🏌️About George Lings Golf 🏌️
Hi! I’m George, PGA Professional Golfer. I have worked with some of the greatest coaches to teach the game and now I’m going bring the experiences, and drills that have been passed onto me over the years.
In today’s video, we’re going to use just three golf balls to get you to strike your irons better. Let’s dive into it. Right, the first golf ball that we’re going to use is going to be on aim and ball position. Now, with aim, the first thing that goes down is always the club. We dictate where we’re aiming with the club. So, I’m going to put the club down first, and that’s aiming straight down my target line, which is at that golf ball that’s on the screen there. From there, I put both feet together and then I work out my ball position from there. Now, anything from seven upwards into your wedges, we’re going to go from here equal steps apart. So, that ball position is dead in the middle of our stance. If we’ve got anything six downwards towards the four iron, we’re going to go slightly smaller step out with the lead side and slightly bigger step out with the trail side. And you can see that ball position is just slightly ahead of middle from there. Because we’ve got less loft on the club, we want to get that trajectory flying up just a little bit better. Hence why we go slightly forward in the ball position. But start with club first. Then I’ve got a iron here. So I’m going to go middle of stance. From there we can fire a nice golf shot. So ball number two is going to be on distance away from the golf ball. We’re going to pop that club in first. Get that ball position. And then from there we’re going to check this distance away from the ball. Now want to do the cool kid sign. Little finger goes on top of the club. Thumb goes on the belt buckle. And you can see there nice distance away from the ball. My hand can move in between the club and the golf ball. And if you ever film this and you’re looking at the position you want to see, you want to see front of the shoulder go straight through the hands. And that’s the perfect distance away from the golf ball. That will help you find the middle more. If you’re too close, you’ll see the hands sit inside the shoulder line. If you’re too far away, you’ll see the hand sit way outside of the shoulder line. Both of those need to be addressed for you to hit the ball a little bit more consistently. Let’s give that a go. So, we go clubbing first, feet equal distance apart, hands, arms just falling, and then we hit lovely little golf shot from there. Pretty solid that one. That give us a look. And finally, ball number three is all about striking the ball then the ground. We always want to take the little ball before we take the big ball. So the full process behind this one is just to get the sternum, the middle of your chest working around the lead foot. Too often I see players come into the golf ball and leaning back because they think they need to lift the ball in the air. That is not the case. We need to create backspin on the ball, which means we need to put a descending strike on the golf ball. We’re going to do that using our chest. So, we’re going to get our chest working around our lead side. And you can see then that I got the weight in my lead side into the finish there. Always want little ball before big ball. Let’s give that final one a go. Club goes in first stance. Arms just falling and then little ball before big ball. Another really nice shot. They go in. There’s four little things in three golf balls that can help you to strike your irions more consistently. Make sure to like and subscribe the channel and we’ll see you next

I like tip number 2. I think that's my biggest problem. Thanks 👍
