my brand new driver versus a 25-year-old tightless driver. We’re going to find out how much distance has been lost, if any, over the past 25 years. So, starting with my driver, this is the Cobra DS Adapt LS, and this is currently playing 9°. And we got the Ventus 6X shaft. We’re comparing it to this classic, the Titus 975J in 7.5 with a 60 g SX Flex. This thing was one of the most popular drivers on tour. Okay, so we’ll start with my driver. We’ll hit three. We’ll get a little, you know, best and average. See what numbers we get. Maybe a tad spinny. Yeah, typically up around the 185 ball speed. [Music] That’s a Healey spinner. Okay, that was terrible. 290 178 ball. We’re looking for 185 with around 315 320 carry. Well off the bottom. Okay, that’s bit more like it. We’ll take that indoors. So, 307 carry, 182 ball, 28 spin. A little high, but let’s compare that to this absolute beauty. This is like a proper pro setup. 7.5°. This has been what, you know, the big hitters on tour at the time would have been using I guess like Cabrera in his young days. Davis love the third. I’m sure Tiger probably had one of these. Let’s see what we can get out of it. See how much distance has been lost. My taste. Wow. That’s come out low. Look at the spin. 2277 ball 308. Wow. Nate 296 carry 179 ball speed. Might put this in the back. A big thanks to Covert Caddy. I’m actually down filming at their facility today. All of these golf clubs are going to be available on Covert Caddy website. I’ll link their socials. Right, one more. See if we can knock a carry out there. We’re over 300. Oh my. That is a joke. That’s pretty much it’s what we lost about 1 miles an hour. 2 miles an hour maybe. Plus, this is shorter. So, if we’re looking at just distance, is there a massive difference? No.

The only major difference is new drivers today won’t still be playable in 25 years. They make them so thin I’d be shocked to see anybody who can swing at your speeds keep one driver longer than a few years before they crack a face.
NONE! It's all marketing BS! I owned my nCleveland irons from 1998 until 2010 bought new better more distance Cleveland irons and didn't lose or gain 1 yard of distance
Sounded sweet as well !
Really looks like you've smoothed your swing out since the last time I watched. Nice.
I still use my Tour Edge Exotics Driver I bought in 2006, I also have the Tailor Made M6, they 13 years apart but I still hit my TE as long as my TM sometimes longer even.
I use Your Edge EX1 irons that I've had since 2006 as well, just as good as any latest models.
It's all Marketing BS at the end of the day.
Why in still playing my M2 .. 4/5 hcp.
Good video i always wondered about this
