TGL season 2 is locked and loaded. The second campaign of the tech-infused, made-for-TV, indoor golf league backed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy has announced the lineup for its upcoming 2026 season, which will actually start in late 2025.
TGL stands for Tomorrow’s Golf League. There are six teams made up of PGA Tour pros who compete at the SoFi Center, a 250,000-square-foot venue on the campus of Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
The second season of TGL starts Sunday, Dec. 28, at 3 p.m. ET. The December date is a soft spot in the college football bowl season as there are no bowl games scheduled for that Sunday but it will still be an NFL Sunday, with seven games scheduled for that day.
The TGL opener will be live on ABC, marking its network television debut. All TGL matches last season were on ESPN or ESPN2. The season opener will be the New York Golf Club (Matt Fitzpatrick, Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele, Cameron Young) taking on Atlanta Drive GC (Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Billy Horschel, Lucas Glover ), which is a rematch of the inaugural season’s Finals.
TGL says:
“The Season 2 schedule includes 15 regular season matches, followed by TGL’s playoffs featuring the top four teams in the SoFi Cup Standings, culminating in a best-of-three Finals on Monday, March 23, and Tuesday, March 24. Throughout the TGL season, matches will air in the U.S. on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and the ESPN App.
TGL golf format, how the league works
Each match will feature two sessions with different formats. Session 1 will be nine holes of “Triples,” three vs. three team alternate shot. Session 2 is six holes of “Singles,” a head-to-head competition where each competitor plays two holes.
What is the TGL point system?
The TGL regular season points system resembles the NHL: A win in regulation or overtime is worth 2 points, a loss in overtime is good for 1 point, and a loss in regulation is worth 0 points. At the end of the regular season, four teams make the playoffs.
