Playing a UK Top 100 Golf Course from Home! | Garmin R10 + Home Tee Hero

Hello and welcome to the channel. Today we’re going to be doing a bit of an old school Garmin golf app home to her Hero round of golf. Haven’t played this app for a long time. I’ve been predominantly doing some awesome golf stuff, but I used to love this app. So, I’m going to give it another go. I’m going to play a short 9-hole course within the UK, one of the top 100 courses. So, we’re going back to a previous series effectively. But without any waffle, let’s get into where we are going today. So, we are heading up to Northampton to the Northampton Shire County Golf Club. This is ranked 92 in the top 100 UK courses. Built in 1910, it’s actually an 18hole course, but it plays like a 9-hole loop. That 9hole loop is 3,38 yards from the yellow te’s. That’s what we’re going to be playing today. And one of its historic members was Prince Albert, Duke of York, who captained the club in 1931. Bit history for you there. Bit of royalty in time with this course. Anyway, let’s get down to that first hole and see how we get on. All right. So, first hole is a par4, 449 y. Bit of a beast, actually. Um, let’s just take a quick look. Obviously, homeier is what it is, but we can see it’s quite open in our first stretch, which is probably around about where I’m going to hit it. And it narrows up. Got a bit of a bunker breaking at the fairway and then proper narrow as we head into the green. All right, first hit of the day. Not the best way to come out here. No warm-ups. standard. Extremely low. Hit the bottom of the club. Poor. Yeah, Mat’s just not even left the mat. Anyway, a long way to go. 248 y. Just going to play a hybrid. See if it gets back in play. Oh, that was probably good that got held up. Otherwise, that could have been bunker. But we got 111 left in. Just going to club up a little bit. We are out of the rough. Just deducting that 10%. The good old home t hero. So, actually going to play a 9 iron. This might be a bit much. Pitchment should have made it really. I’d rather go long. Great club choice. Look at that. On the money. Just outside of it. A bogey to start. Yeah, not the start I wanted, but it’s not horrendous. Anyway, we move on. Hole two. It’s a par five. 552 y. It’s massive. May just make that bit of fairway. That’s 230 y to reach that. There’s a little blob before it. Another low one. Oh yeah, just hitting the bottom of the club. I can feel that once again getting te’s hardly moved. Not what I need. So, we got a long way to go. I’m actually going to play a four iron. That’s a bit thin, hence the distance. But that’s not bad out of the rough. So, it’s deducted that 10%. Right. Still way to go. 169. Going to play a five iron. It should make it. Now, I hit heavy, hence the distance. Yeah, I just felt that. This new golf base mat just grips the club if you hit heavy, which it’s what you expect. 44 yards out the fairway. I can’t remember these little chipons of home. You got to be delicate. That’s going out to the right and short. Oh no. Oh, it’s giving me the plus three. Double bogey. Didn’t need that. That could have easily just been a bogey if not par if we’ have chipped a bit harder. But anyway, whole three. Just got a nice little par three. I say little. It’s 181 yards. It’s actually playing down a couple of yards as well. Uh, this is an awkward distance. I’m going to go forearm, but if I hit this well, it’s just going to be overkill. Five should make it. I’m just going to slow up the swing. Oh, wow. That was hit well. Stop. Yeah, that was a great strike. So, that’s what I was saying. If hit well, that’s what I’m hitting. I can hit that nearly 200 yards total. So, I’m happy with the strike, just not where it’s put me. So, we’re off the green in the rough. 15 yard chip on. Let’s try and get that hole out. That classic home hero hole out. Get in there. Yeah, that’ll do. We scraped the par. I’m happy with that. Great T-shot. Real good strike. Really like that. Just a shame that I am um couldn’t get that hole out because they are quite easy on home tier. I will say that I’ve had a few in the past. Anyway, hole four, par four, 354 large. It looks like I’m teeing off out of a bush. Got some foliage in the way of the screen here. Let’s just get some uh bit of sky view on it. There’s nothing blocking that line, so it should be all right. Yeah, that was good. It’s a shame set in the rough. It looks like I’ve got a tree overhanging as well. I’ve just noticed though, not playing home here for a while, same setting, same everything, my drive distance has improved. So, kudos to Awesome Golf and Hack Motion as well. Get down the link, check it out. Anyway, second shot. This is going to clip the tree. 100% it’s going to clip it. I’m going to try and factor that in. I’m going to go 99. I know what’s going to happen here. The only other thing I could do is try and keep it low, but I should go with it. Oh, that is low. That might actually work. No, it’s done nothing. A, that was such a bad top. Probably heard that. Anyway, 68 y the breath. I’m going to go get pitching wedge. Not full swing, obviously. That might be a bit cooked. No, it’s not. Stop there. Stop. Okay. All right, we’ll take the bogey. That was deserved. Just a poor thin shot there. I mean, it might not have made it anyway, but we continue. Hole five. Par 4. 446. Looks really open down there in classic home hero fashion. I have to clear some water. That didn’t feel right. Oh no, not a good strike. Not entirely sure where that hit. Might have been the top of the club. Right. Long way to go out the rough. 244. We’re just going to play a four iron. If we get nice shot that was out of the toe, so it’s not going to have the good distance. Felt tub club twist my hand. All right, 101 left in. We need to nail this green. Keep going. Keep going. Always good. [Applause] Par. Well earned. That was a great shot. Didn’t think it was going to make it. I think it was a little bit towy, but it got there. Hole six. Par three. 229. Wa wa wa. Massive. What T- box am I playing from? I’m playing right from the back here. Didn’t even give me an option. Yeah, that’s like driver. I think this is the second par three I think I played on home tier where I’m actually going to do I’m going to use driver. Get down there. Yeah, what a shot. I know it’s not on the green, but it was aiming towards it. Well, it would have kicked off the back, but we got a little chip on. 17 y out the rough. Let’s go. He’s ever done it. Damn. Way overdone it. Bogey on hole six. Bit pill to swallow considering the drive was okay. It was good. Anyway, hole seven par 4. It’s a short one comparison. 359. If this from the back T’s, God knows what it must be from the front. Let’s take a look. Yeah. Can you see down here on home t hero? So, there is a front tee there. Oh, there’s actually one there. That that that’s close. It’s high on the club face, but it will do. All right, got 125 left in flat as you can see at the top right of the screen there on Home Tero. I’m going to go 9 iron. A real strong pitch wedge for me will probably do it, but I’m not going to try and swing out the boots. Just need to hit it well. Not like that. Not what a horrendous top. I mean, there’s not much I can say about that. It’s just poor. Right. 77 yards out the rough. Um, it’s borderline a full swing pitch wedge cuz the rough really does deplete distance. That might be a bit too much. Is it not? It’s not enough, is it? What’s it going to do? Keep going. Oh yes, a beautiful par. All right, we’ve reached hole eight on plus five at the moment, which isn’t great, but it’s not the worst. Um, I’ve been quite impressed with my golf to this point. Don’t know about you guys. Get down in the comments. Appreciate negative or positive feedback, but we’ve got a par three, 166 yds. It’s playing slightly downhill. I’m going to try a sixiron. Good strike once again. Should make it, but we know what it’s like. Let’s just try. That is a tow strike. So, it’s not going to have the distance. No. It’s not the worst. At least we’re not in that bunker. So, we got another 17 yd chip on out the rough. Yeah, much better. Perfect as well. Just went to the left par. Come on. All right, then. Hole nine, the final hole. And before I do this hole, actually, I just want to say if you’re still with me, hit that like, hit that like button and that subscribe button. I really do appreciate your support for this channel. And get down the comments as well, just give me some positive feedback. Have you played this course? Have you played it? Is it local to you? Let me know. Right, par five, 479. Let’s try and get a birdie. No, I knew that was going left. Felt it. Seen it. Oh, it’s took a good bounce off the tree. Yeah, it’s just so poor. I I could I felt that. I think I hit the heel of it. Might have had the face a bit closed. Plus, it’s just pulled and hit the net. So, anyway, we are in some thick stuff with a lot of trees to contend with. Um, this might be medication time. You know, it’s putting me out there. I’m just going to hit it. You know, it’s going to clip trees, but hit it with something big and hopefully it’ll find its way through. Oh, that was poor. Oh, no. Oh, it’s hit trees. It’s done all sorts. That was just so bad. Oh, I think the birdie opportunity might have uh left us. It might have left us off the tea box to be honest. Right. Come on. Real bad toe strike there. Just took a lot out of it, but back in play, right, the fourth shot here. I mean, we got we’re up against it for a par. Bogey would be amazing right at this point, but 113 y. I’m going to go pitching wedge. This might be a bad choice cuz I just some reason I can’t get anything above 100 maybe at best 110 out of this. But it’s a big leap. N iron sort does jump now to about 130 at times, but come on. Oh my. Oh, I felt that instantly. Open face. I mean, we could get metrics up on that, can we? Where’s the club path? Look at that. So, just quickly for you guys, club path way to the left, but look at that club face over there. So, that is open almost 10°, right? 36 y. What can we salvage here, Ben? Stop. Oh, he’s overdone it. That’s double territory. Double. Yep. Damn. Ah, there it is. I’m not too displeased with that. I think there’s some really good shots in those nine holes. Uh, there is the score card by the way. I just got it up on the screen for you there. Yeah, it, you know, hole two getting a double and hole nine. You know, there’s there’s the double there as well. But, you know, I’m really happy with the pars. The bogeies I’ll take. I’ll take a few of them considering my handicap. But it was a good course. Really like that. I really enjoyed playing home to her Hero again. So, uh, hope you enjoyed that. Uh, do let me know if you enjoyed the Home Tero or if you’ve played this course I said before. Get down in the comments. As always, I’ll reply to all. I’ll see you on the next
