one particular guy um who is from Trinidad and Tobago and his name was um Brian Lara. To be to be honest, uh I’ll just give you a little insight in Trinidad. He’s the king. No, you can’t say a bad word about Brian. When he first came into the dressing room as a player, he he wasn’t guaranteed whether he was going to play or not, but his ability and talent got him into the team. And funny enough in Trinidad he will get away for anything with anything playing for Trinidad and Tobago. This would have been in the West Indies team now we were taking it to another level. And apparently he came in and put his gear in the captain’s place. So who was the captain at that time? I think it happened to be a guy by the name of Vivian at the time. Oh, Vivian Richardson. Sorry. So then what happened? Uh, his bag I think accidentally went through the door.

  1. Viv always hated Brian Lara because of jealousy Brains talent superseded Vivian Richards all round batting ability and for this reason he never liked Lara.
This is why the world cherish Lara and you hardly ever hear about Richards

  2. Your actions that day is nothing to be proud about. You seem to give the impression that you made a big accomplishment. Shame on you little viv.

  3. Laura was always arrogant and spoilt and most of all too ambitious – wanting to lead the team before his time. All of that led to the beginning of the end of WI dominance in cricket notwithstanding his batting prowess. That proud, patriotic and disciplined team started to crack mainly because of Laura’s indiscipline. Just my unacademic take.

  4. Accidentally Sir , you actually bullied our hero by throwing his bag out the door but anyway I like your sense of humour 😂

  5. Brian Lara is the King of Cricket .He is a legend and there is no one like him.If Vivian was in Trinidad we would have thrown him through the door not accidently.

  6. Richards was easily more demolishing than Lara, who mostly made his name by being a great test player.

  7. I so badly miss 80s cricket. These were all Gods of cricket. Emotions used to be so real and vibes used to be so high. Streets used to be empty in the cities all around during the matches…

  8. Yes, and if Lara had been chosen for the 91 series, I'm sure they would have won the series rather than drawing it
It was very foolish not to pick him at all in 1991, particularly as he played well in a county match scoring 100. This is the beginning of the disunity that has led to this village team we have today

  9. A real insecure jerk. Have heard of numerous incidents. Playing politics with other WI players, threatening to assault a journalist, threatening to kill opposition players etc. These are not heat of the moment incidents during a match, but pre meditated petty behaviour outside the field!
