I am in need of any ideas to repair the bottom hem of my retractable screen. The weight bar is in the pocket below the stitching, and the tear is right above where the stitching meets the hem and screen. I can try sewing with some heavy duty thread. Was wondering if anyone has tried a patch, or a patch combined with stitching to reinforce the tear. Other than the tear, the fabric in the impact area is in great condition.

This happened to me in a few spots. I bought some adhesive impact screen patches of amazon (i think) and added some upholstery glue to reinforce it around the edges. Has been holding up.
