TRUE Linkswear has come out with their first spiked golf shoe, the Maven Lux2. They’re beautiful, with full-grain leather, great touches and a distinct TRUE style that should make them a delight to wear. Ryan Ballengee unboxes the shoes and shows off their features before putting them into play this weekend.

For the first time in their history, True Linkwear has a spiked shoe and we’re going to do an unboxing and show you what it’s all about. I’m Ryan Bing with Golf News Now. We’re going to have some fun today. Got this from our friends at True Linksware. This is the Lux 2 Maven. This is their first ever spiked shoe. So, True Linkwear has been around forever. Love True Linksear. Um the the folks there are just fantastic. The Moors, Jason, Ryan’s also there, but uh Jason’s really running everything. They’ve got great apparel. They’ve had great shoes forever, but there’s kind of been a knock on the brand that they just don’t make spike shoes. And when I play competitively, I want to wear spikes. Uh perform better in them. Everyone does. So, I wanted something that, you know, could be Spike, but also have kind of that true identity to it. And talked to Jason at the PGA show in January who was super excited about these shoes and they sent them to me and I’m going to wear them this weekend. Remember guest I’m playing in. But I wanted to unbox them for you. So, in the box, they come in individually wrapped sacks, velour sacks, basically one for each shoe, and there’s kind of a little card here about the shoe, which is great, and then some additional shoelaces. But, so let’s take the shoes out of the blower sack, which obviously you could use for anything else after the fact. So, here it is. This is a spike shoe from True Linksware, their first one ever, which is is awesome. I really love this set, this particular color way. I’m a big fan of dark blue, navy blue. Got that here. You’ve got kind of the tan leather around the upper, which is leather, full grain leather, by the way. So, you’ve got a leather shoe here. Beautiful luxurious look and feel to it. It still kind of has some of those true callouts kind of in the tongue that you would expect. This looks very true to me. Uh, and it it is in terms of design. upper feels very true but with kind of a luxurious uh take on it. You know the back heel you’ve got the heel protector of course you got your stabilizer there. You’ve got the the true links wear kind of symbol behind there. That’s a cool little call out without having to be so in your face about logoing which you know some brands tend to be more than others but true has always been kind of understated. But I think that they did the right thing here in having this on the Lux twos because you wouldn’t expect this from from them. They don’t typically make spike shoes. It’s the first one. So you go, okay, well, what’s this? Then when you take a step and you look back and you see true on the the outsole, then you know, okay, these are true links shoes. So as you saw, you’ve got five spikes up front, you’ve got two in the back, and then in here in the middle, something that you’re starting to see a lot more in performance golf shoes. The folks at Painter do this. I’ve seen folks shoes at Fjoy have this. there. This is becoming increasingly common, but to have a carbonfiber midsole plate. And the carbon fiber midsole plate is meant to be something that’s really strong because carbon fiber is very strong, but also lightweight, but also not so flexible so that when you use the ground in your golf swing, and you do to generate energy, you don’t lose as much of that energy to the ground. It just doesn’t it comes back to the shoe in a good way. you’re trying to kind of retain energy because when you have really good padding like you do here, the Wonderlux padding, which is just feels awesome. And it looks really, really good. It looks like something that actually will hold up over time and you’re not going to have to clean quite as much hopefully. Uh we’ll we’ll see how we do with that once we put it into action. But in combination, now you can have a really nice midsole cushion that feels luxurious, feels comfortable, feels great walking throughout the round while not losing as much energy because it is energy returning foam, right? So you if you return a lot of energy, well then you’re not putting it into the ground. It’s coming back to you. That’s not so good. That that hurts you performance-wise. But if you can still get that luxurious feel of great foam while at the same time still being able to transfer energy to the ground for your golf swing, then you’ve got the right mix. So, you’re going to see this a lot more in performance golf footwear. Uh you’re going to see a lot of I mean it’s in more performance footwear as it is, but you’re going to see a lot more of that. And then just all around it’s a good look. Again, just a good looking True Linkear shoe. Nothing fancy to it. Uh, it does have some really cool colorways. If you check out True Links socials when they post about this, probably about a month ago when they unveiled this uh that this was coming, there’s kind of like an all like like aqua green uh one that I I would really really love. Uh I I tend to wear kind of stuff that’s a little bit more uh over the top than some other people, but this is really classy. It will go with everything that you have practically and it it’s just a beautiful golf shoe. Uh I can’t wait to try these out. Like I said, I’m playing a member guest this weekend with these. Uh if you want to take a look at the inside of them, just for the folks who are curious, you do kind of have that true Lynxswear pattern of their logo on the inside there. Really nice little um little instep, you know, insole here. Try and pull it out here for you real quick so you can see it. It looks good. I mean, it’s not it’s not the most expensive thing in the world, and if you use them more often than not, I would highly recommend getting kind of performance insoles. I I mean, I use ones from Blue Macka, and they’re great. But these do look great. They probably feel very good for for 99% of people, but these are great looking golf shoes. Can’t wait to try them out. But wanted to show them to you in their purest state before I go ahead and wreck them by playing 45 holes of golf over the weekend. And then another 18. So, uh, 63 holes of golf over the weekend with them. Can’t wait to try them out. I’ll give you a full review of these when we’re done with them. But these are the first spike golf shoes from True Linksware. Let me know what you’re gaming. Let me know what you like to wear, whether you prefer spike shoes, whe you prefer spikeless shoes. Uh, we can have a healthy debate about why you should wear spike shoes in the comments section. But either way, let me know what you’re using. Consider subscribing to the channel.
