EDMONTON – PCL Construction’s Second Annual Charity Golf Tournament, “Tee Off Against Hunger,” raised $250,000 in support of Edmonton’s Food Bank.

Held in late September at The Quarry Edmonton, the event saw the support of more than 126 sponsors, 216 golfers and a team of volunteers.

“This tournament is about coming together as a community to make a real difference,” said Jason Portas, vice-president and district manager at PCL Edmonton, in a statement. “We are incredibly grateful to our industry partners, clients, and friends who showed up with generosity and heart. Their support helps ensure that families in our city have access to the food and resources they need.”

Proceeds from the tournament will go directly to Edmonton’s Food Bank, which continues to serve over 40,000 households each month.

“Attending events like this always humbles me, as they raise not only awareness but also the funds that make our work possible. I had an idea of what the donation might be, but the magnitude of the final announcement left me overwhelmed,” added Tamisan Bencz-Knight, manager of strategic relationships and partnerships with Edmonton’s Food Bank.
