It’s that time of year when many start cleaning off their gardens, putting things away for winter, and getting one last round of golf in as the courses start to close for the season.
The Murray, Tor-Hill, JoAnne Goulet, and Lakeview Par 3 golf courses, which are all operated by Regina, will begin to close for the year on October 14th. According to the City of Regina, nearly 135,000 rounds of golf were played on the four Regina operated courses this summer. Tor Hill will be open during the winter for those who want to go hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, or fat-tire biking.
This will be the final weekend for Flowing Springs Golf Course, northwest of Regina, and the last day of golf at Deer Valley will be on October 13th. According to Green Acres Golf and Country Club, they will be shutting down for the season between October 11th and 18th.
If the Precision Weather forecast is any indication, it’ll be a good weekend for courses to shut down thanks to chilly temperatures arriving on Sunday. Friday’s forecast says it’ll be sunny with a high of 17, Saturday shows a high of 22, and Sunday may bring snow and/or showers with a high of 3. Monday and Tuesday may be sunny with highs of 4.
