Add another “silly season” golf tournament to the calendar. This one features players who made it big in a different stick-and-ball sport.

The first Capital One MLB Open, chock full of current and former Major League Baseball players, will be held in November at the famed Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas.

Where is the Capital One MLB Open being played?

The venue is familiar, as Shadow Creek has hosted some of these events before, including the first-ever Match between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson as well as last December’s The Showdown, featuring Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler versus LIV golfers Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau.

Shadow Creek is, of course, the ultra-exclusive and expensive layout designed by Tom Fazio that opened in 1990. Ranked by Golfweek’s Best as the No. 1 public-access course in Nevada, Shadow Creek is technically a public-access golf course, but has a reported $1,250 green fee, the highest in the U.S. Prospective golfers also need to stay at an MGM resort to even begin the conversation to score one of the rare tee times, which are limited to just a few groups of resort guests per day, and not every day of the week.

Who’s playing in the MLB Open?

The three-day event kicks off with a pro-am that will pair current and former MLB players with amateurs. Then it’s the main event, a two-day tournament featuring what’s being promoted as a unique scoring system. The players scheduled to appear are: Jimmy Rollins, Tarik Skubal, John Smoltz, Justin Turner, David Wright and Mookie Betts.

Where to watch the MLB Open

TNT will have the action on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 9:30 p.m. ET. The network promises “every drive, chip and putt” during the telecast.
