While golf is typically an outdoor sport, one central Pennsylvania business is reimagining how people enjoy the game.
Next Shot Golf, located at 5218 Simpson Ferry Road, Mechanicsburg, has expanded its offerings and its playing space.
As stated in a press release, owner David Klock “saw a need in the community for a place where people could gather and enjoy life together.” Alongside help from his brother, Jim, they worked together to achieve Klock’s dream.
Since opening in 2021, the business has expanded, and the once 4,200-square-foot space is now 5,200 square feet, after acquiring the space next door in the Windsor Park Shopping Center.
“It took two months to build, and 10 months of work on development and construction,” Klock said via a phone call. “We have now moved into the space next door, taking down a wall.”
With the expansion, Next Shot Golf has added a putting green, a fifth golf simulator for lessons, and more space for a full-time staff dedicated to assisting customers. They have also added more swing cameras to track all the “nerdy,” analytical golfing stats.
“It’s an indoor golf simulation, you can play courses and take driving lessons,” Klock said. “It’s somewhat entertaining, but also has all the nerdy analytical stuff, while being an environment where you can spend time together.”
In celebration of the expansion, and the fact that the store initially opened in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the store will host a “Grand Opening Celebration,” from Oct. 17-19.
The weekend event will kick off on Oct. 17 with a ribbon-cutting at noon, and will include free food, free 30-minute lessons, 15% off used clubs, a putting contest, giveaways, and more.
