About a year into getting back into golf after 12 years off. Don’t have a handicap but usually shooting around 90-95. Am I on the right track with my swing? Any tips or pointers/drills to improve? Struggled with casting and hip rotation in the past and still working on them but definitely seeing improvements.

    Fist golf tip :

Drop the headphones, hearing the sound of your golf ball and the club face is a ducking good help

People will be mean (these golf subs tend to hate on people who are naturally athletic) but there’s a lot of really good things happening here already.

I’d get into a deeper athletic stance so you can make use of more ground force. You are naturally athletic so if you just practice a side arm skipping rock on a water throw you’ll understand you need to be more squat and stay there through impact. You’re too upright now. I would make just that change first then we could talk about your lag.

A lot of positives. I agree with the headphones comment. Maybe use those on the putting green and chipping area. Again. Lots of positives.

My tip: Practice on real grass as much as possible and use a mat as LITTLE as possible.
