on top of that little shoulder. And out of his left in the hold the beauty on the last which might just hold him in goodstead. We can call that an under read. Possibly just a little bit of left half on this putt. Not a great deal. So his third drop shot of the day for Maroy. One hole left to play. So now chasing once more Nakajima at the seventh par three playing 189 yds to the flag today. On the right he nearly won himself a car. Top three last week here uh well in Bangalore but here in India to his compatriate Shaun. won’t be keeping the receipt for that one. He’s been working on the range. That’ll work on the course though for Shan. He’s getting back to his best. It was an ideal location for problems. So you wouldn’t back against him making himself a three here. It’s been fun to watch him. [Applause] Two beauties into that. Fresh off a bogey. Doesn’t want to make another one on his home hole. He’s telling it to sit because he’s got that fly that way was talking about. There you go. Contact it needs to take a check. Nakajima for birdie here at the car 58 and that’s a sure thing. He’s back to six under and one clear of the rest here in the DP World India Championship. [Applause] [Applause] One shot gone in the last two holes, but she still 34 for that night. And it goes into tomorrow at three under. Akajima at six under. Second to the ninth. Trying to start it left and cut it in from left to right. Get it close to that right hand flag. She’s done. Look at that. What a great shot that is. Yeah, a brilliant second shot into this ninth. Bit of right to left the middle. That’s brilliant. Only 31 with a drop shot on that nine. Good look. It was success for Fleetwood. Eagle trifle Schmid left to right in it and judged to perfection. Ganji fast putt this one and making it moves to two under par five Chakara a long putter slow here and then we’ll take a left hand turn [Applause] it wasn’t the best of leaves but it’ll leave easy to miss this on the right slightly uphill the last third There you go, Shane. Now he loves a crowd as you see. There he is around the clubhouse. Thousands there watching Donald taking dead aim at this right hole location. Only six yardds over the fringe to the hole. Play to perfection on the left edge. Definitely going to swing from the left. Jolly good. Pablo La Lathabel chance to get to minus three here. Pablo has a a friend in town. Straus young man who um befriended him on Instagram a few years ago. He gets really cute. He can get it close. But just by you would expect this [Applause] comfortably moves to three under Ryan Harmon. What’s he going to find? He’s had his little halfway stop and oh, wouldn’t you just know it? Straight back to that little restaurant. Buy another drink. had his second shot on the 13th. Needs a little bit of good fortune here. Sounded like a decent connection. Well, if that’s it, that’s ridiculous. But three under 15’s a very tight hole as well. You could have a go at the green if you dare with your T-shot, but if you get it down the fairway, you’re only leaving yourself a little wedging. It’s unbelievable. He has seen some shots today, but uh that was plugged as we were saying. So, can he find it here at 15? He’s been very quick out of the gate. Started on the 10th. He’s found another already. He’ll be watching intently. Watch this go in for Shane Larry. You betcha. Is it got the pace? He’s held it. Beautiful. Never anywhere else that was it outside the right and just let it curl in slowly. Good. Follows in Fleetwood. the artist. This plays with a lot of feel. He often hits shots. I like that. Which will straighten this up. He’s going to miss this right off the grain. Grabs it. Cool. What a putt. Well read there from Lawrence. Ganji. Another nice shot in from him and well converted too. Good working relationship. 131 here for Shane. Seems interested in that is the best of the three. Very congested part of the golf course. A lot of waiting for other players to play. And he’s played softly. Po and just massages one into the hole. That’s three birders in a row. Talwa to get back to level par at the 16th. Go on. Yeah. Well done. Well done. Now Eagle attempt here for Ganji. He’ll take his two pups from here though. Bit of right to left. He has Oh, he beat you [Music] [Applause] right 67. That’s pretty even with a great lie. [Applause] Five minutes. This is He liked it and so he should. Looks to me like it wants to be maybe a half a ball outside. Right. To tie the lead. A lap of honor on its way down. And now there are two on top. a master over the years from this kind of range. [Applause] Perhaps still is excellent final last little thrill for the galleries very nearly. Final birdie and a round of 68. 68 it is for shot in the 16th but got it back nicely there in the 80 home 34. An eight under it is for Shane Larry here at Delhi Golf Club. Shane, a brilliant first round 64. Uh, what of all the brilliants out there on the golf course are you most pleased with today? Um, I put it nicely today. Uh, I played nice, gave myself a lot of chances and then started to convert a few in the back nine. It was pretty nice, you know. Was ah, look, it was a really nice group with Luke and Tommy. We we all had a great time and we all played pretty good. So, I just rolled off a few birdies, few more birdies than they did on the back nine and uh, you know, 60 64 is a really nice score. It’s uh you know it’s it’s not that hard when you hit it in play out there but you start missing fairways it becomes quite tricky. So uh yeah I’m pretty happy with that. We always speculate at home how much of a difference a group makes a comfortable group playing alongside your friends but in your own words what difference does that make to you? Yeah when I saw the draw I was really happy really excited you know get out there to to the lads. Obviously we’ve we’ve had some good things happen us the last few weeks and uh it was just nice. Um you know I’ve always loved playing with Tommy. I actually haven’t played with Luke that much in tournaments, so uh but obviously I know him pretty well and um yeah, we all fed off each other and it was nice. How much of that was some RDER Cup chat out there reminiscing? There was a little bit uh yeah, a little bit talking about um you know, we could hear the horns from the from the road. It was it was uh not as offputting as a bet page crowd, but um yeah, there was a little bit of Ryder Cup chat out there, but um you know, I suppose but at the end of the day, we’re we’re all professional golfers and we want to shoot the best scores we can. So, um, you know, ultimately we all want to beat each other, too. So, even though we’re friends, we want to get out there and, uh, you know, shoot a better score than the other person. Yeah, friendly competition is always healthy. Um, and then just a final question on your game, and you said that, um, in terms of putting that’s feeling great. Is everything else just feeling like it’s clicking and coming together for you? Yeah, look, I I feel like um, this type of golf course suits me. Um, I spend half the year moaning about golf courses that are too wide, so when I get somewhere like here, I need to, you know, take advantage of it. And I did today. and hopefully I can keep doing that for the rest of the week. Brilliant stuff. Thank you, Shane. Well done today. To watch another DP World Tour video, click here. 1. One hour since the video dropped and only one comment about Viktors neck?? C'mon you sore losers, do better!

  2. The Delhi course must be a refreshing change after Bethpage. It must be like a pitch and putt to these guys.

  3. Is this woman interviewing Lowry new to TV or something? How many times does she want to put her head in the way?

  4. I’m beginning to think many golf tournaments should not be live the first 3 days at least. Just have a bunch of recaps of various lengths.
