Steven Fisk a long ways away at the second. You know, a rookie in this position for the first time coming out and getting a birdie under your belt early just takes a lot of the heat off. [Applause] I love the way he flew that up there. That was not that easy. Had a lot of green to work with off an ups slope. Good catch on the right side and nice bounce back after the boat he made on the fourth. 277 down the bunker on the right. Wind starting to die down. Just into that first cut. Looks like it’s sitting okay. You don’t want to go over the screen. Oh, he did not. Left himself a good look for birdie. Yeah, great look here. He’s got this play just outside right there is a leaderboard just to the left of the green here at the eighth. And both of these players has looked at the leaderboard. They know the standings. Yep. Calmly poured that one in. Billy Ray with some confidence. And now Steven is within one. Wind back into their face. That bunker down the left hand side. Very reachable. Begging for it to come. Oh, he got it. That’s a big carry back into the wind. Go right on the line that he wanted. I mean, that is just beautiful right there. Like, you’re not like Billy Ray said, you’re not even thinking about that flag. That That was as far right as he ever wanted to hit that. Just spectacular. Trying to win for the first time and he absolutely monies it. So, Higo misses his short one. Fisk makes his and suddenly 20 under par is back on top of the leaderboard and it’s a new name. [Music] Ah, this one headed right as well. Gave that a little bit extra power, a little extra swing speed on that one. Trying to get it to be reachable. Come out of a really hot lie. Trying to chase it up there. This ball should have some tumble. He’ll have a little bit of green to work with. Back to Fisk in his third. A straightforward little pitch. Plenty of green to work with here. Pretty good lie. All right, not bad. It’s going to be a little bit downhill from there. Going to be a pretty quick putt. Oh yeah, he does. Oh, the fist bump as well. He knows the importance of that one. Taking advantage of the par five 14th. And Fisk is now at 21 under bar. Damn it. And this one headed right [Music] up. Just seemed off the entire time he was there. It is one of the more uncomfortable T-shots on the PGA Tour. Was standing on that 16th T. And get this ball somewhere about 35 ft on the green. Total guess work and you cannot miss left here. right in that white post. That’s perfect. That’s exactly what he needed to do. And I’m going to push back a little bit. He’s a young player. He did win on the Cornfair Tour last year. What a putt. Oh, and it goes in from way. Steven Fisk. Jets out to 22 under bar. So now Higo knows exactly what he needs to do on the other side of the hole. What a putt. Come on. I mean, you think he’s not into it. I love seeing that intensity. Uh starts on a great line. Oh, it’s so well done. These two guys are getting after each other. You got to love it. If he gets in here close, he applies the pressure right to Higgins. Oh, like that. What an approach for Steven Fisk as he continues to apply that pressure like you said, Billy Ray. Yep. And Steven Fisk now has the lead all to himself at 23 under par. his best ever finish on the PGA Tour. A tie for fourth. Great ball there, bud. Quick to pick the tea up. This is hammered. Full commitment. Just his performance today. One one hiccup. I know he made a bogey on the on the fourth. [Music] Likes it. Oh, and he should. He’s trying to seal it and he may have with that shot right there. Backto back irons at 17 and 18. Now, I think this whole playing downwind makes it much easier. So, he’s hitting a pitching wedge into the screen, but it’s a back pin. He’s got a one shot lead. He’s jacked up. He’s about to go win his first PGA Tour event and he hits maybe one of the best shots that he could possibly have have hit. It was It was remarkable. If that’s another five yards left, I mean, we saw it with Ben Griffin here two years ago to that pin. Missed it left. And this is my favorite part of it. And he did this on the last hole, too. Tracking this ball up, down, up, down. That means it is right at that stick. [Applause] Get the hole. Savor the moment, Stephen. You are now a PGA Tour winner for the very first time. Steven Fisk has won the Sanderson Farms Championship and he did it in style coming down the stretch. When he needed it most, he came up big. Oh my god. And that is the look and sound of pure joy. It’s an individual sport, but it’s a team game there in the Fisk family. [Applause] Let’s go. Go Steven. Just amazing to see life-changing moments shared with family. And we got a few things to talk about, especially that closing stretch. You’ve already four of your last five, 16, 17, 18 were big. What attitude did you bring to the golf course in that stretch? I came out today um with an attitude that nothing was going to stop me from what I wanted, no matter what happened, no matter what shots I hit. Um, I just felt like I’d be standing right here, right now before today started. Why did you think that? Self-belief, grit. Um, I know I’m good enough. I thought I could do it. You fought your way from the Cornfair Tour to the PGA Tour. You’re a rookie here. I know you’re fighting to keep your card for next year. You don’t have to worry about that. You’re exempt through 27 now. How emotionally impactful is it to hear your name beside PGA Tour winner? It’s a lifelong dream, honestly. Um, sometimes you doubt yourself, but I don’t know. Like I said, I knew I could do it. And to have some job security is pretty nice. It’s been a long hard year. Yeah, it has. And now, did you have a win? Does this elevate goals for you in your head moving forward? Um, no. I try and do the same thing every week, and it finally worked. It worked out beautifully. Congratulations.
