The PGA TOUR has just five events left in the FedExCup Fall – and three of them are outside of the United States starting this week with a stop in Japan. The Baycurrent Classic heads to a new golf course for 2025, Yokohama Country Club. It’s as important a time as any for those outside of the top 100 in the FedExCup Fall standings to earn valuable points in order to lock up full status for 2026. Past champion Collin Morikawa is back in action as he looks to find the winner’s circle for the first time since this tournament in 2023. Xander Schauffele returns to the PGA TOUR for the first time since the BMW Championship – and for the first time since becoming a father. The nine-time PGA TOUR winner has two top 10s in his last four starts without a win this season. Other names to look for include Hideki Matsuyama, Tony Finau, and Max Homa.

Just cannot miss left. It needs to get down. Oh, very nice. Well played by Schoffley. Shoffley for birdie. Good chance to knock one in close. Oh, it’s on the right line. And Xander has as much firepower as anyone in this field. Certainly, I think can take that bunker on. Well, this just a 3-wood though, so maybe just trying to play it out left. taking that through bunker out of play. Craig, it’s a beautiful game. I think those cancel each other out. Another chance to dial one in. Good looking. That was dialed. Was it ever? There’s that little bit of a back stop. Able to use that. Great play. Shoffly to get to 16. X leads by one. [Applause] Starts towards the center of the green. Not moving. That’s wise shot though with a blind view. Be aggressive. These greens are very receptive today. carrying the right distance. And that’s going to repel down the slope slightly. Uh it’s a good one. Really on line with the flag and avoid that front right bunker as well. Yeah. Well, I mean this group is playing some golf here today. They’re 74 and four under par. All perfect key shots at the 13 go. [Applause] Good positive part there. Yeah, it sure was. Walked it in. He knew few feet out. That’s a bit of a statement from Xander Schoffley too to Max Grayerman. Now the pressure all of a sudden flips. Add another one to the total. Cut it up against the slope in the fairway and down the right side. He a little cheap yardage too. [Music] [Applause] trying to hit a little draw. This starting to turn towards the flag. Yeah, really, really well played. It’s probably exactly where he was looking. Just a little shy of pin high, but just a quality play. You have to be right at this hole as you said from that distance. It is mounding his left. That is going to keep this about pretty straight. Here’s Schoffley for birdie. Wow. Shawley throwing another hay maker. One two punch on 13 and 14. He’s 18 under leading by one. Hey, a magnificent t-shirt. Wow. It’s got to be one of the longest of the day. We’ll be able to check that in a moment. Well, the distance is correct. Yeah. Well, Shley’s given himself a chance to get to 19 under par. Graceman’s going to need to make his makes the task that much easier going to the final hole. Perfection off the tea today, gentlemen. Really impressive. Yeah, and that’s really what he’s done, George, is just made it easy on himself. He’s he’s hit the putts, he’s hit the shots, he’s well struck, drifting out to the right. Should catch the middle of the green, though. Yeah, really all he needed to do just avoid making that big mistake. He did just that. cozies it up there. That should be enough. Shley making the family proud. A winner here in Japan. had his mom, his grandparents, Sander, brilliant 64 today. Listen, you were perfect hitting fairways today. 15 of 15. How important was that to get the job done? Yeah, just uh I didn’t even know that to be honest. I was just uh it was one of those days the wind died down and it was sort of like that Friday. So, I knew I had to to make birdies. And it’s a lot easier to make birdies out here from the fairway than the rough. It’s been a difficult year. No question. You’ve had the soft tissue injury in the rib area. You know, you were looking for more confidence and you said this was the first time in contention. How gratifying is it to get the victory today? Yeah, it’s uh it it feels good. Uh it’s nice to know I still got it. Um, it was a rough year, but it’s uh, you know, my team dragged me through it and and we had a, you know, a longer offseason than we thought we’d have and kind of built a little bit of momentum through the RDER Cup. So, it it’s it’s nice to to finish a W here. Um, I just can’t wait to see my grandparents and and my parents. Well, you talk about your family, the Japanese heritage that you have. Your mother grew up here, your grandparents. To get your 10th PGA Tour victory in Japan, how meaningful is this? It it’s it’s special. I uh I was asked about it in media and I really tried to to stay present and and not think too far ahead. So I um yeah, it’s it’s a really special feeling and and I can’t wait to enjoy this with him. Xandy, you’ve accomplished a lot. This is your ninth year on tour, your 200th start. We’ve talked the 10 wins, the two majors, the gold medal. You’ve just made 72 cuts in a row. Pretty incredible. How would you assess your career through this point? Hopefully I’m sort of, you know, catching my stride. You know, it was um a big learning experience uh with with the injury this year. Um I definitely feel, you know, Michael’s 24 years old. You know, Graceman’s a year younger than me and there’s a plenty of, you know, young young talent out here. So, unfortunately, I do feel like one of the old guys. So, hopefully I can kind of keep my stride going here uh into my 30s. Not old at all. Congratulations. Go enjoy it. He is just a good dude so happy for him
So sick and tired of these clowns showing who wins on the thumbnail before we even watch the highlights
Way to go Xander, congrats on win #10 💪
One of the truly classy and sporting American golfers. Well done Xander 👍👍
When he’s dialed it’s the best swing on tour
So dialed that he had to double check what club he was given after coming up a club short 3:30. Drained it anyway
What drives. A great help
