I feel sorry for the majority of Americans, including my relatives in Seattle, who clearly weren't impressed by this infantile behaviour. I've never been there, but no way could 300 million regular people be proud of these morons. They're the same type of morons we dealt with during the worst of the hooligan years in the 80s. Not true fans at all. Just drunken trouble makers. We had this years ago, maybe not to the extent of targetting women, or even players, but we dealt with it, kicked all the morons out and sorted the problem. The pga has to be held accountable for this, for allowing it to go on unchecked as long as it did and not putting a stop to it. A simple warning on entry 'any spectators who shout out while 'any' player is addressing the ball will be immediately ejected. That's all it would have taken. Or for the captain to show some leadership and call it out… but no, just excuses – well i didn't see anything that crossed the line blah blah..
And Rory's wife is even American! How did they ever think all this wouldn't fire up the Europeans even more. Classic mistake by very obviously not real golf fans.
