From Empty Shell to Dream Golf Simulator | Inside the Build
[Music] The family was looking for a way to get more swings in in the long winter that we have. So, we started doing the research and thought that putting in a golf simulator would be the the best way to do it. We found the space that was available and then combined it with the pickle ball and the golf simulator. When we purchased the space last November, it was a completely empty shell. And the first thing that we wanted to do was build around the space for the enclosure. So when we talked with the Carl’s Place team, we had a complete open space to work with. We chose a space like this for the setup because we wanted enough real estate to use a full-size pickle ball court and relatively large size golf simulator. So building around the golf simulator first, we knew we wanted about a 20 foot wide space. I had played on a number of other uh golf simulators and areas and there were a few limitations that I really didn’t like. I didn’t like it too narrow and I certainly wanted enough height. We decided on the built-in design uh because of the nature of the space that we were working with and we wanted it to look and feel higherend for us. We really enjoyed the ability to customize all the aspects of it and the different iterations that we went through with the Carl’s Place designers really allowed us to move both the size of it and the height and shape it really into the space that that we wanted. All of the equipment that we selected was on the recommendation of the Carl’s Place team. um all the way through the process they would give us the options from low-end to super high-end and were in my opinion very truthful of what was um agnostic in their mind. If you’re thinking about putting in a golf simulator and you’re not sure, think about what you’re trying to get out of it. And for us as a family, it was both entertainment time and the ability to um improve our golf swings. uh we’re only couple of miles away from here and we found that there are times where uh we’re just sitting around doing nothing. We say let’s go hit golf balls. I would strongly recommend that people that are going through a process work with the design team at Carl’s Place. Uh if you have a specific need, they will build it to your need and going again through all the different iterations that we went through from from a size standpoint to then ultimately what equipment you put in and where you place it was a seamless process. They handed that off to the installation team. They walked in the door and within two days we were hitting golf balls. So I strongly recommend they use the Carl’s Place team. [Music]
