Most EXQUISITE Course I’ve EVER Played
Welcome to the Katansic Club. [Music] Welcome to the Katansa Club. I am so excited to play this course. I’ve heard so much about it, as you know. I love the logo. We’re going to have a fantastic day out here. I’ve got two iron off the first TE. Wind down off the left. Thanks. We’re off. Thanks. 61 to the flag. 61 to the flag. Okay, we got nine iron out of the rough. Just playing in the middle of the green here. Yeah, I really took it. All right. [Music] Thank you. Easy. Four. Got a little three. Yeah. Second hole here. So, it looks like it runs out of fairway. I’m going to have two iron. It’s downwind. I could probably hit this probably 250. [Music] Okay. I don’t know. It’s probably why we hit two iron. This is 154 to the middle. So, that pin’s really back there. Get it up and let it get go in the wind. I know. I just don’t see how I could hit pitching wedge here, but it might be a pitching wedge. That fin’s way back there, too. So, you know that there’s green up front. Yeah, you have green in front. Wind’s helping it though. Yeah, you’re fine. Oh. Oh, rolled off the back a little bit. Is there a back roll off? Yeah, a little bit. [Music] Oh wow man. Hard hard lip. So, we’re on the third hole here, and Katansit has these great wooden TE’s here, two blue lines, and then the ball marker is also iconic with the uh the logo. We’ll go 1922 founding. All right. 1 what is it? 142. Yeah. 143. 143. Um wind is off the left. I’m going to have nine iron here. Hit a good one. That looks really good. Great ball. All right, we’re dancing right next to each other. Little katanset action. Let’s see a bird on number three. Get in. Oh, I gave it a run. Yeah. No one’s going to say you never gave that one a run. You sure did. All right, fourth hole here. That three putt was quite disappointing. Got driver here. Short par4, but it’s into the wind. Uh, got to hit a low penetrating cut here. Oh, Galve shot. That’s really nice. Sit. Be short. Right in it. I Are you in? Yeah, it looks to be 130. I got pitching wedge. Oh, Jake, that’s really nice. Loft. Oh, stay up. Ah, man. Just fell off the back. That was a pretty good shot. This is a spicy little shot. That’s what I was afraid of. God. That’s why I don’t do that, Jack. Don’t do what? Take this 58. No, you’re good. Don’t worry about it. Nice putt. Thanks. All right. Beautiful little par4 here. meanders along the marshland. This course is surprising me. It’s it comes off the water and it’s it’s a it’s a tremendous feel. I don’t know how to describe it. I don’t know if I’ve played a course that feels like this before. Got two iron here right at those trees. Great ball, Jake. Thanks. Oh, that’s so nice. Right where you wanted it. Yeah, it’s perfect where I wanted it. in the right place. Oh, okay. We got a heck of a putt here. I mean, this is I don’t I’m hitting it way high. It’s up and then it’s down on the wrong side of the spine. Oh, sit. Slow down. I mean, okay. Hit it that pace right at it. It’ll go right in. Nice putt. Thank you. Here we go. [Music] Got [Music] the two iron again. A lot of two iron so far. 385 par4. Got a group of little uh chocolate drop moguls out there on the right. Love that. Stay right. Oh. That is not good. Found myself here in the left and got some stuff here. But I’ve got a shot. I have a shot. Not Not what we wanted. All right, we’re on the green. I mean, good roll, dude. You got to hit that like 10 ft left. Nice putt. Thank you. [Music] [Music] Seventh hole here, par five. Tucked back here in this beautiful part of the property. You got the water to the right, Cape Cod in the distance. Very peaceful. Very peaceful golf course. Oh, that’s a great golf shot right there. Thank you. Nice shot, Jake. That’s the one. That is the one. It’s the one we’ve been waiting all day for. Yes, sir. I just think that if I I can’t go long. I’ve learned that today. I got to hit this four iron. And it might come up short, but you’re better short than long. Yep. That’s right at it. A little right, but that’s going to be right on there. Wow. God dang it. What the hell was that? Sto right. Get there. A good bit. How are you not sweating? [Music] 186. Beautiful par three here. Look at this hole. Great looking hole. I got a sixiron. Stay there. Stop. Stop moving. Right. Bogey dust. That’s such a nice out, huh? Uh, caught a little more of the hill than I thought. There’s no justice in this game, Jake. [Music] Nothing. Yeah, he great ball. Yeah, really nice ball, Jake. Thanks for shot. Nice ball, Jake. What does it look like from down there? I got something in my mind. It looks like the hill is going to try to push it to my right, your left. Yeah. You You come down a hill. See this pitch mark right here? Just short of just before that, it’s going to start to pick up pace down the hill. That’s so good. That’s so good. Go in. Oh, great bid. Wow. It’s a tough front nine. Not scoring too well. But I’ll tell you what, this place is in tremendously good condition. The greens are perfect. Conditioning the course is perfect. And I had been shocked by kind the design here. I did not expect it to be weaving in and out of kind of the woods, but it it does not feel closed in. It feels open, but it is in the woods. And there are a lot of unique features, a lot of subtle mounding, a lot of uh rocks left over here from, I don’t know, glacial movement. Maybe I’m making that up, but it looks like that. And it’s just it’s a really fun course to play. It’s just fun. I think that’s the best way to put it. Even though I’m making big numbers, it’s still a lot of fun shots. [Music] Great ball, J. Thanks. 106. Uh, this is a great hole. I really enjoying this hole. It’s a short little par4 that presents kind of a a mini hazard with these mounds in the middle. Very cool hole with this bunker up front with the eyelash uh grasses. Great one. Got 105 with a sand wedge. Oh, that’s all over. It should be good, right? Great shot, Jake. Thank you. That nice putt. [Applause] We’re all sorry. Oh man, we’re in quite the spot here. Oh, Jack, am I on the green? No, but you can putt it. Is that off still? Uh, that’s really good, Jake. That’s just such a tough spot to be. Love that. Nice ball. Jake, that’s a really nice looking ball. I cannot see it. Uh, move it a little right. I have no clue where that went. But I think I I hit this side, right? Oh, Jack got go in. Ah. [Music] Great ball, Jake. Leaking a little left, but I think you’re going to be fine. Yeah, that’s a nice shot. Very nice. A lot of wind in your face here. You might want to play it a little bit more than that. Yeah, I got seven. Yeah, that’s I I like that for you from here. Oh my goodness. I lost it. It looked good off the stick. I have no idea. There you go. Nice putt. [Music] Dude, you and I both won. What is the number? 167. It was like almost 170. Yeah. might be able to get something. Jake, that’s such a great chip. Really, really, really, really nice. Is it on the green? Really good up and down. Thank you. They’re [Music] watching. They’re ready for it. Oh, baby. Oh, that was really pretty. Thank you. Great ball. Beautiful. Do you care for it? I care for it. There you go. I care for it. 260. Got threewood into the wind. If I hit this really good, might be able to get to the front. That’s the goal. 20. Thanks. It’s a great ball. Should be at the front. Yeah. Yeah. [Music] All right, 16th hole here. The more I play this course, the more I’m reminded of Shinik. William Flynn designed Shinik designed this course. There’s a lot of similar looking things, especially green complexes. This is This looks like a hole from Shinik. Beautiful hole. Golly. Oh, great ball, Jake. That’s perfect. Thank you. Right down the middle. Right down the middle. 20. A little helping wind off the right. I’ve got 50°. You have a tractor there. It’s probably 125. That’s a really nice golf shot there. Land soft. Great shot. Great putt, Jake. Get down the fairway. You got room over there. You got room. You’re going to be fine. Oh, it’s perfect. Be right. Be right. I think it’s right. And like it did not go anywhere. Oh, good bid. Oh, that’s a great ball. Nice ball, Jake. That’s going to be really, really good. Oh, just short. Nice shot. Well, I didn’t play as well as I’d like, but I had a tremendous day. This is one of the best golf courses in the world. This is a truly special place. I know I say that a lot. I’ve been playing a lot of truly special places, but this is this is really a great golf course. The design is one of a kind. It’s truly golden age and there’s a lot of William Flynn characteristics which I have found that I personally love. So, uh, this has been a great golf day. It’s going to go right and then up like that. Yeah. I’d almost hit it on on the straighter side. You know what I mean? Yeah. That’s a really really really really good putt. Thank you. Great four.

Absolutely striping it off the tee. Just not scoring, but great birdies down the stretch. Incredible par save on 14
Great putts on the front 9 that just wouldn’t drop. As they say, you was robbed ! Nice group of guys you played with. Enjoy seeing great courses that I and most will never play. Thanks
Why do you set up so closed on chip and pitch shots?
That 2nd approach and green to third hole, and then 4th tee is some of the most scenic and unique golf I've ever seen. Curious, more of a local or national/vacation home membership there? Thanks, and great stuff.
REALLY REALLY NOICE!!!!
Mic’d up guy kept telling you “really really good” and you were missing the green
Wow Jake what a beautiful golf course , and last week at Hudson was also incredible. You’re playing tremendous golf ,keep it up!! All the best you !!!!!!
Hole 3 is WILD
What driving iron spec do you have? Things a weapon
Let’s get you up to RI next year. I play out of Wanumetonomy. Seth Raynor course
The last 2 courses have been something else! Stunning.
Jake is a +1 hcp. he doesn't need to hear "great shot" every time he swings. love the video and the course but that got annoying.
Par save on 14 may have been the best of the day!
Absolutely fire content! Best on golf youtube
I've had the pleasure of playing this spot a bunch, you got the quintessential Kitty experience. Smiling ear to ear while getting your face bashed in. My read on the place, if you were a member you would either quit the game or become an extremely good player. No in-between. Hope you stopped and looped Marion Golf Club while you were here.
