Marco Penge has risen from background player to Tour standout over the years. Here are the clubs he uses to play his best golf
Since turning pro, Marco Penge has gone from strength to strength, gaining the prestige amongst golf fans worldwide as well as immense respect from his fellow competitors while proving himself as one of the great upcoming talents in the game through his solid approach play and unbelievable driving distance, regularly clocking in ball speeds in excess of 190 mph.
Having grown up in the UK with an Italian father and English mother, Penge played both golf and soccer in his junior years, winning junior tournaments and completing trials in each pursuit, respectively.
Deciding to commit himself to the course over the pitch, Penge turned professional in 2017 after several notable amateur performances, including a win at the 2015 Scottish Amateur Championship and runner-up finishes at the Internationaux de France, Spanish Amateur, and the NSW Amateur.
Joining the PGA EuroPro Tour, Marco won his first title in 2019, the Prem Group Irish Masters, before achieving a final Order of Merit third-place position to gain Challenge Tour Promotion.
Penge’s Challenge Tour saw him achieve a double-victory season in 2023, finishing off the year by winning the title at the Rolex Grand Final, and continuing his professional journey to the DP World Tour for the following season.
He began with a speedy start to his European Tour career, coming in with a fourth place at the Alfred Dunhill South African Championship in only his third start on the tour.
Unfortunately, this form wouldn’t continue, with Marco only just retaining his tour status, achieving a 110th place finish in the Race to Dubai, the final place for automatic card retention, thankfully avoiding a visit to Q-School in the process.
2025, however, would turn into an entirely different season compared to the previous year.
Penge would sprint past the competition at the Hainan Classic to a three-shot margin of victory, and a final score of 17-under, for his first DP World Tour win, signaling that the Englishman was ready to stand up and be counted amongst the best players in the world.
He proved this a month later, at the Quail Hollow-located PGA Championship, after a solid two-under final round left him in a T28th finish, alongside previous champion Xander Schauffele.
He would continue this vein of form through the rest of the year with another championship at the Danish Golf Championship, beating Rasmus Højgaard by one, before securing his third title of 2025 by beating Dan Brown in a playoff at the Open de España in the closing swing of the DP World Tour season.
