Football, presented by Old
 Trapper. Beef jerky. Tuesday,
October 7th Jamie Erdahl and Nanci Tsao here in Los Angeles,
Kyle Brandt and a Super Bowl
champion and Willie Colon hanging out in New York City.
 Kyle, you guys have guests
stopping by the studio this hour. But a life lesson learned
last night that if at first you
do fall down, you can still run and perhaps have a game winning
 touchdown. Well done, Trevor
Lawrence. It’s a beautiful message, beautiful message,
 beautiful message. Willie and I
were just talking about the beautiful game last night. I’d
say at about a 9.3 on the
Monday Night Football scale, and there is a one time league
MVP who is like right out the
door right there with the very special friend. And we’re all
going to come in here and talk
about it. All kinds of things going on here. I’m going to go
on the roof. I’m going to take
phone calls. It is a great day to watch. Good Morning Football.
Let’s start the show. You. Come
on. Oh no. Welcome to Good Morning Football presented by
old Trapper. Yeah. Let’s do it.
Gmfb. Everybody get in here on a Tuesday. Very busy Tuesday. A
lot of business to attend to.
And by business, I mean various things that you could decorate
 your condominium with. If you
are a running back or a ball carrier of any sorts in the NFL,
perhaps you will win an angry
run scepter this week. Kyle, I had the great privilege last
 week of hand-delivering a
scepter to an LA Chargers player. That was quite fun.
Thanks for the thanks for the
availability to do that. No thanks to you. You did a
 wonderful job. We’ll talk about
that in a couple of segments from now. And Jamie, we might
have to do it every single week,
but this time I think you’re going to have to get on a plane
 this week, because I don’t
think we’re going to have a Los Angeles based winner. But
 that’s never stopped you before.
In fact, will you be going to, I don’t know, Duval County to
award the winner of Angry runs?
I don’t know, but I know it was for a Monday night highlight to
 get an angry run. Scepter
nominee. I love when you have to throw in the last minute
nominee I did. Let’s get into
it. Let’s roll it. Kansas City versus Jacksonville down in
 Duval County. All right. The
Jags got a different swagger to him. Willie three and one. Got
 to love it Monday Night
Football got to show up Jaguars. But there he is Mr. AFC
 champion early on Patrick
Mahomes. All right this is interesting. Touchdown Kelsey.
We’ve seen it a thousand times.
But there’s all sorts of fighting and screaming. And
Kelsey said what are you doing.
What is it. There’s a flag Mahomes says. We get one yard.
We get one yard. So you’re
going to see a pick here by juju. And they do get one yard
and get a pick Kyle within one
yard yeah within one. Willie you don’t like the play I don’t
like it at all. It should be
called. Well a lot of people are up in their feelings.
 You’re not alone Liam Cohen
though calm and composed. Second quarter. Fourth and goal.
 Oh, no. How about another
really close call? Trevor Lawrence tries to go over the
top. They slapped the ball out.
They call it a fumble. They say it was loose before the goal
line. It is really close. I
think it’s loose, but it’s also one of those when they call it
 loose. I don’t think you can I
don’t think you can reverse it. That’s fair. All right. So they
 don’t get anything. And now
Mahomes is prancing into the end zone through the Duval
 County night. It’s 14 to
nothing. Willie’s thinking about changing the channel I
almost did. No no no no. Stay
with us my friend I promise this was a 9.29.3 on the Monday
 Night Football. Oh, Travis,
come on now. We’ve been waiting for splash plays. That’s the
 rook. What? That is Travis
Hunter, the rookie. They traded everything to get him. He’s
starting to make plays. That is
not the last splash play he’s going to make in this game. But
 it’s still 14. Nothing. What
are we doing? Maybe the best throw of the night. Great throw
 for Travis for Trevor Lawrence
that is Parker Washington three yard touchdown 14 to 7.
 Washington’s first touchdown
catch this season. Now 14 seven still in the third quarter
 Lawrence looking dodging. Guess
who he goes to. Travis. Boom time. That is a big time play
 Duval that’s right. That’s like
they’re back in Colorado and Boulder. He’s mossing people.
 He’s landing. He’s hand
planting. Absolutely beautiful catch Travis Hunter. That’s his
 longest reception of the season.
Second and eight now knocking on the door Lawrence is out of
here. Touchdown we got a tie.
Game 1414 Trevor Lawrence feeling it Liam Cohen feeling
it Chris Jones look at the the
Microsoft surface what it feels like. Look at this. We could
 have stopped it. More from
Jones later. Ensuing Chiefs drive. Second and goal from the
three. Mahomes going to try to
go to juju picked off. Picked off. That is Devin Lloyd
 Mahomes misses. Hunt misses.
He’s down the sideline. Go going 99 yards. Is he going to
get caught. He gets a block.
That’s like Derrick Henry did it for the Titans back in the
day. But this is the home team
doing it in Jacksonville 99 yards. Friend of the show Devin
 Lloyd. Longest defensive
touchdown in Jags history that guys can’t believe it I’ll have
 what he’s having Patrick
Mahomes got fooled on this. They thought the Jags going to
blitz. He steps out of there.
Pick six on the three yard line. You hate to see it for the
Chiefs but they go all the way
man. Big time play by big time player Devin Lloyd has four
 interceptions. He leads the NFL.
That’s a linebacker for the Jaguars. Jaguars winning 21 to
14 Lawrence trying to lead to
that. But no this is really ugly. Take it over. This is a
this is a flag right? Yeah.
Bottom line you’re going to sit here watch watch the bottom of
 the screen McDuffie gets the
interception but Washington gets run into. That’s why
Lawrence is like what the hell
man? What the heck? What the heck, what the heck. And it was
just an ugly play. What do you
think this felt like I was watching the Rams in Saint
Louis all over you. How can the
refs choke on their whistle? Kyle I love this. It’s criminal.
All right 21 to 14. You know
what happens after that Kareem Hunt Kareem Hunt had two
 touchdowns on the night.
There’s one of them. He’s doing the thriller. It’s October.
 It’s spooky season I’ll allow
it I don’t mind it at all. Here we go 2421 after a Jaguars
field goal. Mahomes on a second
and five looking looking Hollywood. That’s a great catch.
Sweet feet. Look at bam. Got it.
It looked like he got it. And he did it. Toe drag swag.
 Mahomes finished 318 yards
Lawrence can only sit there and watch again. Hunt looks like
the same play Devin Lloyd tries
to get him from the back side. Can’t do it. And the Chiefs are
going to go in there and win
this thing aren’t they. They’re game over. Lull you to sleep.
But here we go. This is one of
the biggest drives of Trevor Lawrence career prime time.
Trying to go four and one
against the AFC champions. And this is an amazing throw. Great
 throw. Drops it right into
Brian Thomas Jr who had been quiet on this night. But a
fantastic catch. It’s a gain of
33 yards. Beautiful throw. Beautiful catch. Four plays
 later 37 seconds left Lawrence
on a third and 13. He’s going to throw it again to Thomas Jr.
And we got a flag. Oh finally.
And we got a flag. It is a flag. Willie says finally I don’t
 think anybody’s debating this
one. It was it was a pass interference. That means they
get the ball here and now it
gets really, really, really weird. That was Jamari Conner
 on the call initially. Watch
what happens here. Now that they got the ball on the one
 yard line. 30s left. No
timeouts. Lawrence falls. He falls again. He gets up, he
runs it in and the game is over.
An unbelievable display. As Joe Buck said, one of the more
 exciting one yard runs you’ll
ever see. I can’t believe all that happened in that, Lawrence
 said afterwards. We didn’t have
any timeouts, so if I get tackled like we’re in trouble,
he was just going to try to
throw it out the back of the end zone. But then he’s like, I
got up and there was a lane. He
also was going to try to throw it out of bounds, but he
 recognized there was nobody
around there. He had to do something. He doesn’t just fall,
he falls twice. He fell after
the fall and then he rose, as all of Jacksonville did guys.
 The Jacksonville Jaguars won.
They beat the Chiefs. Look at that record next to the Jaguars.
Never mind the one next to
Chiefs. We’ll talk about that later. Four and one. Four and
 one. Let’s hear from both
starting quarterbacks I always do this. Normally it’s the
 Patrick Mahomes No Lawrence one.
And then we’ll get to Pat. So I mean I’m just panicked honestly
because I was trying to get up
to get the ball out of my hands. So the clock I mean we didn’t
have any timeouts. So just try
I was really going to just stand up and like launch it out
of the back of the end zone.
But then I had a little bit of a lane. So I took it and, you
 know, scored from there. It
sucks. You know, you let a game slip away. Credit to them. They
 played hard. They played hard
the entire game and they got a lot of good football players.
And they they closed it out
there at the end. And so it’s still sucks whenever you get a
lead like that and you know,
you’re not able to hold it through the rest of the game.
Just a remarkable way to cap
off. Cap off week five for the first time ever. And watching
 all these guys quarterback, you
saw Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts all lose in a
 weekend. And Trevor Lawrence
says Kyle just said Rose as all of Jacksonville did. That was a
heck of a quote. Kyle. Well
done Manti. What did you take away from the Jaguars
 triumphant Monday Night
Football? Well, let’s talk about Trevor Lawrence, guys. I
think it was a tale of two
halves for me. When I look at Trevor Lawrence the first half
he had a little bit of mishaps.
He had that illegal forward pass early. Then he had that
 goal line where he stretched
the ball over. That’s a huge no no, but if you’re going to
stretch the ball over, you see
so many times quarterbacks stretch it real quick and then
pull it back. He just kept that
thing out there and hope that somebody wouldn’t hit it. Well
Nick Bolton hits it and he
fumbles the ball. And then he tries to audible within five
seconds and gets a delay of
game. This is a whole bunch of stuff that happened in the
 first half for Trevor Lawrence.
Well then second half comes along and Liam Cohen is in his
 his interview before the third
quarter starts. And he says the quarterback. We just got to
take a deep breath. Well Liam
Cohen and Trevor Lawrence did more than that because he comes
out. He scrambles for his first
touchdown in the third quarter. He throws this bomb to Thomas
Junior on a game winning drive.
And then he has a game winning scramble for a TD. And it
 definitely was a scramble. I’ve
never seen somebody fall down, get back up, break a bunch of
tackles and score and score the
game winning touchdown. So when it comes to Trevor Lawrence, I
 thought he did well in
responding the first half. He looked a little bit
 uncomfortable, but the second
half he looked like he settled in and made some key plays to
lead his team to a victory. So
Willie that was my biggest takeaway. Was Trevor Lawrence
being able to respond in the
second half and lead his team to a win. Yeah, for the Jags,
 this wasn’t about just beating
the Chiefs. This was about making the critics take their
bottom lip and connect it with
their upper lip and tell them to shut the hell up. The Jags
are for real. You win on Monday
night and you play in the fashion in which they played.
It makes you a believer because
we all sit here and watch the Jags before. If they if they go
 down 14 zero 14 down 14 early
in the past they will lay down. This team never lay down. You
talk about the offense for the
Jags. Man I thought it was great to see Trevor Lawrence
and Brian Thomas Jr finally on
the same page. It was great to see Travis Hunter pop off the
tape. He has to get more
involved in the offense. And you look at this defense who
was horrible last year. Now be
the backbone of this team and they lead the league in
takeaways. So when you put it
all together man I think for for most of the league they
used to think wins exist down
in Duval right. The Jags are an easy out. Not no more. This
 team looks like a playoff
contender. And you got to give credit to Liam Cohen man.
Because we’ve all sat here and
watched that clip of him saying Duval. And it was cringe worthy.
The Jags are serious. They beat
the Niners. They beat the Chiefs on Monday night and
 they’re only getting stronger.
So congratulations to the Jacksonville Jaguars. It’s just
a question for us all here I
think we just have to ask it. Who’s ready for that. Jags
 Colts AFC title game baby.
Let’s go I’m just like we predicted Jags Colts listen
 that night for Trevor Lawrence.
That drive for Trevor Lawrence that touchdown I feel like
 we’ve been waiting over four
years for that. We’ve been waiting and we’ve been waiting
and we’ve been waiting. And I
almost think it was almost symbolic in the fact that he
fell first and he stumbled and
he rose and he scored. It’s almost like we’re seeing that
right now play out in his
career. It felt like a movie. It did, it did. And it was like
 everything his career has been.
Listen, it’s been four plus years and a whole bunch of
 coaches down there in sleepy
media market number 32, and no one really cares because it’s
quiet and it’s out of sight,
out of mind. And we were told this was the prince’s promised
 quarterback. The generational,
this generational that that was a big, big, big time drive. Now,
listen, it was aided by a dumb
kickoff by Harrison Butker and a penalty. But I don’t care. We
 have fireworks in the
background of Jacksonville as the number one overall pick is
 celebrating a win over Patrick
Mahomes and the Chiefs, who own the AFC. That is a big, big
deal. And I’m happy for Trevor
Lawrence. And I’m even happier for his head coach. That made
 it happen. Let’s remember Liam
Cohen. This is a guy who is a dude who has always been liked,
 who’s been on 12 different
stops in 15 years of his coaching career, 12 stops in 15
 years. He finally gets to
become a head coach, and within 12 seconds of getting this
 dream job and getting tossed
the keys, he comes to the dais. He tries to say something nice
and play to the local media.
And he does this. Duval. Okay, everybody laughs. Everybody
 says clown. Cringe, cringe
cringe cringe cringe. Ha ha ha ha ha. Cringe. Do you want to
see what Liam Cohen is doing
now? Roll it. Looks pretty good. Let me ask you, all the people
 who are calling him Cringe
Clown. Is your head coach doing that? Is your team 4 in 1.
How’s your team doing? I bet
they suck. I bet they’re terrible. I bet you’re already
looking at mock drafts for next
year. Everything is cringe. You’re so cool. How dare he try
to endear himself to the fan
base and try to go with the catchphrase, he’s a football
 guy. He’s not an entertainer.
Of course it came out awkwardly. Judge him for the football and
the resume. And by the way, the
football and the resume are now getting added to as the guy
 who’s finally going to unlock
Trevor Lawrence, that Doug Pederson, who has a Super Bowl
ring and a statue, couldn’t do
that. Urban Meyer, who’s everybody kisses his butt all
day like he’s God’s gift to
football. Couldn’t do. And now the guy who said Duval, he’s
 four and one, he’s celebrating
in the locker room of a team that just beat the reigning NFC
 champs. Not everything is
cringe. Okay. You know what I think is cringe? Cringe. I know
a lot of you are watching this
right now and saying this is cringe. Go ahead. Anything
 that’s not the coolest, most
hippest thing of all time cringe, cringe, cringe. It’s
one of the worst words in our
society right now. It is limiting. It is redundant. It
 is reductive. It is everything
terrible. If you’re going online and calling people
 cringe, you’re cringe. And if
you’re going online and saying Liam Cohen is cringe, he goes
online and says, I’m four and
one and I just beat the Chiefs. What did your team do? I love
 Liam Cohen. God bless him.
Duval I’ll say it again, I don’t care. Duval. Yeah Kyle
 and one just beat Mahomes
better than your team. What do you got to say now Duval Kyle
 just canceled cringe like just
two of the worst we did I think he did I think it was well done.
 Eliminated eliminated words in
the world I hate that word. Okay. Noted. Taken out and put
it on the list okay X factors
are cringe okay. Just add it to gmfb things that we do not say.
Moving on. Well done Kyle. That
is the AFC South is fascinating. We are going to talk about you
don’t you worry. But we got to
look at one of the quarterbacks that I mentioned at the start
of the show, the Jalen Hurts
led Philadelphia Eagles. Tom Pelissero joining us now is the
Eagles are on a short week
after their disappointing loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
However, Tom they might have to
navigate life without one of their top offensive weapons
 that Jalen Hurts enjoys handing
the ball off to. What’s going on? Well, Jamie Eagles running
 back Saquon Barkley was listed
as did not participate on the estimated injury report on
 Monday. They did not actually
practice. This is an estimation, if they did, of whether Saquon
 would have been out there,
which he would not have. Now, from my understanding, it’s not
time to press the panic button
on Saquon at this point. Our Ian Rapoport reported yesterday
 Saquon was dealing with general
soreness coming off that game on Sunday against the Broncos.
 Fully expects to play on
Thursday night, but these short weeks can be unusual at times.
Teams don’t practice a ton in
between those games, certainly something worth monitoring at a
 time that Eagles offense is
trying to find their footing. Bad news on Chargers running
 back Omarion Hampton. He is
headed to injured reserve, according to Jim Harbaugh, as a
result of the ankle injury that
he suffered on Sunday against Washington. That puts Hampton
out for a minimum of four games
and leaves the Chargers without their top two running backs.
 Najee Harris, of course, out
for the season because of a torn Achilles. Now, Omarion
Hampton is set to miss a month
or more. They do have Kimani Vidal on the practice squad he
 has played recently here. The
only healthy running back on the active roster is Hassan
 Haskins, potentially a position
that the Chargers could look to add to sometime over the next
 several weeks prior to the
trade deadline. Also, bad news on Lions quarterback Terrion
 Arnold, who is out indefinitely
because of his shoulder injury that he’s been dealing with for
 a while and aggravated once
again knocking him out of a game on Sunday against the
 Bengals. Dan Campbell said this
is not going to be a short term absence. He is going to be out
 for a while. My understanding
is this is likely a season ending injury for Terrion
Arnold, but he is still getting
additional medical opinions. Should have more information on
that. For the moment. The Lions,
already without D.J. Reed, now lose Terrion Arnold, who has
 been covering opponents number
one receivers more often than not since he was a first round
 pick last year. Jamie. That’s
too bad, Tom. Appreciate you get back to us if anything
changes. Until then, we have a
former NFL MVP just hanging around the offices in New York
 City. Kyle and Willie are
currently setting more chairs at their dining room table, so
Cam Newton can sit down and
talk with the guys, plus Ashley Moss. They’re coming on to talk
about their new show, man. See
what else we got this hour. I wonder if he’s going to take
him to the terrace. Oh, the
angry terrace. Angry runs. Terrorists. Show them the place.
Yes. Kyle Brandt has done some
spectacular things on the terrace. He’s got a rock metal
 guitar player. Maybe he’ll take
Cam Newton up there. We’ve got angry runs next. You don’t want
to miss it. You don’t want to
miss Kyle and all the people who ran angry this week. Stay
 tuned. It’s good morning
football. Don’t go anywhere. Good morning. Football is
 presented by old trapper beef
jerky. What’s your beef? No matter what kind of teeth you
 gotta brush, Oral-B electric
cleans better with one simple Wednesdays on Nickelodeon and
 streaming next day on
Paramount+. Here we go. Let’s do it live on the line. That’s
going to be you guys. That is
the role you play in this segment because you are on the
phone line. We have all kinds
of phones here, including working ones. We are now going
to take live calls. They are
not plants. They are not Gmfb staff members. They are real
NFL fans with something to say.
I put on my Princeton sweatshirt today just to
 trigger you, to give you
something, to just hate. Give your opinions a little bit
 stronger, maybe a little
saltier. Let’s find out. First, what we do here is I’m going to
have the King of the hill or
Queen of the hill. Whoever has the best call will stay on that
 hill until someone knocks them
off. And at the end of the segment, we’ll have a winner.
Is this thing on? We have many,
many, many people on hold, and we start first with an Arizona
 Cardinals fan. This should be
good. Let’s go to Marty in Virginia. Marty, you’re on the
air. Go. You got 30s. Kyle I’m
angrier than a gloveless camp. Scatter! Boo! Where’s my gloves?
 Prize. Where’s my team? The
performance on Sunday by Arizona is inexcusable. On your
 own turf. The Cardinals home
record the past four years is ten and 18. That record is not
 a reflection of the players
know. That record speaks volumes of the lack of
 discipline and motivation. And
that starts with the coaching staff. This team was one game
 away from Super Bowl, with
Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton at quarterback, and with Bruce
Arians as the head coach. All
right, Marty, you were just getting ramped up. You were
 passionate, but you were really
solid. And I understand basically after that loss that
you just had to the Titans, it
could have been a lot worse than that. One of the strangest
losses, I think it was Ryan
Fitzpatrick. In fact, I know it was. Fitz was on Twitter saying
that’s the worst loss I’ve ever
seen. And it really was baffling. Not only the drop at
the goal line, but then the
ridiculous fumble and interception touchdown by the
Titans. Marty, I’m proud of you
for staying in your shoes. Oh look, we have video of it. You
can relive it one more time.
Marty, if you’re hanging on right now with references to
 Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton,
have a look at this. Oh, great. It’s an interception. Dang dang
 dang, that’s the Benny Hill
Yakety Sax guys losing to the Titans. I’m supposed to cheer
you up or something? I’m not
doing it. Absolutely terrible loss. I like the Cardinals. I
like a lot of what they have
going on, but the fact that Marty could be that much of a
 gentleman, Marty and I will
call you that after what will definitely be the worst loss of
the 2025 season. And we’re only
in week five, I respect it. Let’s next go. Let’s try to
cheer things up by going to a
Browns fan. Trish. Trish in the great state of Ohio what are
 your thoughts. You have 30s.
Trish Ashburn here. Dog in the house I just want to say you
know I’ve been die hard Browns
fan forever. And this is the first time in a while that I’ve
seen the Browns look okay, or
at least on our way. Dylan looked good. He brought a great
 energy. He was accurate. Seemed
like he got the ball out quickly. He was calm. You know,
 we’re diehard, faithful. I know
we’re all tired. Gluttons for punishment, I think even, you
 know. But like, kardiac kids,
baby for life. Like. Let’s go. You know what I mean? Oh, huge
fan of New York. I think I do
know what. Oh thank you, Trish, but you’re out of time Trish.
 You’re 1 in 4. It’s not going
well. And yet. Look at you Mr. Optimistic Mr. positive I like
that you can come in here and
absolutely scream about your team about how much you hate
them if you want. This is this
is a venue for that. But the fact that you could go to
Europe and lose to the Carson
Wentz pseudo Vikings and Dylan Gabriel looked fine. Looked
pretty good. The fact that you
were there I don’t know if it’s a commentary on how beaten down
you are that the fact that
you’re 1 in 4 and kind of competed is happy. Or maybe
 you’re just choosing to go
glass half full, even though that glass is likely full of
 Tito’s vodka. Trish, respect. I
like that you do that. Probably a lot of Browns fans don’t do
that. u know who we should
hear from? Giants fans. This is a guy named Joey in New Jersey,
 one of roughly 300,000. Joey’s
in the great state of new Jersey. Joey the Giants fan.
You have 30s. Let it rip, Joey.
What’s going on? Kyle I’m a big, big fan from new Jersey. I was
in New Orleans over the weekend.
First two offensive drives, everything was looking good.
Life was good. But after that,
you know how it went. You know it’s a rookie quarterback in
the second game. I guess it’s
expected. But the defense is what really got me upset. It’s
too good on paper to be to be
shut out by the Saints team. They had no sacks. I think they
 only had one quarterback hit.
And I mean you look around the league and they ran out of timem
going to I’m going to test. Now.
This is my producer’s note. Say that this caller is Renee. And
it literally says in the doc
pronounce like Rene Russo. That producer knows me, I know Renee
 Russo. Renee in Wisconsin, I’m
the Texans. Renee, first of all, I’m going to put you on the
 spot. What is your favorite
Rene Russo movie. And then tell us about the Texans. Go. Jesus,
 I can’t even think of a Rene
Russo movie right now. Thomas Crown Affair is that I’m happy
that the. Excuse me, just go.
Just go. Rene. Do you. You got 12 seconds. I’m sorry. Okay.
Number one, I’m happy that the
Texans finally got their heads out of their behinds and
 actually won a game against a I
know, an injury riddled Ravens team, but I’m so happy we
 scored so many points. It’s
beginning of the season. I was kind of po’d at Jamie because
she threw the Texans helmet off
the damn table and said, we want, all right, that’s our
best call so far. One I messed
it up by putting Renee on the spot about Rene Russo. I would
 have gone Thomas Crown affair,
but you could have gone in the line of fire head upper. But
 she actually had beef with
Jamie. Nobody has beef with Jamie. Jamie didn’t. Renee
 didn’t like Jamie through the
Texans helmet off the table because they didn’t pick the
Texans to be in the playoffs.
Renee, currently you are at the top of the heap right now.
Unless we’re going to go right
now to a Chiefs caller. This is in Missouri. This is Debbie and
I’m looking at the notes and it
says WTF happened last night and what was Chris Jones doing?
 Debbie in Missouri, can you
take out Renee for best caller. You got 30s. Okay, I want to
tell you what it’s like to be a
Chiefs fan. First of all, we’re up. We’re up. Everybody’s happy
 smiling and Mahomes on the
sideline cheering everybody up and smiling. And I’m thinking
oh my gosh it’s good. We’re
good. And then we go into the second half and it’s all goes
 downhill from there. And the
whole play I’m still thinking we’re good until I see Trevor
 Lawrence on the ground. Yay!
We’re going to win. Where is our defense? And then Chris
Jones is standing at the field
goal line like it’s. Debbie. I can’t really sympathize that
much. When you come in and say
what it’s like to be a Chiefs fan, I’m sorry, did you guys
get a flat tire on your Rolls
Royce? What happened? You have a little bit of a plumbing, a
leaky sink in your mansion. You
have had a wonderful, wonderful run that you’re still in the
middle of. I know the team
isn’t as good this year, and I know the record isn’t as good.
And. Oh, wow, you lost in prime
time. I don’t have a lot of sympathy. I’m sorry, Debbie,
I’m sure you can imagine why
it’s been that good. But I will say the Chris Jones thing is
 fascinating. If you have not
seen this clip yet this morning on the game winning touchdown
 by Trevor Lawrence, where he
falls and then falls again, future Hall of Famer Chris
 Jones looks like he’s standing
there checking his phone or smoking a cigarette or
 something. I love Chris Jones.
Full respect for him. This is a very bizarre play. It’s as if
he wants to let the Jaguars
score, which some defenses do, but not in this context. Again,
the Jaguars had no timeouts. If
you touch Trevor Lawrence down here, the clock is ticking. The
 Jaguars are scrambling. Just
get him down. You may win the game there. Weird weird. Look
for Chris Jones. He’s going to
be asked about that a lot. He’s going to have to have a good
answer. Let’s do one more call.
Let’s do should we do a Niners fan a Seahawks fan. You know
what? Let’s do a Pats fan from
Oregon. Sam in Oregon on line five you have 30s. You’re the
 last caller. Currently Renee
from Wisconsin is on the top of the hill. Can you knock Renee
off? Let’s find out. Go. Hello,
Kyle. Jamie, man, I love you all. You’re great. Go, new
 England. Go, Patriots. Drake
Mays looking like the new Josh Allen in the division. Mike
Vrabel I’d go to war for him.
I’d commit a heinous crime for him. Probably. He’s the man the
 absolute legend. And let’s talk
college football real quick Oregon State Beavers. It’s a
hard time to be a Beaver fan I
apologize. It’s just bad. Oh, and it’s not looking good. This
is crazy that I’m on here not
expecting Sam, I love you. It sucks when you run out of
script and your script can only
carry 20s. So then you pivot to an Oregon State football take
 which can only carry six
seconds, and the last five is just. This is crazy to be on
here. It’s crazy for me too.
Sam, I can’t believe we’re doing this. I’ve been on the
 show ten years. We’ve never
done anything like it. Guess who our winner is. Renee in
Wisconsin, who only had a 12
second take, but it had teeth. buzzed. All right, welcome back
to New York City. We are at
capacity here in our New York condo because we have two very
cool people here. They are the
hosts of the new sports talk show 106 and sports. It
 premieres next Wednesday on Bet
at 10 p.m. eastern. And you’re going to watch it is CBS sports
 analyst and reporter Ashley
Nicole Moss. And number one Cam Newton. Guys welcome. How are
we? Hi. Hi, mama. Hi. Look we
look good. Everyone looks great. Cam. You’re getting all fit up
 and everything. You feel okay?
You good? You ready to roll? I think so okay, good. So that
 espresso, you know, just not
kicking in obviously. No. Yeah. You got to get your morning
 routine. You need a little
build up. First of like six of them. So six espressos. Is that
how you roll? Yeah. Ashley is
notorious for just throwing out certain information without
giving it context. That is my
Starbucks order. As a matter of fact, we shouldn’t we shouldn’t
shout out any other brands that
did not pay us. That’s what content has told us. But my
 coffee order, typically when I
go to coffee shops is six shots of espresso and I sip it
 throughout the day. That’s
that’s just sometimes I finish it, sometimes I don’t, but it
 comes off extremely aggressive.
When people hear it. It’s like, wait, what is? When I first met
 Ashley, she was like, listen,
it’s a judgment free zone. I’m not going to judge you, but
 here we are. It’s still
judgment. A Brooklyn girl is known. It’s still judgment free.
See, this is the kind of thing
you’re going to get on 106 in sports, for sure. Chemistry,
 sports. Tangents. Tell us about
the show, Ashley. We’re really excited. Cam and I did not work
with each other prior to the
screen test, and it just really went, just couldn’t have gone
 better. Honestly, when we
tested together and the show was going to take everything
you loved about 106 and park
the culture, the countdown, the live audience, but it’s going
to bring it into the sports
world, and I think it’s going to be really exciting for
people to be able to have
conversations that you don’t hear. Typically on mainstream
 networks, when you think of
sports, right. And Bet is getting into a new avenue for
 them, and they’re really
excited about it. Obviously, we have the EP of MAV and LeBron,
and we know what they have done
in the industry. So there’s a lot of people behind the scenes
and in front of the camera who
are really dedicated to making this something special. This
will be an easy question for
cam, but I want to ask you, what’s something about the NFL
 culture right now that makes
you excited? I mean, we were talking about this last night,
 the amount of black starting
quarterbacks in the NFL is is really exciting. And what was
 the phrase you used yesterday?
What did you have when you were talking about the quarterback
position? I talk a lot. It was
a high intelligence. Oh yeah yeah yeah, yeah. It’s an
 intelligent position. Yeah. And
I think it’s for a position that really a lot of people
 thought black quarterbacks were
unable to do successfully in the professional league. And
 even at the collegiate level
with certain programs to see that kind of change and to now
be 50% of quarterbacks in the
league, it’s been a really interesting shift, maybe more.
Yeah, I would say to that when
I came into the league, had Vince Young was still was still
in the league, you had Michael
Vick, obviously Donovan McNabb, all those guys was on the back
 end of their career. And
whether you’re black or white, no matter. But this is the
 common denominator. There’s a
lot of athletic quarterbacks in the NFL. And when I came in,
there wasn’t a lot of people
like I was the minority, not for race purposes. It was. It’s
just a skill. Yeah. Yeah, sure.
So then to look around now a guy like Jared Goff is now the
 new minority. When you see
Matthew Stafford even though he has elite as he is as a thrower.
Not a lot of guys look to those
guys as we’re going to get that right. Even Trevor Lawrence
last night. What about that guy.
What did you think you’d upset. He’s from he’s from Georgia.
 Gainesville. Oh, no.
Cartersville. I’m sorry. Yeah. And a lot a lot of product come
out of Georgia. A lot of talent.
What are you laughing at, Willie? Well, it’s good to stay
loyal to the soil. So he’s
saying, hey, man, we do it right where I’m from. Speaking
of loyal to the soil. We’re
having an ongoing weekly discussion. What’s the
 discussion, cam? What do you
got? Okay. I’m intrigued. We have a we have a Brooklyn girl,
right? My dog from New York as
well. South Bronx. So Bronx, all the boroughs. That’s cool.
So I’m saying to myself, I’m
like, yo, if you. So New York, New York, I’m a Dallas Cowboys
fan. Okay? I said stop the
nonsense. Like, what are we. Can we also, though, point out
how common it is for Dallas
Cowboys fans to not only be from Dallas. They are. They are
 America’s team for a reason.
But you can’t be pro New York without having. I’m not the
 only New Yorker. I’m a
 Knickerbocker. I’m a Knickerbocker. You know, it’s
not just me, but I’m on camp
side like I’m rep. Where you from? You know what I mean? I
do, I listen, I wear it like a
badge of honor. But the cowboys were thrust upon me since birth.
I had no choice. Sure, my
mother was the only Steelers fan, but I grew up loving
 Lawrence Taylor. The Giants
were everything for me, and it wasn’t until I got drafted to
 the Steelers, obviously played
for the Jets that I kind of had to turn my loyalty, but I’m I’m
 see. But that’s different. And
I said that same. I tried to use that argument on cam. I
said, well are you a Falcons
fan? And he was like, but it’s different. I played. So you
 played. Oh he’s different. Oh
yeah I can’t I can’t compete with that. And then they were
in my division too. So it’s
like I can’t compete with you. Learned to hate the Philly I’m
 Philly plays an interesting
role in this because you got Dallas and New York same
 division. Let’s talk a little
Eagles because they’re a very interesting team with a very
 interesting quarterback for
sure. They just take a loss. Lots of things going on. What’s
the state of the nation with
the Eagles for Cam Newton right now man. Listen offensive
 coordinator Coach Patullo is a
person that I have real questions for. And it’s not
 questions as in concerning like
yo you don’t need a job. It’s like yo how do you manage
talent. You have a very capable
quarterback that we’re it looks like from the optics and we’ve
 seen this. We’re getting bare
minimum from Jalen Hurts is not asked to do as much. That’s not
to say that he’s not capable.
You have an All-Pro running back. You have All-Pro
 receivers that’s capable of
doing these crazy lines. It’s like, yo, like, how do you
 manage that talent around him?
And you know, last week’s performance is a little
 alarming. Having six sacks
that’s the most of or top for most you know Jalen Hurts
 career. But yes it’s talent
management. How do you really capsulate. You know what our
 identity is. Because last year
it was evident they’re going to run the ball and they’re going
 to make you understand that
they’re going to control the line of scrimmage. Well now
this year it’s like a lot of
innuendos. The hater Tate cam is that he is a passenger in
that I love Jalen Slater take
 he’s a passenger. He’s a passenger. And like he has a
 running game. He is an
offensive line. And that maybe he couldn’t stand on his own
 like some other guys could.
Like maybe no no no no that’s not true okay. See my take with
Jalen Hurts is not that he’s a
a passenger seat driver. He’s well incapable of driving the
 car fixing the car, polishing
the car. He’s just not asked to do that. And we look at Jalen
as a person who is so impactful
and a person who’s a good guy. But then when you when you see
him play, he’s not going to be
rambunctious or boisterous of of straight face. And I think
they have the same thing in AJ
Brown. You know, we’ve seen peaceful protests, so to speak,
 to try to get people’s
understanding of try to get people’s attention. It’s like,
 yo, I’m gonna read a book, I’m
going to do this. I’m gonna I’m gonna send an encrypted tweet.
 Right? And yet they’re still
for one, they are for and one whether. Well, you hit it right
on the head because I think
there’s and I think this falls in line with you because AJ
 Brown with everything that he
offers I think he’s an alpha right. He’s all dog. And but
 there’s a there’s there’s some
myths about him being selfish of me. Guy you was a guy in
 your early in your career
because you were. So I guess you were big time. You were
 Hollywood. But there were some
myths about your game. Yeah. Is there anything he should be
 wanting to debunk? It’s like
you had to debunk through your career. What are the people who
really know him say they don’t
say much. Yeah, because everybody knows from I’ve never
 heard nobody say anything bad
about AJ Brown. A coach, a teammate, a person. A source
has never said Cam Newton was a
bad teammate. Now. And as you know, me and Ashley are going
 on these, you know, different
pressers and talking about, you know, what our anticipation is
 for the show. Me personally,
I’ve always wanted to move people emotionally. So whether
 you’re seeing this and saying
like, why does he have this hat on? Got, you know, where do I
 get that hat? Mushika hats.
Gotcha. You know, it’s like, either way, you have to be
moved with emotion to look at
me and to not feel nothing. I did not do my job. I hear that,
 and that’s where, you know,
when you it impacts you or penetrates you when. Whoa, it
it makes you feel a certain
type of way when you know, somebody actually knows you and
they’re able to say, man, you
know what? I was running for three years. That ain’t that’s
 not that’s not him. Right.
Ashley, you sit down and you immediately, even before the
 segment started, you got
opinions, you got takes. You’re trash in Chicago pizza like you
are, obviously you are a talk
show host with your own really strong opinions. Tell us just a
little more about cam. Is cam
he just said you’re going to get a reaction out of me. The
 working experience, the
discussion experience, because we’re going to see at 106. And
I’m excited because I think cam
and I have a lot of similarities, but I also think
 we’re different, right? He
comes from the player aspect of now entering media. I come from
 going to journalism school and
being in media in the more traditional sense. Right. And I
 think that that’s a good
balance. And I think we also push each other to kind of
venture into each side a little
bit more. Cam is never afraid to ruffle some feathers, and
 that is something that he
pushes me. I look for the feathers. Hell yeah. He starts
rough. Yeah. He ain’t. No, he’s
not trying to ruffle him. He wants to pluck him, but he does
it. It’s not to invoke a
particular reaction. It’s genuinely just how he is. And
 I’ve been telling everybody,
Cam Newton, that you see on camera I think, you know, we’re
all so familiar with Cam Newton,
the football player, and who he was on the field. And it’s
 super cam. It’s dabbing. You
know we all know that. But the cam you guys see on camera is a
 media personality is very much
who he is behind the scenes. Maybe just even more so. It’s
 incredible. It’s constant jokes.
Yeah very serious. When he has to headphones on when he wants
to get into the zone. But I
think it’s a good balance of the two of us because we come
 from different paths. He’s very
down south and very east coast. Yeah, I can feel that. Yeah, he
 tries to, except for your
football favorite. Listen, the sign of a good segment is we
want it to keep going and going.
And the good news is it does keep going. And it goes on 106
 and sports. It is next
 Wednesday. It’s on bet. It’s 10 p.m. eastern. You guys are a
 revelation. You’re going to
pluck a lot of feathers and we’re going to be watching. I
love hanging out with us. Hell
yeah, we’re going to come hang out with you. Look at this
picture right here. We got a
basketball. We got football, we got hats, we got feathers, we
 got everything. Ashley Nicole
Moss and our guy Cam Newton. We love you guys and thank you so
much. We’re so happy about the
show. Congratulations. Any time. Thank you. There they are. Wave
 goodbye everybody. Watch him
106 and sports. It is not the 47744025 to speak with a
 licensed Aetna agent. That’s
1-844-774-4025. Good morning to you Jaguar fans still basking
in that win. And that’s in part
because Travis Hunter had one of his best games so far in
 Jacksonville 64 yards receiving
on offense a pass defended on defense. And it might not just
be because of his hard work,
but there was a good luck charm in attendance for him. You
 might remember this viral
moment just after the draft. Hunter was on the flight to
 Jacksonville when he sat next
to miss Sandy Combs. You see them right there in this post.
She had no idea who he was.
They became friends on the flight. A conversation led
Combs to joining us here on
Gmfb, where Jamie had this to say. Miss Sandy Combs, you are
 fantastic. And whatever pregame
ritual or ceremony that the Jaguars do, I absolutely think
you deserve a home game for
them. I think if they go international this year, you
 should make the trip. You
should everything. Jaguars. That is your new best friend.
It’s a new part of your family.
Travis Hunter what a cool story. Jamie, you spoke this into
 existence because look the
Jaguars they had Miss Combs there at the game. She met
 Travis before they took some
pictures on the field. They’re chopping it up. They took a
 couple pictures and spending
some time together. So the Jags might have to bring her back
 for another game. Maybe she’s
still a good luck charm for them at home games. We love it
miss Combs, hope you had a
great game. All this warm and fuzzy heartwarming stuff. Not
on a Tuesday the whole day
because Kyle has angry runs from the roof. Coming your way.

else is crazy? Other sodas have

take a deep breath. There’s a lot of emotions, a lot of
things I think about. I think
the fans feel that way too. Leading up to the game.

going crazy. That’s when true competitors and playmakers come
 out. Energy builds off energy

Knox with the stiff arm and the
arm. Every time I see Pacheco and Hunt I just think angry
runs that segment. This guy, he
just lives angry. Jack off. Thank you for my six angry run
shut this house. Much love and
much appreciation. Can’t even think of the guy’s name that
does it. But the angry runs. I
always want to be on that. He can be an angry runner. Angry
 runner, angry runner. That’s
what I’m talking about. Let’s go. He actually said, you win
 that scepter. Angry run scepter
as a running back. You want this, you want to be on an
angry runs and having angry run.
You know they send you a scepter, send you a cool shirt.
I took my anger out on the
field. That was one thing I did. I had a fun time doing it. Boom.
You are looking live at Lower
Manhattan and welcome my friends to Angry Runs in New
 York City. Let’s start moving.
Let’s start moving. Cameraman Paul, you’re going to end up on
 the segment for the wrong
reasons. I’m so excited. This morning we have a fantastic
 angry runs. We got friends.
That’s the ABC Disney building. The ladies are already lining
up to watch The View. I’m sure
they love me bellowing from here on the angry terrace
before we start. Oh man, I’m
spitting dust over here. I got to just have a delicious liquid
death right here to fuel the
anger. Oh, it’s always how we wash down the segment. Oh, yeah.
 Let’s go. First things first.
You know, the angry runs street team. Those are our friends and
 family. They were the official
angry run shirt from homage. And they submit their pictures
on the street to try to win
something incredibly cool. Do you want to see the runner ups
and the winners this week? Of
course you do. Bring it on in here first we have my friends.
Oh yeah, this is Diego with the
little baby blanket in his mouth. This is Patricio with
 the football onesie looking
over his shoulder at the mom who has an angry runs towel.
He’s like, what are you guys
doing there? Running angry. That’s what they’re doing next.
 This one’s blowing my mind.
I’ve seen a lot of things in this segment. I’ve never seen
this. Yes, Caitlin, out here in
the shirt with twins, these babies are like 20 minutes old.
 Congratulations on Jordan and
Ren that she went out to the football field. And don’t sleep
 on Sky who’s signaling for
touchdown and a Travis Kelce jersey. Beautiful family I love
this. But our winners this week
for the best angry run street team submission. We go to the
 backyard bring them up right
now. Our guys are winners. Grandpa Ken this is so awesome.
 Watch this. Grandpa Ken’s got
his helmet on his angry run shirt. He’s got his kids
grandson Reece on his back. We
have a chief skeleton and a raven skeleton trying to tackle
him as he’s got the sword and
the shed and the zubr. This is everything I love. And since
 it’s the Chiefs and Ravens,
they’re probably not tackling them right here. Look at the
foot over on Reece. Grandpa Ken,
you are our winner. What does this mean? Winner win is what?
Here’s the deal. You send us
your angriest photos, your meanest mugs. You don’t have to
wear an angry runs t shirt to
qualify, but as you just saw, it doesn’t hurt. What you want
to do is head over to
homage.com and get the shirt. Each week a winner and angry
runs will be selected by me.
That individual, in this case grandpa, Ken and Reece gets a
$100 gift card, 100 bucks gift
card. It’s great, but that weekly winner also becomes
 eligible for the grand prize,
which is my friends. Two Super Bowl tickets to Super Bowl 60
and three nights in a hotel.
Scan the QR code. Scan the QR code like I said, or text angry
runs to 635635 for your chance
to win. When I get into my angry runs mode, it’s hard for
me to do the legalese. The
terms and conditions might apply. You know what I’m
 talking about. Here’s where I’m
comfortable. Here’s my wheelhouse. We look at last
week’s winner, kind of with a
heavy heart because Omarion Hampton from the Los Angeles
 Chargers who was awesome last
week. Awesome. Have a look at what Omarion Hampton did last
week. This feels like a long
time ago. Chargers. Giants. This isn’t a convention for
angry run of the year. Boom
boom boom. Pistons. Pistons on Pistons running through Giants.
 Now Omarion is on injured
reserve now because he got banged up. And we hate that.
But what we love is Jim
Harbaugh freaking out. And when we send the scepter to the
 Chargers facility yeah baby.
Yes Omarion you get right. You mount this thing on the wall
and you strengthen up like we
know you will. Also, we had a friend of the show you might
 know where has Jamie Erdahl
went to the facility, the bolt and hand-delivered it. Roll the
video. Look at Erdahl. It’s the
contrast of Jamie and her sweet wind suit is so nice and so
 friendly. And it’s something
about anger. She’s giving a gift and look at him. He’s
 amused and he’s bemused, and
he’s inside in rage about the souvenir. But Jamie, God’s work,
I love it. You’ve done this
before. You’ll do it again. And guys, Omarion Hampton, now that
we are four weeks into the
season, joins what we call the Ring of Anger. This is all our
 angry friends together and one
nice little horn of plenty. Bring it up. Bring up the ring
of anger. There it is. My
nephew cam. Franchise quarterback Jordan Love,
 Jonathan Taylor and the Colts
ownership and the family. And now Omarion Hampton were just
 building up our little case
Logic CD holders. You bring out the CDs that you want and today
we will add to them, my friends,
because it is week five, now we’re time to have another
winner. Guess who our first guy
is? I’m so excited! I haven’t said this all season. Ready?
Pacheco Pacheco. He was on one
last let’s go to Isaiah Pacheco is doing friend of the segment
 who has never won. Somehow,
some way, just shoot him up the gap and watch guys start to
 fall. Pacheco is. There’s
something about the prime time light that hit different. Look
at him, the big chest pound and
the points and that’s not it. Watch him do it again. And this
time his bonnet’s going to come
out. Oh, yes. I think you lost your bonnet, baby. Look at him
 with the mouthguard hanging out
like a tongue out of a salamander. Pacheco. Pacheco,
is this going to be the week
Pacheco finally wins it? Is this Susan Lucci winning a
 Daytime Emmy for All My
Children, or will it go on? I love yes, I want to kiss the
 screen, but we must advance
little comic relief. Everything’s coming up Colts
right now. How do I know that?
Because even at the end of games, nonsense like this is
 happening. Give me Anthony
Richardson now. Enough, Pacheco. He’s had his moment. Richardson
drops back to pass. He gets
deflected. Watch this thing. Pause right here. This ball in
the air ends in a nine yard
gain. Can you find it. He can. He catches it. And now we’re
going and we’re going and we’re
going and we’re still going. Unbelievable effort. Look at
 that. The knees are pumping.
He’s actually crawling on his knees like he’s in gym class.
 Daniel Jones slick golf clap
are the 2025 Colts the best team of all time? He throws it
up in the air and it results in
a nine yard gain. Roll it an unbelievable. These guys are
 just standing around and watch
like oh we’re going to fight. Why the hell not. Let’s push
 them. Everything’s coming up.
Colts right now. This is a hilarious play at the end of
game. That should have been a
disaster. And in other years it would have been not this year.
Look at the knee pump. And we
showed Daniel Jones on the sideline. Here’s old friends of
 the segment Daniel Jones give
me the scepter pick right now Daniel Jones took this thing
 internationally when he was in
Germany with the flag. Do you think he’s the only Colts
 quarterback who got one? Give
me the next picture. Last year the Colts will go to deep look
 at Richardson and dignified.
Absolutely incredible. Find me another team who’s top two
 quarterbacks have a scepter. I
don’t think you can. But we end this way. We got to go to one
more. Let me catch my breath.
My gosh, the cardio is going so fast as you get older. I got a
tweet on Sunday. I got a tweet
from an NFL team. Bring up the tweet because I like to call
 your attention to this. If
teams call me out from the official team Twitter like this
 at Panthers, that’s no knockoff.
That’s no podcast or nothing. Who folds? Rico was on a
 rampage. If you call my
attention, it better be good. Don’t bring me to some run.
 That’s just a little nonsense.
Let’s see what Rico was doing, shall we? If you don’t mind,
roll the. And it is indeed a
rampage. Not like the terrible Dwayne Johnson movie. The video
game where you could pick a
wolf or a lizard or a giant ape. Look at these dolphins. This
play right here doesn’t end in
a tackle, guys. He ends a complete wake of destruction
behind him. He is like a giant
boat, the SS Dowdle. And they’re like actual dolphins
swimming along next to the boat,
doing nothing to stop it. Rico Dowdle I have to apologize,
Rico. Maybe I was not as
familiar as I should have been with your game, but I am now.
This is through the heart of
the defense in the context of a massive day. How did none of
 them tackle him? Because Rico
said, not today. Like Gerardo Rico, suave early 90s. Shout
out if you know it, you know it,
Rico. The fact that this did not end in a tackle is so
awesome and so strong. And I
love you so much. I like that I’m talking Panthers. They had
a really big win. They have a
really good running back. Was it good enough to beat though?
 Anthony Richardson with Comic
relief at the end of the game against the Raiders and Pacheco.
I go to Los Angeles as I quench
my thirst once again, and I want to hear my friends
opinions as I throw the card
off on the terrace. What do you guys got in LA? Oh, I got if I,
if I got to choose between
three great choices KB I got to go with Rico. Odoardo. Not only
was he rampaging his style, but
he was a rampaging stats. Probably one of the best
 performances by Carolina
Panthers running back since 2012. So I got Rico. Odoardo.
 That’s my choice. I have a very
refined selection process. I always like to try to go with a
winner. I like to stay away
from scrums just moving forward so I too will go with the
 winner, Enrico Dowdle. Way to
go Kyle! Plus, I like how you said Rico and Rampage. No way
 I’m going with Isaiah Pacheco.
He got his helmet knocked off, looked into the camera, dreads
 flowing down his face and
through his eyes. I got Isaiah Pacheco, as I have said for
 years now, when the Pacheco
angry run winner happens, we are going to know there is
going to be no discussion, no
deliberation. and it will be tht one of the year. It is not
 today because I’m excited to
say that one Carolina Panther followed their slogan and kept
 pounding It’s Rico. Rico Dowdle
gets the scepter, the Panthers get the win. New York City, are
you big fans of Rico Dowdle?
Shut up! What do you know? Rico Dowdle gets the scepter. I’ve
go down to the bottom here and
we say angry runs. Boom. See you next week. The DK sauced
 and tossed chicken strip basket
comes in your choice of honey Take control at ready.gov. I
want to say thank you all for
absolutely everything that I’ve come and planned here. It’s
been great. It’s been an honor.
I love you guys and it’s always good to come back home. Retire.
Man. I love you guys and I
appreciate you guys each and every day man God bless y’all.
 Thank y’all. Thank y’all. And
they loved him right back. He was selected in the second
round of the 2018 draft by the
Indianapolis Colts. In that same year, that man became the
 Defensive Rookie of the year.
He’s a three time first team All-Pro and a longtime friend
of our show. It’s the maniac.
It’s Shaq Leonard. Let’s go, let’s go. Yeah baby. What’s up.
 Not to be confused. Also
retired jersey in Lakeview High School Laura I believe that to
be true. So you are just being
memorialized all over football town. Shaq great to see you.
But with the Colts with the NFL
you decide to hang up the cleats. How is life now? How is
 the aftermath of this decision.
And you’re what your world looks like. Oh man it’s great
man. You know I’m coaching back
at high school enjoying it up there, trying to make those
 kids better. But my favorite
thing of it man just being able to spend time with the family.
Now I’m home every day I get to
go to practices, I get to go to games and stuff like that. So
 it’s it’s great. It’s great.
I’m loving it, loving the decision and looking forward to,
 you know, what’s coming forward
in my life. Shaq I’m older than you, bro. But I remember
 watching your film. I would
watch your film during during my pregame just to get a feel
 because there are very few
people that when you watch them, you can just tell they love the
game. Where does that love for
the game of football come from in your life? Oh man, it comes
 from just just being doubted,
man. Just being being the smallest thing on the field
 majority of the time, sitting
bench and then finally getting an opportunity to play. Man. It
makes you it makes you respect
the game. And then sitting on the bench, man it makes you
 when you get an opportunity,
you take full advantage of your opportunity and makes you
understand that if you get an
opportunity, don’t waste it. And every time I touch the
field, I just play it like it
was my last and gave it everything I got. And just man,
I love it when you love the
game as much as I do, man. It’ll show. It’ll show on the
field. And what shows back is
the respect and your legacy from your teammates, man, your
 teammates weighed in,
specifically Jonathan Taylor and DeForest Buckner. I want
you to listen to what they had
to say. Shaq was a generational talent. Like, I mean, we’ve all
seen it. I mean, just his
impact in the game and the community. But but really just
he’s he was a rare talent at
the linebacker position. That’s one of the best players that
I’ve ever played with from a
leadership standpoint, from an actual on like on field play
 standpoint. That’s someone like
when I came in, I’m like, okay, this is someone who puts it on
 tape every single week. Shaq,
what’s it like to hear that? Man? It is. It’s amazing to
hear those words, man. It just
it makes you understand that you you did everything the
 right way, man. You treated
everybody with respect. You went to work day in and day out
and didn’t just talk about it.
You made sure that you put it on tape and then you just knew
how to lead. And for for me to
walk away from the game as early as I did and have my
teammates talk about me in that
 manner. Man, it’s it’s a blessing. It’s a blessing. And
 I’m just thankful. Thankful for
the opportunity to play and thankful for the opportunity to
be their teammates and be their
friend throughout this whole thing. And it’s it’s great. And
it makes me more so at peace to
know that I did my job to the best of my ability. And my
 teammates saw that. And they
and they think the world of me. Shaq, let’s talk about the the
Colts the current state of the
Colts. Man, are they for real. Should we be believers in them?
Oh you best believe it. You
best believe it man. They’re they’re playing great
 complementary football in all
three phases just like last week man. They they get a
 blocked punt on special teams.
They get two interceptions on defense. And then offensively
man I think they scored five
touchdowns. And it just goes to show man the energy is back in
 Indianapolis man. Defensively
they are flying around Danny Dimes is putting the ball on
 the money making the right
throws. The offensive line is blocking great. And JT just
being JT. So no matter what you
do against them they’re going to find a way to win the ball
 game. And there’s no quitting
them. And and you see when they’re up big they’re still
got their foot on the gas. And
they’re just going to show that no matter who they’re playing
 what they’re doing, they’re
going to go out and do it. And coach is doing a great job with
them. Man, I felt that when I
was there, man, you hold guys accountable. He pushed guys and
Chris did a great job in the
draft of drafting guys to help this team out. And man it’s
 showing. It’s showing. And the
guys are really buying in. And the Colts are the real deal.
And you can book the ticket
right now I believe in somebody else who’s the real deal is
Zaire Franklin. And he got a
sack in the game and he got to do your celebration. Talk us a
 little bit about your
relationship with him, both on and off the field. Oh, man.
Zaire and I, we both came in
together as rookies. And, you know, I just seen him working
from being a special team guy.
And now everything is on his shoulders, man. The way that
he’s leading them guys, the way
that he’s bringing that tenacity down man, it’s great
to see. And you know we still
have our relationship. You know we talk every once in a while.
And you know I’m I’m happy to
see him do what he do man. It’s it’s a blessing especially to
see his role, his journey to
where he’s at now. And it’s a blessing to see. And I’m and
I’m happy for him. Shaq, you
gave us a blessing several years ago. We do some segment
 here called Angry Runs, where
we find the guy who runs somebody over or stiff arms and
 everything, and we scream about
it and we celebrate him. And you know what I’m talking about
 because you made history.
October 2019. Dude, you were the first player ever to win
 angry runs on the defensive
side of the football. And we have the clip. Let’s watch it.
 Colts linebacker Darius Leonard
met up with Roman Reigns. They took a photo and among his
 comments Darius said, I’m going
to try to Superman punch someone Sunday. Let’s go to
Sunday, shall we? It’s the end
of the game. Darius Leonard is, in fact going to call game
 against Deshaun Watson. You’re
going to see the pick. And then he gets up. And what is Darius
Leonard do fall down. Look out
Kenny Stills. Oh no that’s a linebacker. Yeah dude we’re
 laughing. You’re laughing. What
do you remember about all that oh man man I remember that play
 like it was yesterday man.
Dropping just in you know just like Covid three seeing the end
cut. He throws the ball. The
ball is just laying out for it. And then getting back up I knew
that it was one man to beat man.
It just went back to my high school days, man. Just still
for me. I got long arms and I,
I knew that if I get my right arm free man, I was able to
stiffarm him. Man, it’s just a
blessing. I love I love seeing guys get stepped on by me and
hit the ground. So it’s it’s
great. And then when I saw that I got the angry runs, man. It
was, it was, it was lit. It was
very lit, man. I’m grateful for it. It was lit, dude, we give
 out a scepter nowadays. But
back in the day, what you’re seeing there, Darius got a
crown. Shaq got a crown, he got
the crown. And do you still have it? And if not, we will
send you a scepter. Oh, of
course I still have it, man. It’s in my house right now, man.
 I haven’t I haven’t laying out
because when you when you see it now man, you see a lot of
guys that have it. And then,
you know, I got a lot of my, my kids, they come over, we’ll
watch film and stuff and I show
them some of the things, and you bring that out and let them
know that I was the first
defensive guy to get that man. It’s pretty cool. And, you know,
you got to have some bragging
points with these kids nowadays, man. Shaq, what do you make of
the fact that the Colts Kyle
said a couple segments ago, maybe the only team in the NFL
 right now where both
quarterbacks have angry run scepters? Is that emblematic of
what the Colts are about this
season? Of course, you know, they I mean, ever since I was
at the Colts, man, it’s always
about, you know, the run game man. Getting involved in the
 run game and being physical.
And you see Quenton Nelson all the time talking about being
 physical and finishing the
blocks. And we always talk about finishing the run. And
that’s what the guys are I mean
that mentality over there with Anthony Richardson. He’s
definitely going to try to run
you over with his big body. And then Daniel Jones, he’s going
to try to run you over too
because it’s all about physicality and putting it on
 tape. They’re not backing down
from anyone and it’s just great to see the physicality there.
Now on this offense. Shaq shout
out your high school team that you’re coaching. How are we
looking this season. Who are we
playing Friday night. Oh man we Lakeview High School we got we
got carvers Bay coming to town
man. They’re they’re seven and oh eight and oh I guess so.
 Everybody is against us. So
we’re taking on that underdog role just to come out and just
play the best of our ability
and see if we can come out and get a victory. Let’s go.
 Lakeview. Shaq Leonard
everybody. Longtime friend of the show, thank you so much for
 coming on and talking about
life now. And congratulations once again on a wonderful
 career. Congrats man. Thank you
so much. Send him the scepter. He has a crown and a scepter.
Yeah. Look out. Oh, no. Oh,
it’s so good. What do people
