Tiger Woods announces his seventh back surgery.
There is no timeline for a potential return.
That’s the news we got yesterday, which obviously had everybody a little bit shocked as we try to figure out some way that we can get to enjoy more Tiger in our lives.
Joining us now is Dan Wolin; he’s gonna talk a little bit about college football in a second.
Joining us now on the show.
But Dan, let’s start with that.
Dan is senior writer for Yahoo Sports.
First, what was your reaction to seeing the Tiger news?
Yeah, I mean, I obviously feel bad for him to have to go through yet another surgery.

Obviously, his body has just completely broken down at this point.
And, you know, for me, like, you kind of wonder, what’s the point of all this?
Why are you trying to continue to come back when you’re not gonna be able to compete and it just seems like you’re causing yourself a lot of pain with all these rehab stints.
My guy, we’ve seen you win a lot.
We don’t need to see you anymore.
I went to that point.
I mean, yeah, we’ve seen him win so much that I don’t even remember a time before Tiger Woods.
It would be crazy to think about a game of golf without Tiger Woods.
So at 49 years old, is Tiger Woods done?

Yeah.
Look, Tiger for a long time said, I’m not interested in the senior tour.
I’m not gonna do that with the 50 and up crowd, but he seems to still be driven to compete in some way.
So I would not be surprised if at some point you see him play the Champions Tour, where the distances are shorter and you don’t have to walk as far.
Obviously, the competition is not like it is on the PGA Tour.
Let’s be real.
I mean, he may have a ceremonial spot in the Masters or the British Open or the US Open, but he’s not gonna compete at that level anymore.
Those days are over.
He just physically can’t walk 72 holes, and it’s not even a golf swing thing.

At this point, but, you know, can you get out there, play a 54-hole tournament, maybe a little bit more fun and less competition.
Yeah, it’s possible, but I almost wish he would have just shut it down after he won the Masters in 2019.
That would have been an unbelievable way for him to end his career.
And I just hate to see him having to go through all of these surgeries and the rehab, and it just gets so much harder as you get older.
