The world of golf has been left reeling by news of Tiger Woods’ latest surgery, prompting speculation over what it means for his future in the sport. It comes after another PGA Tour veteran announced his sudden retirement.
The PGA Tour has welcomed 20 new card holders, receiving a message from Justin Thomas, but many are concerned Woods may not be seen on the course again.
Meanwhile, the DP World India Championship this weekend sees a host of Ryder Cup stars back in action, including Team Europe captain Luke Donald. And one of the USA’s top stars, Bryson DeChambeau, has released a big challenge of his own, facing off against NBA superstar Steph Curry in his latest video.

‘Feels like the end’ for Woods
Tiger Woods announced that last Friday he had yet another back surgery. Woods had lumbar disk replacement surgery to mark his seventh back surgery of his career, and golf reporter Dan Rapaport conceded that “this feels like the end” of Tiger Woods’ career.
Woods had already been sidelined for the entire 2025 campaign because of his Achilles, and had to miss the Masters twice because of the lengthy list of injuries. This is now Woods 33rd injury, and many fans are also worried that his career should end here.
Rapaport said this about Woods and what the future looks like for his career.

“This feels like the end. And I know what you’re thinking, it’s been the end. I’m just telling you how I feel. This one hit me at the end. I feel like his body is breaking down.”
Luke Donald loses sleep over Ryder Cup
Luke Donald admitted that due to the preparation and buildup to the Ryder Cup, he endured many sleepless nights, and even said he would dream about oddly specific parts of the tournament.
“The captaincy really does — the lead-up to the Ryder Cup, you’re spending five or six weeks just thinking about all kinds of different things, partnerships, pairings, the golf course, the gifting. There’s just so much that goes into it that your mind is kind of clogged,” said Donald.

Donald mentioned that he would even dream about losing specific items.
“I’ve had many nights where I’ve woken up with Ryder Cup dreams and things where I had forgotten my radio one night and there’s still one game out on the course and I was panicking and I was trying to get to the game.”

DeChambeau challenges Curry
Stephen Curry has changed the face of basketball throughout the years, as many can say the same about Bryson DeChambeau and his golf game. However, there is a reason DeChambeau never touched the basketball court as a professional.
Curry and DeChambeau played a quick 1v1 game, and Steph clearly showed why he’s an NBA MVP and why DeChambeau just played in golf’s biggest tournament, as he absolutely drains the first shot from far out leaving DeChambeau in the dust.

The two seem to have friendly fun competition during the game, and we can probably expect to be seeing something on DeChambeau’s 2.1M follower TikTok or his 2.5M subscriber YouTube channel here soon.
Curry finishes off the video by saying “Come on, Bryson. Let’s get out of here.”
