I was impressed with Sheldon Haudenschild’s professionalism in not mailing it in and focusing on performance to finish out his tenure with Stenhouse Jr.-Marshall Racing. We also hit on Brent Marks heating up, Aaron Reutzel’s night at Lucas Oil, and a Zeb Wise update on today’s edition of the SprintCarUnlimited 90 at 9.

Sheldon Hodenshield shows he’s a true professional. Brent Marks is heating up in high limit competition and we catch up with Zeb Wise in an extended interview. All on today’s edition of the Sprint Car Unlimited Monday 9day at 9. Everybody in the sprint car world knows by now what transpired with Stenhouse Jr. for Marshall Racing in the last 6 weeks. Sheldon Hodenshield and crew chief Kyle Ripper announced they were leaving the team. Ripper was let go after winning the national open. Social media lit up like a Christmas tree and Kyle Puit was named crew chief moving forward. That’s pretty much it in a nutshell. But what impressed me last weekend was how Hoden Shield not only stayed with the team to finish out his tenure. He’s also handling the situation better than I’ve seen some athletes in the popular stick and ball sports. Let me explain. It would be easy for Hot and Shield to mail it in the rest of the season. He already has a new team. He isn’t auditioning for another ride and there are really no expectations. That is except for himself. He showed that a week ago when he advanced from seventh to fifth at New Egypt and 12th to fourth at Lincoln Speedway and World of Outlaws competition. To me, that says a lot about Hod and Shield as a driver and a person. He shelved any feelings he has about this situation and is putting maximum effort into working with focusing on his performance. Sure, it’s what he should do, but that doesn’t always happen. So well done. Brent Marks is heating up with High Limit as he collected the win last night at Lucas Oil Speedway, which gives him two series wins in his last three starts. It was his fifth win with High Limit this season and sixth overall. I like the direction his team is heading, and if they can carry this speed in the next season, they’ll move up in those franchise standings. It was a tough night for Aaron Ritzel who finished second to marks in the main event. He felt he gave this one away by not being aggressive which put him second to Rico Abrew in the midweek money series standings by a single point. There is some good news. He’s only nine points behind Abrew in the owner standings with two races at Texas Motor Speedway looming. Finally, I caught up with Zeb Weise for an in-depth interview on this week’s edition of the deep dive. We wise indicated to me that he did receive calls after being let go by Rudine Racing, one of which he would have taken, but it just didn’t work out. He is currently working at Sund Dollar Restorations, but he did tell me that he would return to racing given the right situation. You can catch the full 50inute interview with Wise on our YouTube channel tonight at 700 p.m. That’s going to wrap up this edition of the Sprint Car Unlimited 90 at 9. We’ll be back tomorrow. Stay tuned.
