Luke Donald has left European golf fans with a cryptic clue as to whether he will remain on as Ryder Cup captain in 2027.
Donald, 47, took to his Instagram a week removed from leading Europe to their fifth away Ryder Cup win with a 15-13 victory at Bethpage in New York.
Europe also became the first away side to win the Ryder Cup since Medinah in 2012 last Sunday.
Not only that, the popular Englishman became the first captain since his compatriot Tony Jacklin in 1989 to win two Ryder Cups on the bounce.
Donald now has a chance to become the first and only captain in Ryder Cup history, dating all the way back to the very start in 1927, to win three cups in a row.

But will he accept the challenge?
That’s the big question on everyone’s lips right now.
Will Donald have two more years?
European players and fans are seemingly more than happy with Donald remaining in the hot seat as “two more years” rung out during the victory celebrations at Bethpage, just as it did when Donald led Europe to a five-point victory at Marco Simone in 2023.
Tommy Fleetwood last week claimed “the ball is probably in Luke’s court” since he has earned the right to decide whether he wants to keep hold of the captain’s armband for Ireland in 2027.

Should Donald and his wife Diane not elect to continue for a third contest in a row, it will leave the door open for a number of European Ryder Cup legends such as Justin Rose and Francesco Molinari.
Or perhaps even a second bite at the cherry – and on home turf too – for Ireland’s three-time major champion Padraig Harrington, who skippered the Europeans to a record 19-9 defeat at Whistling Straits in 2021.
Another name who is being thrown into the conversation is Molinari’s brother Edoardo, who Matt Fitzpatrick last week claimed is “number one in the business by a complete mile” when it comes to statistical analysis for foursomes and fourballs pairings.
But it is widely understood the decision rests in Donald’s hands over the coming weeks.

Here at GolfMagic, we think the lure of an outright record three-peat will be too much for Donald to turn down.
The bookies certainly think that way too as Donald’s odds to remain on as captain have been slashed from 7/4 down to evens over the last week.
Donald last week took to social media to pile praise on defeated captain Keegan Bradley following their Bethpage clash.
