DANIEL ISLAND, S.C. – Sophomore Will Hennessee (Tulsa, Okla.) shot a 4-under-par, 68, to fuel the Seton Hall men’s golf team at the ultra-competitive Bryson Invitational at Daniel Island Golf Club on Monday.
Hennessee had six birdies and 10 pars in a remarkable first round. He’s currently tied for second among 84 individual golfers. Cincinnati’s Ryan Ford is the current individual leader after 18 holes at 6-under-par.
One of the marquee tournaments on Seton Hall’s calendar this year, The Bryson Invitational features a plethora of high-major institutions from power conferences including Kansas, Duke, Wisconsin, South Carolina and TCU.
Eight teams finished under par on Monday, including Seton Hall. The Pirates enter Tuesday’s second round tied with South Carolina for seventh place following a 1-under-par, 287. Vanderbilt is the current team leader at 10-under-par.
Jack Bosworth (Daniel Island, S.C.) turned in his first sub-par round of the season with a 1-under-par, 71. The senior had two birdies and an eagle on the par-4, No. 18 hole. After 18 holes, he’s tied for 19th place.
Junior Eli Shah (Newtown Square, Pa.) had two birdies and 14 pars to power an even-par, 72, in round one. He’s currently tied for 30th place.
Senior David Lally (Wicklow, Ireland) had a couple of birdies to help spur a 4-over-par, 76, on Monday.
Rounding out the Seton Hall lineup, sophomore Luke Nolan (Austin, Texas) had three birdies in route to a 5-over-par, 77, on Monday.

THE FIELD:
In addition to Seton Hall, the field includes 14 schools: Brigham Young, Charlotte, Cincinnati, College of Charleston, Duke, Houston, Liberty, Kansas, South Carolina, TCU, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Wisconsin and Wofford.
THE FORMAT:
Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.
THE SCHEDULE:
The teams will play 18 holes per day, Monday through Wednesday. Seton Hall will be paired with golfers from Wofford and Cincinnati in round one with Bosworth teeing off first at 9:30 a.m.
