DESTIN, Fla. – The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s golf team is competing in the three-round Golfweek Invitational this week. Gustavus opened round two in 12th place after shooting +31 on day one, and though they shot three-strokes better on Monday with a second round score of +28, the Gusties slipped to 15th out of the field of 24 teams.

“It was nice to see that we improved our score today and that was through being very steady with their reaction to encore on course situations,” said Gustavus assistant coach Randall Stuckey. “They did not let a bad shot or hole affect their game. They really competed and you can see that they enjoy playing well for everybody else on the team.”

Addison Longie led the Gusties on Monday, shooting +5 in the second round to move to a tie for 25th overall out of the field of 120 golfers. Teckla Wahlstrand followed with the second-best Gustavus score of the day at +7. Riley Zebroski and Lauren Hubbart both shot +8 in round two with Emily Kolb following one stroke back at +9.

“Conditions look good for our last tournament day this fall and hoping for another day improvement now that we’ve seen the course a couple times,” said Stuckey. “Great rounds from Addie and Teckla shooting in the 70s.”

Up next for the Gusties is the final round of the Golfweek Invite on Tuesday, October 14.
