All right, guys. A quick look at Sergio Garcia. Rder Cup legend. Won everything. Now he’s a live player and everyone hates him. But let’s check out his golf swing real quick. Just a quick synopsis of it. Nothing too indepth, but let’s take a peek at it. Not a not a knee bend, as you know. We like that. Good athletic posture. arms pretty much straight down. Nothing too crazy there. Got his elbows lined up pretty good. Looks like his right elbow is facing towards the target. And let’s just take a peek at what goes on in this motion here, guys. Obviously lined up very square, which is which is amazing. This looks like he has nurses shoes on, but that’s okay. All right, let’s see that takeaway. Some would call that perfect club parallel to the ground where his toe line would be. No over rolling in or picking up, you know, pretty pretty conventional. Let’s call it that. All right. Pretty solid there on plane. Good hip turn. Shoulder turns moving. Knees are bending. Left knee’s bending. Excuse me. Right leg. Right leg straightening up. All right. Pretty laid off. Back in the day, they’d call that laid off and you wouldn’t want to kill yourself because everybody wanted that club pointing towards the target that way, but that’s laid off. And I remember when I was younger, I had a laid-off swing. Still hit the ball pretty good, but everybody wanted to change it and it messed me up and I lost sleep over it. Literally, I like the way his arm and his shoulders are on the same line. Right. Elbows in pretty close here. helps him not get too wide and all that. And it just makes it easier to get back to the ball. There’s less manipulation, less timing. You know, it’s more of a conventional open the door, close the door swing type of motion that I I prefer. Hip turns pretty solid there. Right leg has straightened, left knee has bent. His left heel is on the ground, even though it looks like it’s off the ground a little bit. I know a lot of people are into the lifting of the heel for a bigger turn and all that. And his right foot looks pretty pretty square, you know. You know, it’s not flared out. Like the front foot’s definitely flared out a little bit. Oh, that didn’t help me out any There we go. And let’s see on that down swing. We know now he’s dropping that under his shoulder line. So remember back there, he’s right on his shoulder line there. Now he’s dropping it under it. So, he’s really coming from that inside. That’s really We like to see that, too. The club shaft or the trail forearm. That’s kind of cool. And then coming from that inside, look at that. Right elbow’s tucked in nicely. Look at that, guys. Cuz he’s got the club from the inside. He’s connected. Again, not a lot of manipulation have to happen from there. Hip turn. Let me get that out of the way there. Hip turn pretty solid. Right heel off the ground as you can see. Heads down. Really gets that club going around them too, you know. Really boom. A lot of lag in it. A lot of lag in it. But yeah, nice balance finish. And as you know, we preach that. Get to a nice balanced finish right now. will go in the backyard and just make a nice balanced finish about 50 times and your golf swing will be better. That’s something you can work on at home without um having a ball or anything like that. Just go in the backyard and and let it happen. You know what I mean? So Tom Gillis here, Tom Gillis Golf instruction. Just a quick eyeball on Sergio. Just good athletic position like that. Nothing too crazy. He’s not hunched over too much or, you know, his back’s not rounded. He’s, you know, his knees aren’t bent severely. Stuff like that. Stuff you want to avoid. So, copy these guys if you want to get better at a dress. You know, definitely copy their athletic posture and they don’t look like they’re hurting doing anything like that.
