SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women’s golf team will play in New Mexico State’s Golf Iconic Classic next week. The Aztecs will play 18 holes Monday-Wednesday with each round beginning with a 7:15 a.m. PT shotgun start.

The tournament features 20 teams: Boise State, Eastern Kentucky, Houston Christian, Incarnate Word, Jacksonville State, Long Beach State, Nevada, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Sacramento State, Santa Clara, Southern Utah, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UT Arlington, UTEP and the host New Mexico State.

The Aztecs’ lineup will be Kylie Phi, Stephanie Barbaglia, Ema Narita, Nikki Kato and Emma Delwes.

Kylie Phi (Fountain Valley, Calif.) led SDSU and finished tied for 10th at their last tournament, The Molly Collegiate Invitational. She also was second among Aztecs in their first tournament.

Barbaglia (Johannesburg, South Africa) has finished as SDSU’s top golfer in each of the last two seasons. She has started 23 straight tournaments for the Aztecs and has a career count percentage of 88.1%.

Ema Narita (Tokyo, Japan) has the top average (74.17) on the team through two tournaments. She has led SDSU in five of their last eight tournaments dating back to last rain.

Kato (Redmond, Wash.) has played in 10 tournaments with eight starts across her first two-plus seasons at SDSU.

Emma Delwes (Verden, Germany) will be making her second start of the year. In SDSU’s last tournament, the Molly Collegiate Invitational, she tied her career-low round with a one-over-par 73 in the second round.

The tournament will be held at the New Mexico State Golf Course which plays 6,120 yards and as a par 72. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a chance of rain on Monday. Temperatures for the morning rounds will be in the high 60s/low 70s.
