Garrick Higgo reflected on a roller-coaster final round marked by resilience and precision. “My tempo just felt slightly off,” he said. “You just can’t really be off slightly when someone like Steven is playing that good.”

After two bogeys, Higgo regrouped in style: “I just reset. I didn’t really react to it. It’s easy to try and force it — I just tried to hit good shots, stay patient, and make the swings I know I can make.” The result? Four birdies in a row and another impressive finish to continue his strong FedExCup climb.

He also laughed about a missed short putt late in the round: “Yeah, I was just as shocked as you were. Those are pretty routine for me.”

Garrick, your uh your game’s obviously in really good shape, but did it just feel a little bit different today? Yeah, I just didn’t feel like I I don’t know, you know, tempo, it just felt slightly off. Um and obviously, you know, Steven played that good, you just can’t really be off slightly like on 10 and 11. Like my foreign on 10 just wasn’t. I was trying to hit like a nice little high fade with four iron to hold it against the wind and just pulled it. Um and then I felt like I hit a good part as well. It just broke more than I thought. Um, and then on 11, it did actually didn’t feel like a bad swing, but into the wind with a hybrid, like everything’s going to be exaggerated. And obviously that just ended up being, you know, just just a mess of a hole. After you made those two bogeies, did did your mindset change? Cuz often, you know, like when you’re sort of in that situation, you just go for it. And you ended up making four birdies in a row. How did how did you adjust to that? I mean, I just reset. I didn’t really try and I didn’t really react to it. like it’s easy to either force it. Um I just try to hit good shots, stay patient, you know, make the swings that I know I can make. Um and I felt like I did a good job of that and just and just puted the way I know I could putt. So yeah, after those four birdies in a row, you hit it pretty tight there on 17. What was the deal with that putt there? I don’t know. I I I didn’t feel anything. Um the grain was pretty straight down. Obviously, I think there was a little bit of movement. I took it pretty straight and it moved slightly. Um, yeah, I was just as shocked as you were. You know, those those are pretty routine for me. So, this performance this week it going to move up just probably just outside the 60 number on the FedEx call. Um, moving forward goals to try and get in that 51 to 60. Yeah, I mean that’d be great. Um, I’m going to play Carbo and Sea Island. So, um, I’m looking forward to next week and then going back to South Africa for a little bit. All right, we go. Thank you. Yeah.
