Phil Mickelson has a lengthy history of political comments regarding policies and President Donald Trump’s choices throughout his lifetime and golf career, and has continued that trend with another social media post about Trump and ICE policies.

Mickelson, 55, has been known to turn to X (formerly known as Twitter) to speak his opinion on potentially controversial topics that spark criticism and disagreement from people all over the country.

On Wednesday, he turned his attention towards former Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, who tweeted: “Trump is a demagogue. Instead of addressing the serious crises that working families face, he deflects attention away from them by blaming powerless minorities for our problems.” Sanders included an almost two minute long video in the tweet noting his dislikes for Trump.

Mickelson replied to Sanders: “And thank you for bringing the hostages home and the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. (you left that part out:).” The tweet has over 320.9K views and almost 10K likes.

The comments don’t stop there. Stephen Miller, the White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security tweeted: “Harboring illegal aliens, impeding ICE officers and obstructing federal law enforcement are all felony crimes.”

Mickelson also left a reply: “Totally agree. Now let’s enforce the LAW”. The LIV Golf man’s political views didn’t end there, however, as he responded to a post from U.S Senator John Fetterman.

Fetterman wrote: “Two more of our state troopers in PA were shot last night. I’m hoping they have a full recovery. We can’t ever forget how dangerous their job is—and how grateful we should all be for their service and sacrifice.”

Quick to respond, Mickelson wrote: “Well said. It’s a dangerous job and it’s getting even more so. Thank you to every member of the force who risk their lives to keep us safe.”

Mickelson turned professional in 1992, and made his LIV Golf debut in 2022 at the Centurion Club in London, having helped spear-head the Saudi Arabia-funded breakaway league.

DON’T MISS:

Having announced his retirement from Ryder Cup involvement, Mickelson’s season ended at the LIV Golf Team Championship back in August.

The captain of the HighFlyers GC is now focused on the 2026 LIV Golf season, which begins at Riyadh Golf Club on February fifth, where significant golfers such as Jon Rahm, Mickelson and Bryson DeChambeau will begin their LIV Golf season in Saudi Arabia.
