The DP World India Championship 2025 will tee off at the Delhi Golf Club in the national capital on Thursday.
The event – scheduled to run from October 16 to 19 – will be the most lucrative golf tournament ever held in India. Live streaming will be available.
The tournament marks the eighth of nine events in the ‘Back 9’ phase of the 2025 Race to Dubai, leading into the DP World Tour Play-Offs and the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in November.
Grand Slam champion Rory McIlroy will make his long-awaited debut in India.
The 2025 Masters winner, who completed his career Grand Slam in April, has already won twice in the Race to Dubai this season and will look to consolidate his lead heading into the Play-Offs.
McIlroy will be joined by fellow Ryder Cup winners Tommy Fleetwood, a Paris 2024 Olympic silver medallist, Viktor Hovland and Shane Lowry, while their captain Luke Donald, also tees it up this week.
From the US Ryder Cup team, Brian Harman and Ben Griffin add to the global flavour. They’ll line up alongside recent DP World Tour winners, including Michael Kim, Thriston Lawrence and French duo Martin Couvra and Adrien Saddier.
Olympian Shubhankar Sharma will front the home challenge, with more than 20 Indian golfers in action.
Sharma, a two-time DP World Tour winner, is currently 185th on the Race to Dubai Rankings. He will look to rediscover form after a difficult stretch on tour and secure his card for next season.
The Indian challenge will be spearheaded by 18-time global winner Anirban Lahiri, seven-time global winner Shiv Kapur and Veer Ahlawat, who secured his 2025 DP World Tour card by finishing atop the previous season’s PGTI Rankings.
This will be the DP World Tour’s first visit to Delhi Golf Club since 2016. The venue hosted the Tour’s first-ever Indian event, the Indian Masters, in 2008, and later the Indian Open in 2015 and 2016.
