The Egyptian Golf Federation has a new incentive for competitors in the upcoming Egyptian Amateur Championship, which will take place from October 16 to 18, 2025, at the Dreamland Golf Club, Cairo, Egypt.

The top two players in the championship not already exempt will receive invitations to compete in upcoming Asian Development Tour (ADT) events, including the prestigious Egyptian Open, which returns this year at Madinaty Golf Club after a 15-year hiatus.

The Egyptian Open, first played in 1921, is recognised as the oldest professional golf tournament in the Middle East and one of the oldest national opens outside Europe and North America. Over the decades, it has welcomed some of golf’s most celebrated figures, including Bobby Locke, Bernard Hunt, and more recently, Rory McIlroy, who competed in the 2010 edition.

Meanwhile, the 2025 Egyptian Amateur Championship entries are now closed with a record international participation, with 14 countries—including the United States, France, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, and Egypt, the host nation.

For the first time in its 125-year history, the championship will feature cash prizes for the winners and introduce a Seniors Division, providing opportunities for golfers of all ages to compete in this historic event. Preparations are well underway to deliver a world-class edition of the championship—reflecting its distinguished heritage as one of the oldest golf championships in the Middle East and one of the oldest in the world, first contested in 1920.
