Phoenix Invitational – Live Scoring (Golf Genius)

Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina men’s golf plays its final event of the fall schedule on Monday and Tuesday, traveling to the Piedmont for the Phoenix Invitational, hosted by Elon at the par-71, 6,871-yard Alamance Country Club.

The 54-hole tournament opens with 36 holes of continuous play on Monday beginning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Tuesday’s final round is scheduled for tee times off the front and back nine beginning at 8 a.m. Live scoring through Golf Genius is available online with links at CatamountSports.com.

In addition to the Catamounts and the tournament host Phoenix, the 14-team field includes golfers from Charleston Southern, Dartmouth, East Carolina, Francis Marion, Gardner-Webb, Lafayette, Long Island, Longwood, Old Dominion, Presbyterian, Queens, Radford, Temple, and UNC Wilmington. Two squads, Southern Conference foe UNCG and North Carolina, are sending individuals only to vie for medalist honors.

Paired with golfers from Elon, UNCW, and Temple in foursomes, the Catamount scoring five takes to the course between the first three holes on Monday morning.

SoCon scoring leader Tyler Jones (68.89) leads the Catamount lineup into action this week, slated in the “B” group off the No. 1 tee on Monday. The sophomore transfer is flanked by senior Ivan Ninkovic (70.00), teeing off in the “A” grouping off the first tee, followed by third-seeded Andrew Korytoski (72.00), who collected SoCon Men’s Golfer of the Week honors back on Oct. 1.

Rounding out the Catamount side are junior Jace Butcher (71.44) and freshman Charlie Coe (74.50).

WCU returns to the tournament for the first time since 2023, when the squad led after the first day before coming home in second place behind the event host with a three-round score of 21-under par, 831. Returners Butcher (12th-t), Ninkovic (30th-t), and Korytoski (49th-t) each competed in the Elon Invitational back in ’23.
