The DP World Tour makes its first visit to Spain on this season’s Race to Dubai this week with the Open de España presented by Madrid. Here are your five things to know. Angel Hidalgo returns to defend his trophy after claiming a maiden DP World Tour title in spectacular style 12 months ago. The home hero went toe-to-toe with three-time winner and two-time Major champion Jon Rahm on the final day. Just over a week from helping Europe to a Ryder Cup triumph on American soil, it is Rahm who is likely to attract the biggest galleries. The 2018, 2019 and 2022 champion is looking to surpass the late, great Seve Ballesteros with four wins in the DP World Tour era but he will have plenty of local competition. Fellow former champions Sergio Garcia and Rafa Cabrera Bello tee it up as do Eugenio Chacarra, Alejandro del Rey, Nacho Elvira, Pablo Larrazábal and Jorge Campillo, who have all won in recent seasons. Add in the likes of David Puig and Angel Ayora and the local fans are sure to have plenty to cheer this week.
Welcome to the Official YouTube channel of the DP World Tour. Every week you can find extended tournament highlights and individual player highlights from the likes of Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood. This is also the home of the 14 Club Challenge, Little Interviews, Fastest Hole and many more challenges, pranks and world record attempts featuring the biggest golfers in the world.

Not an enormous amount of green to it, but it’s got to be a high floater. I think he got more sand with that than he expected. We don’t know what the lie was like, but it was coming out running when he wanted it to bite. But this the approach shot of Kubra at number five. I would say that will do quite nicely. Managed by Javier Bayeros, Seby’s son. And this will just feed back nicely. So great opportunity to get the minus four for Aora and for around a 67. Beautifully done. That big mop of hair sticking out of the back of that. Reminds me of Freddy shot here. John Ram teed off the 10th. Dropped a shot at 13. This was his third shot out the bunker at the par five 14th. Played for the roll out and played to perfection. Beautiful eagle. And then on the next hole, what you do when you make an eagle? Well, it’s lovely to follow it up with a birdie. And this is exactly what he did. Look at that. Lovely spin control with a wedge underneath the hole. Simple putt up the hill. Lies. Lie certainly helps. Oh, that’s a beauty. A touch of class from the defending champion that is going to secure his part. What a season it has been for Marco Penge. Two wins already and he is flying here in Madrid. Also started at the 10th. 300 under the turn. That was his approach at the par five fourth. That would produce an eagle. Lovely smooth swing with the pitch at the eighth. And that is just as good as it gets. Penge doing what he’s done all season. He would have watched the chip go by. He’ll know exactly where to hit this butt. Oh dear. I can hear him say, “How can that go left?” And I have to agree with him because if I was going to read it, I would have said inside left. Now, here’s the man who won this title here in 2021. Yeah. And amazingly enough, in the coming couple of seasons, lost his playing privileges, which was amazing to me. But he’s fought his way back. He’s in a good shape now. He’s played some good golf over the last few months. Nicely done because he’s another man who’s had real chipping issues over the years. Always tended to decelerate so badly. Too long in the back swing and decel, but a good pace through that shot. Look at that. That’s how you do it. That’s how you do it. Get in. What a shot. That’ll change your day. He was struggling. It’s been a struggle. This is the Rasal Khimmer champion Alejandro Adel Ray level playing the eighth. Very nicely done. Almost an eagle too. Let’s hope he can pop that one in. It is above the hole. So slightly slipper. Meanwhile, Rafa Cabra for birdie at seven. Yes. Nice pitch and pop for his birdie J. He was tracking it, wasn’t he? He liked it from the second he hit it. Nicely done. He’s got the best angle of them all. 99 yds for Cuba. Just an easy gap wedge. Slightly uphill. This is getable. Another spin. Yeah. Go in. Go in. Oh, it had a chance. It had a look. Dan Brown strong strong player [Applause] lofting it up high coming down from stratosphere. Lovely. Ouch. Yeah, you could say just the pace really, wasn’t it? That was all ounce less pace and that doesn’t force shoot back out at him. But it’s a a decent front nine for Rafa. Gorgeous golf shot. Excellent birdie to ad. It’s only the 10th one we’ve had today on that par three. Yeah, I think you make a very good point, Dom, about the the the promoters and the the way it’s dressed. Toby Ellison just up the fairway, but thick lie at 10 and that’ll come round beautifully. Hit the flag. Oh, almost. Here’s another Madrid native, Al Vera, with a chance at eight. Well done. There you go. There’s the support. Martin from the rough. Just the first cut at 10. Nicely done. Cleverly played little second shot from Dan Brown into eight and follows it up with a nice pat to two under. Sharks had a good season one in Kenya. He’s 23rd on the race to Dubai. Here’s Martin Kubra. Makes the birdie at 10. So he moves to two under par. Nicely done. Playing 218 yds today. Went a little bit off the left. Only three birdies here so far today and that’s part of the reason the tough pin in the back right corner. Outside chance of a birdie for the Norwegian. He could do with it. He’s three over par. Come on. Keep checking. It’s dying breath. Finally. A birdie and 14 par five chipping for an eagle. Making an eagle. Oh. Nice. Now that’s the way to bounce back from a bogey. Right. Putter’s been good. The putter’s been good. It’s the one thing that’s really out Sean the rest of his game today. I fully don’t cuz Dom knows everything. Dom would have done his research. Almost a slam dunk there from Rafa. Oh, look at this. This is clever stuff. Was that It’s like a pinball shot. That wasn’t it. That’s a man who’s played this course before. Oh, come on, Sergio. How about an eagle? How about an eagle? Get back to one over. Find another birdie before you get to the clubhouse. And you can do this. How about that? Now he’s got one close, Tony, at last. Well, we waited a long time. I mean, we know how good he is with the irons. Nearly slam dunking it using the fringe. Put me down for a three. It’s my favorite second shot of the day, that one. I mean, look, it’s just tremendous. Vberer to the par five seventh. Oh, that’s beautiful. Third shot. Nothing more than 4 feet for eagle. Let’s have a big cheer. Another man like right hand not had a great day. They both could get in level path. Yeah, with that right hand flag, he’s got to carry the bunker. So, he’s got to fly this all the way. Just four from the right hand side to there. Great shot. Go on. Go on. Magic. How about that? To 17 again. Patrick Reed this time. I say holdable for him. Holdable for him. He is simply wonderful around the greens. Here is Ugo Kuso. He’s got an eagle part over at seven. This is to leapfrog the three at five under. Take the outright lead. But that is not Well, is it? Is it? Oh my. I’m with you, Dom. I thought he’d left that I thought he’d left that six or seven ft short and then it suddenly accelerated down the slope. Have you two not been watching today? Well, no, not really. We’ve been listening to you most of the day. And this would be for a share of the lead through the fringe. It’ll be quite slippery and left to right breaking down the hill. Brilliant. Brilliant. I got to say it goes so sharply left to right when he gets on the green. And how about that go to Ugo Kuso at eight Sandy Lie and oh he’s done well. What a superb recovery that was. Needed to hit a high hook there to get that landing where it did. chance to get to six under. And that is a gorgeous touch. Probably just pop a a spot on it, will he? Well, he’s going to go ahead and tidy up on what has been a splendid day for Kuso. [Applause] 65. So he has the first round lead. Two Eagles on the card today. Well done you. Oh, it’s a good part. Great finish, Sergio Garcia. Eagle at 14, 30 at 18. And somehow he gets it round in 71. You go. That’s a fantastic start to the week. 65 here at Club D to Campbo. Give us an evaluation of your day out there. Uh yeah, it was a great day. Many many great shot close from the pin especially on two par fives and I made the two good putts. So So just a great day. I had a few bad shots as well, but I’m I might I mean I recovered from it quite nicely. So yeah, I’m very happy with today. I think you’ve only played here once before and that was last year and you started with a 76 last year and made the weekend. You were eight under for the other three rounds. What did you find in those three rounds that you maybe took through to this year? Yeah, it’s uh it’s a tricky course. Uh you need I think you need to know it a little bit uh to be able to play it properly. Uh and yeah, I just have it now a little bit more in my eyes and I know how to shape the ball on which holes and I did it quite okay today. So yeah, uh just hope to do as I mean as good as tomorrow and we see. You mentioned tomorrow. I think it’s a certain person’s birthday tomorrow, I believe. Happy birthday for tomorrow. How nice is that before your birthday tomorrow to shoot a 65 around here? Yeah. Well, I don’t know. We see tomorrow, you know, maybe. I know. It’s It’s very nice here. My family is there. So, we have a good dinner tomorrow night anyway. I mean, depends what happening tomorrow. So, it’s going to be a good day for sure. If I don’t see you, happy birthday. You’re going great. Thank you very much. Appreciate it. Thank you. Thanks, guys. To watch another DP World Tour video, click here. And to subscribe, click here.

Wow! 🤩
Been watching you for a long time now and your content continues to be interesting. Thank you for your contribution to the world of online entertainment!☯️👅🍩
for real: the only guy who has not lost his competitive edge by going to LIV is tyrell hatton. Rahm, unfortunately, is a shadow of his former self. I will not even comment on Garcia. Understandable, but still sad …
Was watching eagerly, hoping to catch some coverage of Sam Bairstow – lo and behold… absolutely nothing on the live color the highlights. The fact that he carded several birdies and an eagle and was in a share of the lead means nothing to anyone ??? Come on DP – let’s have something for the home crowd please…everything else was great apart from this
Apologies for the spell checker 🤣
3:15 earphones users beware
It's rare to see a golf ball turn into glass and shatter on camera, but that's what we get at 5:22
