Beckley, W. Va. – For the first time since the 2023 season, the Wheeling University Women’s Golf team advanced to the team portion of the third round of the Mountain East Conference (MEC) Women’s Golf Championships. The Cardinals would finish sixth overall at the event, shooting a 1265 through three rounds as they wrapped up their fall season. The Cardinals would have one golfer crack the MEC’s All-Tournament team as they wrapped up the fall 2025 schedule.

That all-tournament team golfer was senior Ella Keffer, who set a new MEC Championship round PR, shooting a 79 over the final 18 holes of play. She would begin her day on the back nine, shooting par on her first hole of the day and, after doubling on hole 11, she would get one of those strokes back on hole 12. She would end up hitting par on five of the final six holes, and made the turn sitting at +2. Her front nine began with a double, but she hit her groove once again with two pars and a birdie to get one of those strokes back. She would end up hitting par on two more holes on the day and finished +5 to round out her day. It brought her score to 79 for the event as she finished in a tie for fifth to earn the spot on the All-Tournament.

The other Cardinals with a career best performance was sophomore Brielle Miljoan, who finished tied for 14th overall with a 267 through 54 holes. She would start off by adding three strokes to her score, but hit par on hole 12, followed by a birdie on hole 14 to bring her score to +4. She would add two more pars to finish out the back nine, and sat at +6 as she made the turn to the front nine. She would start things strong, shooting par on hole one and rounding out the day with five bogeys. She would finish the front nine at +11, shooting 89 for the round. Her 14th place finish was the highest finish in a championship event as she heads into the first half break looking to continue to grow off this success.

Rounding out the day for the Cardinals were Mallory Bozovich and Graci Fairman, who finished 28th and 27th respectively. Bozovich would wrap up her first conference championship event shooting a 134 to bring her three-day score to 381 as she is able to crack the top 30 of the event. Rounding out the day was Fairman, who finished with a 136, putting up a three-day score of 374 to set a PR in her first collegiate golf tournament.

The Wheeling University Women’s Golf team now heads into the first half break as they prepare for the spring season.
