ELK RIVER/LE SUEUR/BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The St. Olaf College men’s golf team wrapped up its fall schedule with a 10th-place finish at the three-day Twin Cities Classic held Saturday through Monday at Elk River Golf Club, Le Sueur Country Club, and Minnesota Valley Country Club.

Led by a top-15 performance by senior Isaac Schmidt, St. Olaf recorded a team score of 913 (+61) to place 10th in the 16-team field. The Oles put together rounds of 302 (+22), 308 (+28), and 303 (+11).

Schmidt finished as part of a four-way tie for 13th overall (224, +11) after rounds of 74 (+4), 75 (+5) and 75 (+2) and recorded a team-high nine birdies over the 54-hole event, with four coming on Saturday in Elk River. For the tournament, the senior played the par fours at three-over par (4.10) to rank third in the field.

Schmidt was five shots ahead of sophomore Ryan Herbst, who tied for 22nd (229, +16) with rounds of 75 (+5), 75 (+5), and 79 (+6). Sophomore Will Black tied for 28th (230, +17), highlighted by a final-round 77 (+4) that included an eagle on the 549-yard fifth hole on Monday.

Junior Ike Vessey shot a final-round 75 (+2) to rise 11 spots and wind up in a tie for 55th (238, +25), while classmate Quinn Nevell was two shots back in a tie for 63rd (240, +27).
