Scoring
The first day of the 2025 St. Andrews Links Collegiate concluded with Princeton in a tie for the team lead with Cal after both teams shot even par as a group on the first day at the Jubliee Course at St. Andrews.
The Tigers and Bears entered the final day of individual stroke play six shots ahead of St. Andrews (+6) and 12 ahead of Michigan State (+12). The top two teams after Tuesday’s play will move on to the championship match on Wednesday at the Old Course.
Thanana Kotchasanmanee is one shot back in the individual medalist race after shooting a 69 (-3) to open her tournament, trailing only Ellie Monk of St. Andrews. Kotchasanmanee was +3 after five hole following a bogey on 2 and a triple bogey on 5, but she then found her game to the tune of three birdies in a row on 6, 7, and 8 followed by three more birdies on 10, 11, and 12.
Duan’s day was about as even as an even-par round could go. She parred her first 11 holes before a birdie on 12. A bogey on the 15th gave that shot back and she turned in a 72 to start her tournament with 16 pars.
The same was true for Luna Lu who bogeyed the first hole and then parred each of the next 17 to finish one over for the day.
Abra Richmond’s one-over round included three birdies, while Caiyi Flora Zhang had five birdies in her round — including one at the last to help the Tigers stay tied for the lead.
