Donald and Kai Trump took part in a YouTube video
Who better to get life advice from than the Commander-in-Chief himself, President Donald Trump? His granddaughter invited him to take part in a video shared with her millions of YouTube subscribers, in which the pair gives fans a glimpse into their relationship.
In the video, which has since racked up over two million viewers, President Trump, 79, and Kai hit the green for a round of golf. The duo discussed an array of topics in between holes, with one conversation prompting Kai to ask her grandad what the best piece of advice he’d give someone.
As Trump drove the golf buggy, he answered Kai’s question, declaring, “To love what you do. You gotta love what you do. Otherwise, you are not going to do it well.” Keen golfer Kai chimed in, “I agree with that.” It comes as the president gushed over his 28-year-old press secretary Karoline Leavitt’s lips.

Away from dishing out advice, the President also set the record straight. At one point in the video, he squashed rumors that his son Barron is struggling at NYU.

Barron, 19, recently moved from Manhattan to attend classes at NYU’s campus in Washington, D.C. Shortly after the move, reports emerged that the teen, who reportedly stands at six feet nine inches, was having difficulty settling in at school.
Kaya Walker, the former president of NYU College Republicans, told Vanity Fair that Trump’s youngest child was an “oddity,” who “goes to class” and then “goes home.” However, while golfing with Barron’s niece, Trump insisted that his son is doing well at school.
Earlier this month, the Daily Mail reported that Barron had been branded as “weird” and “awkward” by his peers, with many saying that he “doesn’t talk.”

“How’s Barron doing at NYU?” Kai asked. “Good, he’s doing good,” Trump replied before adding, “He’s a good boy. He loves you. He said, ‘Say hello to Kai, Dad,'” Trump continued. “I said, ‘Why don’t you come out and watch [them play golf]?’ He said – She’s so cute.”

Kai, Donald Trump Jr’s eldest child, asked her grandfather when Barron resumed classes, and the president told her that his son starts on “Tuesday.”
While the video gave fans a glimpse into Trump’s more nurturing side, California Governor Gavin Newsom slammed the president for taking time to play sports while a government shutdown is in effect.
“He shut down YOUR government,” Newsom wrote on X/Twitter. “He increased the cost of YOUR health care. He raised YOUR taxes, while cutting taxes for billionaires. Now he’s golfing.”
The shutdown has nearly entered its second week, as Republicans and Democrats clash over Trump’s proposed cuts to Medicaid and Affordable Care Act subsidies.
