LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men’s golf team will play in the televised second annual Notah Begay III (NB3) Match Play at Twin Warriors presented by The Pueblo of Santa Ana in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico. The three-day event will be broadcast live on the Golf Channel from Tuesday-Wednesday, Oct. 7-8.
TV COVERAGE: Tuesday’s coverage airs from 2:30-5:30 p.m. PT, while Wednesday’s broadcast runs from 1:30-4:30 p.m. PT.
THE FIELD: Also slated to compete in the four-team men’s field are Oregon, New Mexico and New Mexico State. Another four teams will play in the women’s field, including Arizona, UNM, NMSU and Texas A&M.
REBEL LINEUP: Representing the Rebels will be seniors Trevor Lewis, Wyatt Plattner, Brett Sawaia and Billy Smith, as well as juniors Zach Little and Ryan Abuan.
FORMAT: The event will use the round robin match play format. A total of five points will be available in each match and the winners will be determined by total points won. An individual match win will score one point and ties will be scored as one-half of a point.
SCHEDULE: Each team will play 36 holes on the first day of action, followed by 18 holes on the final day. The Scarlet & Gray will take on UNM in the first round, NMSU in the second round and Oregon in the final round.
TEE TIMES: Play begins with Tuesday’s 6:30 a.m. PT shotgun start. Round two will start soon after the first round matches are complete. The third round is projected to get underway Wednesday at 10 a.m. PT.
