FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (October 12, 2025) – The Northern Arizona women’s golf team returns to action this week, competing in the NMSU Golf Iconic Classic from Oct. 13-15 in Las Cruces, N.M.

The three-day invitational will be held at the NMSU Golf Course (par 72, 6,420 yards). New Mexico State will host the 19-team event, featuring one round of 18 holes each day with a shotgun start scheduled for 9:15 a.m. MST.

The full field includes: Boise State, Eastern Kentucky, Houston Christian, Incarnate Word, Jacksonville State, Long Beach State, Nevada, New Mexico State, Northern Colorado, Sacramento State, San Diego State, Santa Clara, Southern Utah, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UT Arlington, and UT El Paso.

The Lumberjacks last competed in this tournament during the 2023-24 season, finishing sixth with a team score of even-par (864). Amy Hodgkins led NAU with rounds of 71, 72, and 71 (-2), tying for 10th place. Lizzie Neale tied for 20th at even par (72-74-70), while Ellena Slater and Frankie Dezis each finished +3, tying for 28th. Long Beach State won the team title with a score of -23, finishing 14 strokes ahead of the host team. Nevada’s Leah John claimed the individual title with a 203 (-13).

Most recently, NAU tied for seventh at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic with a team total of +14. Neale led the way for the Lumberjacks, finishing tied for 22nd at even par over three rounds. Hodgkins followed in a tie for 28th at +2, and Dezis tied for 35th with a score of +4.

The Lumberjacks will conclude the fall portion of their season by hosting the Clash at Boulder Creek in Boulder City, Nev., at the Boulder Creek Golf Club from Sunday, Oct. 22, through Tuesday, Oct. 24.
