Do you ever feel like you’re hitting really good
putts, but they’re just not dropping? Well, the truth is putting isn’t about perfect mechanics.
It’s all about the little details that make your stroke more consistent and your reads more
accurate. Today, I’m sharing three tips that I wish I knew sooner. They’re simple, easy to apply,
and will instantly improve your confidence around the greens. And if you’re new to the channel,
welcome. I’m Mario. I’m a scratch golfer. And here on this channel, I give you tips, strategies,
and techniques on how to improve your game. All right, tip number one. Get your nose over the
golf ball. This tip is one that I wish I knew way sooner. At the setup position, your nose should
be directly over the golf ball. Why? Because it ensures that your eyes are properly aligned,
which helps you see the true line of the putt. In the video, you’re seeing my nose almost
directly over the ball. So, if I were to drop a golf ball directly down from my nose, it would
ideally hit the the ball on the ground. When your nose is over the ball like this, your stroke has
a better tendency to stay online. And as a result, you’ll eliminate a lot of misreads just
from setting up correctly. And by the way, to help you unlock a more consistent setup, I’ve
actually put together a free setup checklist in the description box below. You can actually print
it off, take it with you next time that you’re practicing to make sure that you’re aligned right
every time. Be sure to grab that before you leave. All right, tip number two. Aim at the peak of the
break. Most golfers only aim at the hole and hope that you know it just breaks into the hole.
Well, the problem is if you’re not aiming at the highest point of the break, you’re actually
setting yourself up to miss the putt. All right, here’s the key to do that. When you’re reading
a putt, trace the slope with your eyes and find the absolute peak of the break. That’s where
gravity is actually going to start taking the ball downhill. So aim your putter face there. That
should be your aiming point, not at the hole. Then all you need to do is trust your stroke. Even if
it looks like you’re aiming away from the hole, that’s the correct read. This change alone will
help you save strokes because it helps you start the ball on the right line, letting gravity do the
rest. All right, tip number three. But before I go into it, if you’ve liked this video, do me a
favor and hit that like and subscribe button because when you do, it helps me grow the channel,
but it also helps me create even more free content for you. And drop a comment below. Let me know
which one of these tips so far you’re going to try first and what you struggle with the most. I read
every comment and often create videos based on the feedback that I receive from you all. All right,
and tip number three, get square at setup. All right. One of the most overlooked keys in putting
is alignment. Not just your putter, but your whole body. Right? Your your shoulders, your knees, your
feet, and your hips all need to be square. Here’s why. If your body is open or closed, your stroke
path will likely follow that alignment. Pulling or pushing the putts, even if your stroke
feels perfect. So, here’s a quick drill. Lay down two clubs, one along your toe line and
one along your shoulder line. And practice just setting up square until it feels natural. Practice
setting up square until it feels natural. Because when you have a square body in a square stroke in
the right line, you’re going to start making more putts. And don’t forget to grab my free golf setup
checklist in the description box below. It’s a simple step-by-step guide to make sure that you’re
setting up properly every time. So, to recap, make sure your nose is over the ball. Always
aim at the peak of the break and keep your body square. These three adjustments can make a massive
difference in your consistency and confidence on the greens. And if you’re serious about taking
