LIV Golf Adelaide, in partnership with the South Australian Government, has confirmed a long-term venue strategy for the tournament, securing its future in the state until at least 2031.
The new rotation plan will see the tournament move to Kooyonga Golf Club in 2027, following the previously announced 2026 event at The Grange Golf Club.
The decision to rotate host venues is underpinned by the LIV Golf Adelaide’s immense economic success, having already generated more than $217 million (£105m) in economic benefits for South Australia in its first three years. The most recent tournament alone generated a record-breaking $81 million (£40m) and welcomed over 100,000 fans across three days.
LIV Golf’s other events outside of the US have been less economically profitable, with the company having recently reported a $462 million (£350m) loss on international events staged in 2024.

Kooyonga Golf Club, widely recognised as one of South Australia’s premier private championship courses, has been selected to host the 2027 event. The club has previously hosted multiple editions of the Australian Open and state championships, and held The Women’s Australian Open in 2018.

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas noted the significance of the event and its long-term commitment to the state. He said: “LIV Golf Adelaide has been an economic success for our state, delivering more than $217 million in economic benefit in its first three years, and helping to cement South Australia as a national and global destination for major events. Securing Kooyonga Golf Club as the next host venue continues that momentum, bringing visitors, jobs and investment into our economy while showcasing Adelaide to viewers across Australia and around the world.”
Looking even further ahead, work is continuing on the redevelopment of the North Adelaide Golf Course, which is set to transform it into one of the world’s best public golf courses and become a host venue for LIV Golf from 2028.
