Brought to you by old trapper
beef jerky. It’s a favorite
meat in the bag on the show. Wednesday, October 1st. Jamie
Erdahl. Look at this crew today.
I’m going to have to do next to nothing. Manti Te’o. Isaiah
Stanback, ever the professional.
Seth Rollins showing up. You look great, Seth. We love to
see it. And Kyle Brandt. Let’s
go. FOMO meter. What’s your scale set at right now, Kyle? I
feel like I have none because
my entire social media algorithm is just videos of
Seth all the time. Because we
work together. It’s just Seth. Seth. Seth. And I’m watching
one on the drive in today. Seth.
In the middle of the ring on raw. And he’s saying that he is
the future of that company. And
don’t waste your time booing and cheering. It’s not about
Cody Rhodes. It’s about me. So,
Seth, you throw to the show up and you take it over. Go ahead.
Oh me. Yes, it is about me.
Welcome, America. Welcome the world to. Good Morning Football.
Yeah. Come on. Welcome to Good
Morning Football, presented by old trapper Kyle Brandt. How
dare you? You know how people
are terrified of AI taking their jobs. And the kids that
are coming out of college are
like, what am I supposed to do with myself? I want entry level
positions. You’re having this
maniac to my right. Throw to the show open. Like, what are
we supposed to do at this point?
If he can do everything, then we do nothing. So can you just
not. Seth? No, no. All love. I
need you guys, man, I need you. This is family. I would never,
I would never, especially to a
Vikings fan, I would never. Oh, yeah. We need you. We need you
to be the laughing stock of the
North. That’s what we need. That’s what we need. Super Bowl.
Just wait until Seth starts
throwing a rap sheet for his injury reports. Let’s do it all.
Come on. Oh my gosh. All right,
well, shall I take over the start of the conversation show.
All right, we’ll take the lead.
Lead block, if you will. Shall we? On Gmfb on Sunday, when the
Giants upset the visiting LA
Chargers, they became the first zero three team to beat A30
team since week four of 2008.
Mason, you hear, is for Jack Zegart, who makes his first NFL
start. Design run up the middle.
He goes to the tight for the touchdown. Giants Jaxson Dart
got a quarterback draw from 15
yards out in his first start. Gives the Giants the lead.
Little shovel pass for Theo
Johnson. Makes the catch into the end zone. Touchdown. Giants
and the Giants have won for the
first time this year in Jaxson Dart first ever start. Hey big
boy 3123 boom boom. Why does it
still work? Like the crescendo of a violin and you got the
rookie quarterback for the
Giants or the Eyeblack and doing a TikTok dance. Somehow
it all fits and it’s all
working for the Giants. Jaxson Dart provided a spark for New
York that they so badly needed
in week four to take down the Chargers. So here’s a question
how did the Giants ride this
momentum and not just make it man. See a flash in the pan
instead. Carried over week five
against the Saints. How did they do it. You got to ride on
cam. That’s what I truly
believe. Now that Malik Nabers is out for the year, there’s
going to be something they’re
going to have to figure out in the pass game. You don’t want
Jaxson Dart trying to figure
that out on the fly. Now you do have the Saints that’s coming
up this week. And I really do
think and I believe that if you’re going to make any type
of noise, this is the type of
team that you make the noise against. See there’s three
types of teams in this league.
There’s a good team, there’s a bad team. And the great teams,
the bad teams lose to the to
everybody. The good teams beat those who they’re supposed to
beat. But the guys that they’re
not supposed to beat, they kind of lose to them. They fought
the great teams, they beat
everybody. This is going to be one of those games. When I look
at this Giants team, you beat a
really good team. Not just not not not just a good team, a
really good team. And the
Chargers, can you do it against a team like the Saints, where a
lot of people are looking at
you and like, you should win this game, those teams that
aren’t ready for success lose
these games. So this is the way that I think that they’re able
to follow up. A really good
week. With Jaxson Dart. Starting his first game is get
cam going feed cam until Jaxson
Dart figures out who his favorite target is. Next. Yeah
I’m going to stay right with
the defense. Your defense is absolutely the best unit that
you have on your team. So allow
that defensive line to go do what they do. And that is hunt
quarterbacks. You got big sexy
dexy on the inside. You got Brian Burns going on one side.
You got Kayvon Thibodeaux and
then you got Abdul Carter. Those guys are your goons on
your team. Let them eat. How
can you allow for them to eat? Well you can possess the ball
for as long as possible.
Offensively give the ball to scatter boot run the ball every
now and then with Jaxson dart.
But do not make Jaxson dart your primary runner on this
team because I do not want to
see this young man get hurt or get hurt. He’s been getting hit
a whole lot in the game that he
played. Do not allow for him to even be susceptible to any kind
of injury. Rely on your defense.
Give the ball to your boy. Scatter. Boo! Nah. Come on.
He’s a young cat. He’s built to
get hit, man. He’s built for it. Look, I’m going to go the total
opposite direction. I think you
go all in with Jaxson Dart. You play to his strengths. You
mentioned Nabers out with the
knee injury. That’s tragic. But this is your boy. He’s going to
be your guy of the future. Yes.
You want him not to get hurt. You’re going to have to play to
his strengths. And we saw what
his strengths were in this game against the Chargers. Huge
shock huge upset. New Orleans
different type of opponent. But there is now film on Jaxson
Dart. That was the thing. The
Chargers didn’t know what they were getting themselves into
with Jaxson Dart. You know Russ
Wilson in a Giants uniform in that backfield. You kind of
knew what you were getting with
Russ. We had no idea this was coming. We had no I had no idea
this was coming. I didn’t think
he had it in him. He’s got that dog in him. I’m excited to see
what kind of wrinkles they can
draw up with him in the running game. To me, that’s the way to
go. You’re going to have to
kind of spice things up now that they know what it looks
like. So I’m excited to see
that play that we just showed was a third and short. When the
Giants have a lead in in the
fourth quarter and Jaxson Dart decides to just make a play,
you guys are talking from a
football perspective, I totally respect. I’m here in New York,
and I just want to talk a
little bit about the vibes and the feeling here. It’s so
important what happened in that
last weekend, the game against the Chargers, because over so
many years, the Giants have had
a cool problem. Not only are they not good, they haven’t
been cool at all. Like the
product, the image, everything has been bad. They don’t win
and they’re not fun. They play
in this cold gray edifice in new Jersey with this cold gray
product. You know how
depressing you have to be for the local football fans to look
for something more optimistic.
They have to go to a Jets game, and that is absolutely true.
But if you look at these Giants
quarterbacks over the years and to Jaxson Dart, Phil Simms,
cool played the coldest Super
Bowl of all time. Eli Manning you think he’s the dorky little
brother. Put him in a big game
and he’s the coolest guy on the planet. They have been missing
that sort of swagger and
flamboyance and cool factor for a long time. And I’ve told the
story before. I live in the New
York suburbs. I want you to pay attention to that. I am in the
heart of giants. Country giants
fans everywhere I go to my sixth graders school, the sixth
graders come out of the school.
Nobody’s wearing a Giants jersey. These are huge NFL fans.
These kids I see Josh Allen,
Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes. Even worse, I see Jayden
Daniels, a rival of the Giants,
my own son, my flesh and blood goes to school in Giants
territory wearing a Jalen Hurts
jersey and no one bats an eye in 1987. If he did that, my son
would get jumped. It’d be over.
I’d have to go and help him and get him out of the principal’s
office. You don’t wear an
Eagles jersey here. They don’t care now. Because honestly, the
only Giants jerseys you see at
my kids school are Saquon jerseys. And that’s a whole
different kind of embarrassment.
The fact that they could get the Jaxson Dart jersey. That’s
a cool guy. He plays well. He’s
got a swagger. He’s fun. The Giants have been missing all of
that. I mean listen you may
roll your eyes at this, but I don’t know if you’re paying
attention. There is a whole
young generation of fans who are falling in love with the
NFL, and they need heroes. And
I’m talking about fans that are too young for Josh Allen, for
Joe Burrow, for Lamar Jackson.
Who’s got next? These fans are looking at this guy and being
like, that kid’s incredible. I
want to go and play Roblox and watch the NFL and talk about
Jaxson Dart. They have
something cool and young, and if he continues to play well,
like you guys are saying,
there’s nothing like being a star in New York and there’s
nothing like being a star
quarterback. He has the potential just to keep balling
and he will have this city in
love with him. I want to keep pulling at that thread though,
Kyle, because while we often
look at players, young players in the league right now as
products of nil, and they’re
rich and they’re coddled and their personalities are just
kind of put on a platter and
they show up in the NFL and they make their life about
business. However, they’ve been
doing it for five years. What Jaxson Dart has done from his
time at Ole Miss, playing under
Lane Kiffin and now with the Giants is he is authentically
himself. He has continued to be
the same big time personality from college all the way
through the draft to now, and
not for nothing but Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss. With all the
headlines and all the chatter
that the head coach at Ole Miss has been about in the last week.
They went to LSU last week and
they dismantled a number four team in the country. Now Jaxson
Dart goes to New Orleans this
weekend not very far from Baton Rouge and attempts to do the
same thing. And I’m saying if
things come in pairs or threes. But there is something
happening with Lane Kiffin, who
has grown as a human and as an adult, as a head coach in
football and the story that he
has lived, just buying and applauding and cheering on his
college quarterback in the NFL.
Now, I think there’s something there that people buy into the
authenticity. All that being
said, that clip that we keep saying of Jaxson Dart embracing
kind of in the most intense
manner possible. Brian Daboll in the postgame. There’s
something there, Kyle, I just
want to I’m curious about what you think of Daboll and his
response after watching Daboll
just go through it with these quarterbacks that he’s been
with, watching him celebrate
with dart after the game was something to behold. Well
listen he got to pick Jaxson
Dart. We we we championed these young offensive coaches and
they won’t become head coaches.
They don’t get to pick their quarterbacks. It’s the oldest
story in the world. But I got
to say Seth, the way I’m describing Jaxson Dart and the
way I’m seeing him hug his
coach and then you see the mom in the crowd and he’s dancing
and he’s got makeup on. I mean,
this guy seems like a professional wrestler, and I
mean that in the best possible
sense. You know this, like, there’s so much in the cell and
the flamboyance. I feel like
his mom is like the manager up there. And then. And then he’s
got his teammates and his tag
team partner. This guy could walk into raw or WrestleMania
and he feels the part, don’t
you think? Yeah, I mean, that’s a big thing too. You mentioned
the personality part of it, the
cool part of it, the cool side of it, and he’s got all that.
He’s got that swag and he’s not
afraid to show it. So he understands. Yes, it’s sports,
but it’s business. On the other
side of it. You’re in a huge market like New York City. And
you’re right, Kyle. They have
been waiting. Waiting with dart. They got something there. They
got a hell of a tag team, man.
Something. Something is brewing in New York City, baby. I’ll
tell you that. What the Giants
accomplished last weekend against the Chargers is
something that many teams in
the NFL covet, which is make a change at quarterback and
provide a spark that will
result in wins. Ian Rapoport, welcome in to the program. Our
NFL Network Insider. Joining us
this morning Rapsheet. Are there some other teams that are
looking for the Jaxson Dart
effect to take over their city. And what decisions let’s say
for the Cleveland Browns, could
we be looking at as they head across the pond. Let’s go right
to that running game. Obviously
the Cleveland Browns are in focus now with first of all
struggles from Joe Flacco.
Really over the last several games. Had some moments but
certainly some struggles. Kevin
Stefanski several times over the course of the past three
days, having the opportunity to
say, Joe Flacco is my starter. He’s starting no questions
asked has not quite said that,
has said generally what we hear coaches say in this instance,
which is the entire offense
needs to be better. That’s what our focus is getting the entire
unit to be more productive. So
still an open question for the Browns. Is it going to be Joe
Flacco or is it going to be
Dillon Gabriel, the third rounder who really impressed in
training camp, impressed enough
to be the backup over Sanders? And I would say very limited
duty earlier this season looked
pretty good, looked pretty solid. There’s a lot to like
for Dillon Gabriel. I mean, he
is he is fast. He is fun. He’s a little on the shorter side.
So short kings like me can
stand up. If this does end up happening for the Cleveland
Browns, they potential look at
the future. We’ll see what the ultimate decision by Stefanski
is. And then for their opponent
in London, the Minnesota Vikings surely seems like
Carson Wentz is going to start
again. J.J. McCarthy though some progress from a high ankle
sprain. The hope is that he’s
going to get some time in practice on the field. Getting
some reps probably won’t play
this week, but gearing up to play after the bye for the
Minnesota Vikings. Rapsheet. It
takes a very big man to call himself a short king. You are
larger than life on our program.
We appreciate you as always. Yeah, you know what? We are of
equal stature when it comes to
the TV boxes. No apple boxes here, my friend. All right. We
love you, Rapsheet. You’re the
best. We’ll talk to you in a little bit. I’m here. Speaking
of snooze off. Game on. Don’t
let that snooze button go to waste when you have kickoff to
watch. 6:30 a.m. Pacific time,
9:30 a.m. eastern. Sunday morning football continues in
London. Presented by NetApp,
Justin Jefferson and the Vikings against Myles Garrett
and the Cleveland Browns Sunday
9:30 a.m. eastern only on NFL network. Or you can stream it
on nfl+, which requires a
subscription for Nfl+. Visit NFL.com for terms. Coming up on
our show though, we got to get
to work. All right Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Beep beep beep beep beep beep
beep. Sometimes you just need that button to delay what you
hear from some quarterbacks out
there. They’re so passionate about how they play. But which
is more impressive about what
he’s put out on the field. The fact that he’s doing it at his
age, or the colorful commentary
that comes along with it. Kyle Brandt, what’s Stafford up to?
Great question. We’re going to
get the answers. Plus everybody loves him. Everybody’s watched
him Jamie Erdahl got to hang.
Is that Bill Murray Phil Connors yes. Jamie hung out
with Bill Murray. That’s an
unusual, mercurial guy. He doesn’t have an agent. He
doesn’t have a phone, all that
stuff. But somehow Jamie still found him. We’re going to get
into why and what happened
after this. Good morning. Football is presented by old
trapper. Beef jerky. What’s
your beef? Old trapper beefs drive buzzed. I’m saying wild
stuff. I was actually miked up
today and I was coming off the field. I’m like, hey, man,
we’re gonna have to. We’re
gonna have to do some heavy editing. It’ll probably just be
a lot of silence. Released the
Stafford cut. I want to hear what he said on Matthew
Stafford not known for
soundbites. If he says he had one, I want to hear it. Yeah.
We don’t accept dead air on
Good Morning football for Whiteboard Wednesday. Kyle, you
heard it. Stafford admitted
that he had some not so PG 13 words. Now some players take
the stance that they do that on
purpose or they stop getting miked up. That doesn’t really
apply to the quarterback.
They’re always going to want to hear what you have to say. The
Rams played the Colts on Sunday
and Kyle requested the director’s cut. Well, Kyle, ask
and you shall receive. Here was
Stafford on his touchdown pass to Tutu Atwell. Buckle up. Oh
God oh my god I told you. I
told you I oh they just leaned right into that one I love it a
Georgia bulldog and a bleeping
dog. All right dawg we always want to clarify here on this
show what kind of dog you are
Matthew Stafford. We love that you know it about yourself.
However, here’s the challenge
at the table. Keep it clean. What word would you guys
describe? Matthew I know, did
you just shake your head and you have to raise your word now?
Club. Go ahead. Manci. What
word? One word. One animal. He’s an anglerfish, okay? He’s
a nice fish. He’s an anglerfish.
Okay. The reason why he’s an anglerfish. Guys, is this how
many times during the training
camp did we have the staff con go up there like, there’s
there’s a there’s an injury.
When he was a Detroit Lion, I can hear he hurt his his
shoulder in that that Cleveland
Browns game. Yeah. He still goes out there. He like lures
you in. He’s like I’m hurt.
There’s an issue here. You should you shouldn’t be worried
about me. And then he goes out
there and throws for a whole bunch of touchdowns and a whole
bunch of yards. Matt Stafford
to me is the anglerfish. He’s just he throws an injury out
there. He has this little van
that helps him recover. And then he just goes out and plays
like he’s 25 years old. So I
got Matt Stafford. He’s my anglerfish. You are an artiste.
Yes sir. And also like the
technicality that is one word. Well done. However, it can be a
word or a phrase because I know
the creativity lends itself sometimes, like the brain has
to go a certain way. So go
ahead. All right. Here we go. So I’m going to go straight to
my picture right here. If you
guys can bring my picture up Jamie I want you to go ahead
and tell me what movie this is.
Yeah. What movie is this? Beauty and the beast. Beauty
and the what? The beast. Beauty
and the beast. That’s right. Matthew Stafford is a complete
beast. I love everything about
this dude. This dude. All he does is win. He’s one heck of a
competitor. You want to talk
about the game that we just saw? This dude had 375 yards passing,
7,070% completion in terms of
his career, over 60,000 yards passing. He is 10th all time in
passing. That’s over Eli
Manning. That’s over. Warren Moon that’s over John Elway. Oh,
and he has some jewelry to show
for it I like this dude. He’s a beast. And he kind of looks
like Eric when he comes to life
after being the beast he does. Right. What’s up Kyle. It’s
kind of weird that Bell was in
love with an animal. It’s always kind of kind of strange.
All right? I mean, it’s a
little weird. Guys, let’s not say, looking at his heart, she
valued who he was going on in
that castle. No, Kyle, he was no Jamie dancing there, close,
like, magical and caring. And
he loves her for who she was. That is not a tale as old as
time. Love. Let’s go back to
your books, Bell a time. He was thoughtful about her father,
Rose. You know, he said you can
go check in on her death. Gaston is the man she should
have been with. Gaston. All
right, here we go. I have, for some reason, with Seth here. I
just have pro wrestling on the
mind. And. Seth, I’m interested what you think of this. I have
a pro wrestling comp for
Matthew Stafford. This this guy right here, it’s it’s Randy
Orton. Dude, this this is the
guy. Longevity. Consistency. He’s not always the face of
things, but he’s always super
respected. And he’s powerful and dominant. And there’s been
resurgences late in their
careers. And their careers just seem to keep getting better and
better. Huge physical talent.
Randy Orton has won the belts. Stafford has won the Lombardi.
Like this is my guy Seth, tell
me I’m wrong. I love both these dudes. Dude, I think you and I
are like connected today. Maybe
it’s the bears fit. Maybe there’s something going on
because that’s a perfect
example. And it segues right into mine, which there’s no
profanity, I promise. Let’s go
work. Underrated okay. Underrated. And the reason I
say that is kind of piggybacks
on what everybody’s saying here. You mentioned all the stats
Isaiah Kyle you mentioned Randy
Orton. Perfect example. He’s a guy who does it all. He’s got
the hardware I’m not going to
go into the stats. You got all that done. He’s got all the
numbers to be the the greatest
quarterback of this generation. But he doesn’t get that love.
He doesn’t get like the Pat
Mahomes love. He doesn’t get to talk like Jalen Hurts. He just
doesn’t get that I mean you
mentioned John Elway one of the greatest of all time Matthew
Stafford arguably better. And
he still got years left to play. And so I just think he kind of
gets like left off of these
lists. When people start talking about Goat level
quarterbacks. And maybe that’s
because he played in Detroit for so many years I don’t know.
But you look at him now, he’s a
baller. He makes everybody on his team better like he is. He
is always there no matter how
hurt he is. I was not sure if you were going like ugly, ugly.
I was like, what are we doing
here with this? I mean, he’s a he’s a nice looking guy, you
know what I’m saying? I don’t
know for sure. No Gaston, no Gaston. But he’s okay. Yeah.
And like, the thing is, he just
delivers in crunch time. He said it himself. He’s a dog.
Yeah. And so that’s how I feel
about him. A little underrated a little underappreciated okay.
My feeling on Stafford baby a
four time main character arc of Whiteboard Wednesday means the
second round has got to go
quick. All right, everybody, so write your answers and explain
yourself swimmingly, shall we?
The Jets go to zero and four after their Monday night loss
to the Miami Dolphins. They now
have the Cowboys waiting in the wings in week five, a game that
Garrett Wilson says they got to
have this past week was a got to have it. And the fact we
just played how we did and I
just this becomes an absolutely got to have it got to get on
the board. It’s a home game.
Protect our protect our home field. And and just at the end
of the day, what do you want
your legacy to be in this in this league man I look back on
my time and man we got to we
got to go now. We got to have it this week. And I’ll make
sure to relay that to the team
because I’m sure they all feel the same. All right. So Garrett
Wilson says Monday Night
Football got to have it. Week five Dallas Cowboys absolutely
got to have it man. We added a
word. What other team absolutely has to have in week
five. Well we talked about it
to begin the show. It’s got to be the New York Giants. Guys
like you’re starting this
momentum. And how many times have we have this quarterback
or this DeVito or this Danny
Dimes. You have a game and you get so excited, and then it
just flattens like, I think the
Giants need this win. You’re going against the New Orleans
Saints. Let’s follow up from a
great great win a win offensively and defensively. So
I got the New York Giants
Isaiah. All right I am not the artiste at this table okay foott
with eyes. It’s terrifying. Go
ahead. I’m going. Obvious. I’m going obvious. J-e-t-s. Jets.
Jets. Yes. I mean, it’s Garrett
Wilson. Nailed it dude. And for Justin Fields for Aaron Glenn
you got to have this game
Dallas is their defense is not good guys. It is not good. This
is the time to unload. Give me
some points. Show me some offense. I haven’t seen nothing
since week one with Pittsburgh.
Like, give me I need a win, man. New coach. I mean, I don’t know,
it’s obvious, but it’s got to
be the Jets got to be. It’s got to be, got to be I. Hey the
Jets for sure I hear you.
Listen, we all have families. We’ve been on trips sometimes
when you kind of are just ready
for the trip to be over, you just want to go home. You just
want to sleep in your own bed.
Jamie, I’m going to go right to you. I mean, how about these
guys? They. They go to Ireland.
Great. They lose to the Steelers. They get to come home.
No. They stay. They stay in
Europe to play another game in Europe. If you lose this one
and you lose the Cleveland,
you’re like, oh my God, zero for two. In Europe I really
respect the Vikings
organization for being like we’re up for it. We have
Vikings fans over there. But
like sometimes you just want the trip to end. They’ve been
sitting there just waiting to
play this game. I hope for their sake that they win it,
Jamie. And unfortunately
they’re rubbing elbows on the flight between Ireland and
London with guys that are hurt
and they can’t play and like their game would be better.
Like Aaron Jones is on the trip,
JJ McCarthy is sitting there in sweatpants, Andrew Van Ginkel
can’t go. It’s just like if
they’re all just it’s a lot it together time. And normally I’m
all for that Kyle. But it’s a
great point. Speaking of that game in Dublin it was Vikings
Steelers and it was a grand old
time. Specifically before the game, I, I urgently was ushered
to a side of the field because
there was an opportunity to interview Jason Kelce and Bill
Murray. Such an odd pair. And
frankly, I had about 45 seconds for my brain to understand what
was happening. Before we stood
up together and had a conversation, Bill Murray
offered me candy and away we
went. Here he is though, Bill Murray, the great talking about
our show to end this interview.
I like that show in the morning. I didn’t think I was going to
like that show, but I’ve really
gotten to like that show. Yes, I said, I’m not sure about
these people, but it’s because
I took the candy. Wasn’t it nice? No, it wasn’t about the
candy. I gave you a candy to
thank you. No, I’ll just give me another candy. Bill is
hardly a stranger. That’s right,
bill Murray. Is this. Everybody’s favorite uncle is
what I would call him. Thank
you. I don’t know who he was talking about, who he wasn’t
going to like, but Bill Murray.
Kyle, I’ve never felt more validated. I think he likes the
show. Yeah. Jamie, I’m dying to
know. Like, why? Why did you not think you were going to,
like. I’m actually kind of
afraid to know the answer, but go ahead. I know. Right. All
right, so here’s the question.
Bill Murray, everybody’s favorite uncle, offering people
candy on the field of football
game. It’s great. That was my favorite version of Bill Murray.
Manti, what is your favorite
Bill Murray performance? We’re going to clip this off and send
it to him because he loves us.
My favorite performance and one of my favorite movies guys.
It’s Space Jam. And matter of
fact, I got a beautiful gift right here from Chris McLean.
Check this out KB wow, a VHS
version of Space Jam. It’s still in the wrapper. It’s
still good to go, guys. There’s
a commemorative coin in there. Yes. We ain’t opening this for
centuries. This is gold in my
hand. We’re not this hand. This hand. Yeah. You can get $5 off
Dole Bananas if you’d like. In
97 kids who are too young. There used to be a place called
blockbuster, and this was the
only place that I could get this movie. This one right here,
that’s that’s aged a lot better
than the R Kelly soundtrack on that thing, I’ll tell you that.
What do you got? Woof! Dang it.
Wow. Oh that’s Chicago Isaiah, you have to go I do have to go.
I’m going to go with Doctor
Peter Venkman right there from Ghostbusters. I loved him
because he was a smart dude. He
had a PhD. He had a backpack. Everybody used to rock the jazz
sports back in, back in the day.
And this dude got slimed. He was ready to take on all the
doggone ghosts that you ever
imagined. Doctor Venkman is my dude, man. I had a lot of stuff
going on in my head. Guys, when
Bill Murray came up, I really did, you know? And look, my
first answer, I told it was
taken. I was told it was taken. So I had to come up with a
second answer. I came up with a
second answer. But then as I was, I was watching Jamie. You
with Bill Murray, it occurred
to me that my favorite performance of all time, it’s
just him, Bill Murray. Yeah,
it’s just it’s the legend. The legend of Bill Murray. He just
shows up in Dublin randomly at
this football game. Everybody’s got, like, a weird Bill Murray
story. One time I had a
neighbor who knew Bill Murray in Davenport, Iowa, showed up
at his house and brought him to
my front door to say hi to me. I wasn’t home, I wasn’t home, I
missed him, I missed Bill
Murray. But I loved the law, man. I love the no cell phone.
The no agent like you just
can’t get a hold of this guy. He just shows up randomly in
weird spots. Like, that’s the
performance of a lifetime. That’s. That’s how old are you?
How old are you? What? When?
When he. When you weren’t home. When he came over to the door.
This was, like two years ago.
Oh, no. This was like two years ago. Dude, kid, this was like,
two years ago. I run into my
neighbor, like, six months later and he’s like, man, I
tried to bring Bill Murray over
to your house. I go, excuse me, excuse me. What are you talking
about? Wow, this is insane. On
top of all this, I have a favorite band of mine. It’s
called Bill Murray. That’s
right. He’s so awesome that they named their band after him.
Spelled differently. B I l m u
r I actually playing in Los Angeles this Sunday. I’m going
to see them. Wow. Awesome.
Check them out. Weird hybrid country rock band. Anyway. Cool.
Dude. He’s he’s special. You
just don’t see people like Bill Murray walking around. You
don’t get that. Look,
everybody’s on social media. Everybody’s easy to get Ahold
of. You know everything about
everybody. Bill Murray, man, he’s like this unicorn. He’s
one of one. And that’s the I
want to see that band. Bill Murray I heard Dan Aykroyd’s
opening up for them too, so
that’ll be an incredible set. All right. Bill Murray in the
90s was churning out bangers.
He’s doing stuff like Groundhog Day. He’s doing what About Bob?
And a few other things. And he
takes like a three year break and he goes away for a while,
and then he drops this movie
with the Farrelly brothers called kingpin, in which he
plays Big Ern, aka Ernie
McCracken, a bowler, and the scene in which he’s sitting
there in the diner and he says
Tanqueray and Tab. And the waitress brings it over and he
says, keep it coming, sweets. I
got a long drive ahead of me. Do you want to do me a favor?
Wash off that perfume before
you come back to our table. It is an unbelievable display in
which Woody Harrelson just
leaves the scene because it’s so good. My take on his
performance is big. Ernie
McCracken. It is Bill Murray’s funniest performance of his
career. And I know that’s a hot
take in Ghostbusters. Peter Venkman is great. He’s kind of
odd in Caddyshack. Carl
Spackler is just so over the top and weird in Groundhog Day.
Phil Connors it’s mostly driven
by the device of the plot and pure funny. I’m going to play a
bowler with a comb over and Big
Ern is finally above the law. I think the funniest performance
of his career. And the
infomercial with the kids and the lady. And we could go on
and on and on. Big Ern is above
the law in my pick. Hey, listen, he that movie two was my pick.
So we are one in the same. It
was my pick. And to add on to what you said, you’re a thief.
That’s what you are sir. And to
add on to what you’re saying, it was his funniest his
funniest role because he ad
libbed the whole thing. He took the script, read the script,
tossed it to the side, and ad
libbed the entire movie because he understood the role and what
the significance was. That’s so
cool. That’s well done. Everybody listen to Kentucky.
There was the awkward pause,
because I knew Kyle was going to have something out of the
gates there to answer
everybody’s question. Bill. Jamie, I wasn’t sure I was
going to like kingpin. I didn’t
think I was going to like it, but it turns out I did like it.
That’s okay. Okay. That’s great.
You weren’t sure of the people that were in it either. He’s
working on a show called Off
Course. I guess that’s why he was in Ireland. His friend Tom
Coyne wrote a book about the
golf courses in Ireland. So he’s going around. I think it’s
like Paramount Plus and BBC. He
was playing the courses and lineup tonight 7:00 eastern. 30
minutes ago. The following
thing that we’re going to talk about with Ian Rapoport was a
maybe. And now it sounds like
the Cleveland Browns have made a decision one way or the other
at quarterback Rapsheet what’s
up. That’s right. Some breaking news out of Cleveland. Coach
Kevin Stefanski has just
informed the team during a team meeting that Dillon Gabriel is
going to start against the
Minnesota Vikings in London. The Cleveland Browns are making
a quarterback change. Joe
Flacco, who is healthy but of course has struggled over the
course of the last couple games,
heads to the bench. He is now their number two quarterback.
And Dillon Gabriel, the
exciting, somewhat short again short Kings representing here
on Gmfb fun quarterback. He is
going to be the starter. And for the Cleveland Browns
getting a look at the future
right now is something certainly that is important to
them. They got all sorts of
questions at the quarterback position. They have Dillon
Gabriel rookie. They have
Sanders rookie. They have Joe Flacco. Obviously not a rookie.
It is going to be Gabriel,
despite the fact that they’re going to be facing a very nasty
Brian Flores defense. Gabriel
gets the start for the Browns. All right Ian thrilled for
Gabriel. Rooting for Gabriel.
The elephant in the room is the Sanders factor. So according to
your report if something were
to happen to Gabriel Flacco goes in. Sanders is still
buried in there at QB three.
There’s no movement at all about him to be the backup or
play right. It sounds like
Sanders is going to be the emergency QB three, which means
he can only play legally if the
other two quarterbacks get injured. So it’s not like if
Gabriel is ineffective and they
play Flacco, it doesn’t work out. They can turn to sure they
cannot. It is only in the event
of an injury. However, the Cleveland Browns are clearly
evaluating things for the
future. I would not be surprised if we see Sanders at
some point this year, just so
the Browns know what they have going forward at the
quarterback position. But right
now, Gabriel the starter and Flacco the backup. We’re going
to chew on that in a second.
But this is a microcosm of good morning football Ian I know you
were listening in the last
segment Jamie was interviewing Bill Murray at the Steelers
Vikings game. Bill Murray was
at the game in Dublin. We talked last segment about his
best performance. I had big
Ernie McCracken from kingpin. I know a lot of people did too.
And you, I think, have some
thoughts on that Farrelly Brothers movie. Yeah. I mean,
first of all, Big Ern is an
unbelievable character, if only because of his hair, but also
the rest of him. My favorite
part. You mentioned the diner scene sitting with Woody
Harrelson. He goes, can you eat
that outside? Turns at the booth behind him and goes, hi,
no, not you, not you. Hi. That
is my favorite. That’s that is that is Bill Murray’s genius
right there. And I would say
among my friend group at the time, that line got repeated
roughly eight huge rapsheet.
I’ve also tallied you referenced Short Kings twice in
a matter of 40 minutes. You
have a podcast coming out called Short Kings or something,
and you’re trying to get mine
for guests. What’s happening here? You got to you got to
understand who you are, Jamie.
You got to understand it. You got to own it. If you’ve ever
seen. If you’ve ever seen me
walking on like a red carpet with my wife Leah, she’ll
usually wear heels. Generally,
the Instagram comments will weigh in heavily on that factor.
At some point. You just are who
you are and it is okay. Hey, Jamie, yeah, I heard I heard
Kevin Stefanski said to his
quarterback room. You’re the starter. And he got up and he
says, not you, you’re the
starter. And then Dillon got up and that’s how that went. So
we’ll have to see. Yeah we will.
Rapsheet thanks so much. You’re the best. Again. Larger than
life on our show. All right
guys, first time ever actually in the NFL that a quarterback
will make his first career
start in an international game. So the Browns are preparing not
only for travel but for a new,
new starter to take the ball under center Dillon Gabriel. It
is Manti. What do you make of
this are. Brian Flores right now is licking his chops. Boy,
I’m telling you right now, you
thought it was going to be. You thought it was complicated in
the in the first few weeks for
the Minnesota Vikings. He’s drawing everything up right now.
Like there’s going to be cover
zero like almost every single play. I can’t tell you how
defenders think about this.
When you have a rookie quarterback that’s going
against one of the most
complicated fronts in the Minnesota Vikings, and Brian
Flores, Flores and his blitzing
packages, guys, I look at it, I get it. You’re international.
You don’t have any of your fans
await games, whatever. But you’re going against this
defense and it’s I hope the
best for Dillon. But going against this defense guys, I
got to keep everything in
reserve because it’s going to be nasty. You know what I’m
wondering man? Ty, now that you
bring that up, you know what I’m wondering? I was this the
plan all along, you know, was
this was it? Yeah. Did they have something going on? When
they drafted these guys, they
were thinking, this is what we might want to do with this. We
want to see Dillon Gabriel. Do
we want to see cheddar later in the season? Because this this
is a terrible situation to
bring in this guy. Yeah, yeah. First time overseas starting a
rookie quarterback in his first
game. And Brian Flores defense. The team’s not playing well I’m
like maybe this was always the
plan. Look let’s see Flacco for the first four. If he goes
crazy we see MVP Joe Flacco
Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco okay. Then we do. We keep with him.
But maybe after a month let’s
put these guys in and see what they got. Because it was never
about this year for Cleveland
unless it was right. So I’m wondering what were the
mechanisms you know in the
coaching room. What were they thinking. Is this part of the
process? Either way, I’m
nervous. It’s uncomfortable. The options weren’t endless,
though. To your point, if they
had this like maybe week three or week for they were in
Detroit last week, they were
playing the Vikings this week in London, and next week they
have to go at Pittsburgh. So
it’s not like they had some bouquet of like easy soft
defenses they could go against
like here rookie quarterback. You’re waiting one more week
I’m saying no. Bye. Go ahead
Isaiah I can tell you what they’re thinking. Two
touchdowns six interceptions
58% completion. That’s what they were thinking. So to your
point yeah they wanted to see
if Joe Flacco was going to make it you know make it do what it
do. And obviously that’s not
working for them. So now they’re going to the second man
that they went ahead and
drafted relatively early in the draft. And Dillon Gabriel. And
last time I checked what is he
right handed or left handed. Lefty. He’s a lefty. And if
you’re a left handed
quarterback, who’s your most important offensive lineman?
The right tackle, right tackle.
And they’re at their second string offensive lineman at the
right tackle position. It’s not
what you want against Buffalo. Yeah. No. Buffalo is going to
send all the goons to go get
Dillon Gabriel. So watch your blind side Dillon. Watch your
blindside. Yum yum yum. Well,
listen, I you guys are laying it out perfectly. It doesn’t
seem like the right time. It
doesn’t seem like the right fit, doesn’t seem like the right
opponent. And yet Kevin
Stefanski is still saying I want him in. Now, maybe that’s
a vote of confidence that he
feels that good about this quarterback and maybe that bad
about Flacco, that he said, I
understand what Brian Flores brings here. I understand we’re
on the road, we’re in a
different continent, and I still want this rookie to go in.
Maybe he’s just that confident.
Maybe he has that much faith in what he has seen and he doesn’t
give a damn who they’re playing
against. Brian Flores This segment has turned into an
infomercial for him, and I like
him too. Kevin Stefanski is the coach of the year twice. He
knows what the hell he’s doing.
He and Myles Garrett are the two best things the Browns have
going for him. And if he’s
watching Dillon Gabriel, he’s not going to just throw him to
the wolves. He must be like,
this guy can ball. Trust me. I don’t care who we’re playing.
Put him out there. It kind of
gives me confidence that he can be that nuts to do it now and
listen. Not for nothing. It’s
not like the Vikings slammed the door in Aaron Rodgers face
last week. And the Steelers.
There were some communication issues for the Vikings defense
last week. I watched it with my
eyes, my eyes, the defensive line. They were barking at each
other. Brian Flores actually
had to be the calm voice in the room on the sideline at times.
So. And the Vikings, now they
have to stare at each other for an entire week. So maybe the
Browns see an opportunity. And
we hope for the best for Dillon Gabriel. We’ll be watching on
Sunday morning on NFL network
and NFL plus Dillon, Dillon Gabriel everybody I know. What
are we looking at? Oh what what
are you watching? My blindside. Yeah, right. We’ll be right
back I got you. Okay, Brian.
Craziest touchdown ever here for, right? That’s what
we’re here for okay. Let’s talk
football. Let’s talk the bears. All right. We’re on a winning
streak right now man two games
in a row. Block a kick at the final. Second on the road to
win a game. You know who
doesn’t do that? The bears. They lose those games every
single season for years and
years on end. And here we are two wins in a row going into
the bye. We can’t lose this
week guys. Bears can’t lose this week. Man I love it I love
it I love what I’m seeing. I
love the growth out of Caleb Williams. The connection with
Roman Dunes I love what they’re
doing now. Look they still got some kinks, right? The running
game. Not where it needs to be.
They got to figure that out. They got to figure out how to
get yards on the ground. Play
action is vastly more effective when they can run the football
and they’re not doing it. So
they got some things to work out. Defense a little porous,
but hopefully after the bye
they can get some some guys healthy. Maybe they can get
Kyler Gordon back, maybe T.J.
Edwards come back, two of their best players. I’m just saying.
I’m just saying I’m not saying,
you know, they they going to go to the Super Bowl, but they
might go to the Super Bowl.
Guys, we’re still in the hunt. We’re not going for after the
first look. This is good for me.
I need this, but don’t look at me like that. Don’t look at me
like that. This is what I need
in my life. I need this man. I’m excited about the bears.
I’m hyped. And look, if it’s
not this season we’re on, I feel like at least we’re on the
right track in some capacity. I
feel good about it. I feel good about it. I’m just saying the
Super Bowl is not out of the
question, you know? Yeah. For anybody right now most years.
No not anybody not that’s the
thing. Not anybody. Most years were done by now. It’s over.
You’ve given up hope. All this
is in the dumpster on like I’m pouring the gasoline right now.
But we’re here October and I’m
still in it. And it’s a beautiful day to live football.
It’s a beautiful day to love
football. That’s all I’m saying. KB you’re the other fellow
Chicagoan. Like, how do you
feel about it? How is your friend, your little friend
group group chat looking well
it’s good. I mean it’s it’s better now than it was. I think
Seth taps into a lot of things.
It’s like the team is heavily flawed, heavily flawed. The
defense was really bad against
the Raiders. The offensive line has problems, but that’s who
cares. Really, what I feel
after one month of football is that I think Caleb is going to
be the bears quarterback for a
long time. I think bears the Ben Johnson is gonna be the
bears coach for a long time,
and that is just a win like Caleb has it. He’s not perfect.
He’s got a lot to learn. But my
God, he is so talented. We already knew that he’s starting
to put it together now. He’s
going to be the quarterback for a long time now as far as this
season guys I don’t know. And
Seth, listen, it’s easy to forget last year the Chicago
Bears, the 2024 Chicago Bears
under Matt Eberflus were four and two to start the season and
then proceeded to lose ten in a
row and fire their coach. So they were even doing better
than the bears are doing now,
record wise. But this thing just feels different. And if
you tell me after a month,
Caleb looks really good and Ben Johnson seems the part, that’s
really all I need to know. Are
they seven and ten? Are they nine and eight? I don’t
terribly care. I care that they
have a quarterback and a coach, and I think they do. Go ahead
Isaiah. Yeah I’m with you guys
I mean listen I don’t believe that the Chicago Bears are
going to do amazing things this
year. But I do believe that they’re going to continually
get better. You anytime they
have Ben Johnson as their coach. I mean you have to give these
guys the respect Ben Johnson
plus assets at the receiver position. Running back position
okay o line and a quarterback
that’s improving weekly. I think you have to put some
respect on them. I just don’t
foresee them doing amazing things. I don’t foresee them
doing amazing things. Oh come
on you got to you got to have faith. You got to see the big
picture, man. You got to look
down the road. You got to see what we’re working with here.
All right. I think the Cowboys
are going to win the Super Bowl. Don’t listen to him. Come on,
come on. Now that to me. Yeah.
That’s high on the record. Yeah. Oh my gosh. Bear down baby.
Professionals on the show.
Third down. Speaking of bear down third down. We all saw
this heated interaction go down
between the 40 niners defensive coordinator Robert Saleh and
Jaguars head coach Liam Cohen
following Jacksonville’s win over San Francisco last weekend.
This drew some pretty massive
headlines because of the engagement and the prolonged
conversation that went down
between these two. On Tuesday, Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan
entered the chat, and he was
asked about the physical toughness of his defensive
coordinator and how that would
go for anybody considering NFL coaches, do you think could
beat up Robert Saleh? Just me.
It’s about it. I know Dan Campbell. Yeah, I would
probably bet on Dan over a lot
of people. Sol Sol is too, too nice usually, but it seemed
like someone struck a chord
later. I mean, the other day, but I don’t think there’s any
fights going on. It was kind of
comical now to look back at it. Kyle’s like, I see the bait,
I’m not taking it. I’ll flirt
with the answer a little bit, but he tried to squash the fire,
but we’re going to bring it
back up. All right. You have to pick an NFL head coach, and
then they become your tag team
partner. All right, Seth Rollins at the table. Kyle’s
got wrestling on the mind. He’s
apparently doom scrolling WWE content on the way into work.
Pick your NFL head coach. Head
coach. That would be your tag team partner. Okay, I’ll get
the easy one out of the way,
guys. I mean, if it if it isn’t Mike Vrabel, then who is it?
Like the guy actually gets into
fights. He’s at the bottom of the pile during training camp
when they have a joint practice.
Like Mike Vrabel was that guy. I think everybody, if you’re
walking out of the tunnel with
Mike Vrabel and you’re about to fight somebody, I think we’re
in good hands. So if I had to
pick a tag team partner, it would be that man. He played
linebacker, he played offense,
he did everything. He came up bloody. It doesn’t matter.
We’re going to win the fight. I
got Mike Vrabel Isaiah you over Vrabel. Oh what. Who else you
got. All right so listen up.
You know I’m a big WWE fan. And you know I respect my man’s
right here at the table. If
there was one person that I wanted to bring down as my tag
team partner, nobody knows
they’re coming. It’s going to be somebody like Brock Lesnar.
And if I have Brock Lesnar,
then the head coach version of Brock Lesnar is no other than
Dan Campbell. Dan Campbell is
the Brock Lesnar of the NFL. I would love to have him as my
partner. You see him come into
the ring and every other tag team is going to be like, holy
shish kebabs. I do not want no
parts of this. That’s who my partner would be. He’s going to
bite kneecaps. He’s going to do
whatever is necessary to win the ball game, and he’s going
to be all up on caffeine. Nice.
That is true. Okay, so for me, you know, I was looking at the
list of head coaches. Those are
those are good choices, boys. Those are really good choices.
But I would go with Demeco
Ryans. Oh dude dude dude, dude, that man is scary. That is a
scary dude. He is a baller. I
mean, on the field. Linebacker, rookie of the year, defensive
rookie of the year. He was a
stud and I was looking all over the place. Those are good
answers. Demeco he’s one of
those guys. When I see him, like, he scares me. He scares
me. Like he scares me. Like I
don’t want I don’t want to I don’t know, I don’t know what
to I don’t know what I’m going
to get out of there. And I feel like he just got that strength
that he can just rip. You look
at that. I don’t I don’t know, man. There’s like an intensity.
There’s a scariness about him,
all right, a scariness I don’t I don’t want that. I want that
on my side. That’s what I want
on my side of the ring. Not on the other side of that. Yeah,
that’s what I’m saying. He’ll
smile at you, but you don’t trust it. You know what I’m
saying? You don’t trust it, man,
I don’t know. I don’t like it. He I he’s my dog right there.
Okay, Seth, I’m with you, and
we’re on the same wavelength. All morning, when I was really
falling in love with wrestling
in the early 90s, it was far less family friendly than it is
now. And the things that these
guys would say were just terrifying and weird and like
the Ultimate Warrior, the
things that would come out of his mouth didn’t even make
sense. But they were so scary.
And then you would have, like Jake the Snake Roberts, who
would just be very quiet. He’d
say, Randy Savage. It was just really scary. So it’s not
always the biggest, most
muscular guy, in which case, you know, you go with Campbell
or Vrabel, you want someone
who’s scary. Seth, roll the videotape of this psychopath.
This is the guy who’s in my
corner every single time. Yeah. What is he doing? I don’t even
understand what that is, but I
want him on my side. He’s not the biggest. He’s not the
strongest. Guys, you know what
it reminds me of? It reminds me of when you know an anchorman,
when they have the brawl and
brick tamlin’s just standing around and bricks like, yeah, I
stabbed a man in the heart. And
it’s like, wow, brick, where did that come from? I want the
crazy guy with the crazy eyes
over the big guy with the traps and the muscles and everything,
like Seth Rollins. You
understand this? There’d be a whole brawl amongst the coaches,
and it’d be brave Bull and
Campbell. And then all of a sudden, like, Ben Johnson would
come in with, like, a fork and
just start stabbing people. Whatever he had to do, he would
bite, he would claw, and I want
that in my corner and I want that as my coach. Oh my God,
the whole nine. You know who
that reminds me of? Terrifying. It reminds me of your old tag
team partner back in the day
from The Shield. Yeah, yeah. You’re going with Ambrose,
right? Ambrose? Yeah. Wild man,
all day long. Shout out to Mox. Yeah, I mean, that’s right.
He’s Ben Johnson’s a lunatic.
That’s a lunatic right there. Right there. You don’t know
what he’s going to do. That’s
what I’m going to speak. Unpredictable. You know, you
went with someone. I saw that
Ben Johnson killed a guy. It’s terrifying. Right? You don’t
know what he’s bringing to the
fight. Absolutely. I mean, you can hear that inhale, and it’s
in the videos on mute. It’s so
intense. Well done everybody. All right. That was three and
out coming up. Week four was
filled with some amazing plays from around the league. Guys,
you don’t understand the scene
that I walked into before good Morning Football. There’s a
whiteboard out in this next
segment. I got to listen to you guys walk through the spelling
of major last week. Manti is
going to give us a look at what he has cooked up from week four
on the game tape. Kyle. Plus a
teacher, a real teacher is using angry runs to help
educate the future. I’m not.
I’m not kidding. He’s joining us in this hour to explain how
angry runs teaches physics to
the minds of tomorrow. Jamie Erdahl. Yeah, Kyle, I
appreciate that. I took the
notes, man. I Vrabel, Isaiah Campbell, Seth Damico, Kyle Ben
Johnson I could take any of you
on if my tag team partner was none other than Seth Rollins
hot Irish wife Becky Lynch. All
right. That’s why we select I don’t even write. He’s in a
great mood. We have a photo of
Becky Lynch, and we’re talking the bears Seth Rollins,
everybody for an hour on Gmfb
love to see it. Good Morning Football is presented by old
trapper beef jerky. What’s your
beef? Lozano? Sunday’s hit magic comes from. It’s Hawaii.
It’s all of that stuff all
encompassed in one. So I present episode two of that was
major first play up. We’re
going to go to Ireland, where the Minnesota Vikings took on
the Pittsburgh Steelers. And on
this play, you’re going to see something that defies all
physics. Okay, let’s play this
play. You’re going to see Payton Wilson, a linebacker run
down one of the fastest and
most explosive players Jordan Addison in the NFL. Listen guys
give me the height and weight
up there real quick. This is the difference in stature
between these two gentlemen.
You have a wide receiver that’s 511 170 and 79 pounds and a
linebacker that’s six four 240
pounds. That’s almost a 70 pound difference. This is not
human. That is major. Let’s
come to the whiteboard real quick. Because what we have to
do is we have to figure out
give me that. Still, we have to figure out first and foremost,
how far is Wilson from Jordan
Addison. Let me get that still real quick before I go through
this math. Let’s come here. See
this still right here. Here’s this is some math that we’re
going to get to this morning.
This is called a Pythagorean theorem. And we have to find
out what this distance is right
here. You guys know what this is guys at the table. You know
what that is a triangle.
Hypotenuse a hypotenuse. There you go. Yes I had to look it up.
Guys, today, a fifth grader.
I’m a house, yet I’m not smarter than a fifth grader. So
that’s that’s what we have to
figure out. So in order to find that out, we have to exercise
the Pythagorean theorem. Say
that fast five times a squared plus b squared equals c squared
okay. So we know what the what
the factors are. It’s five squared here which is what 25
plus ten squared is 100. That
equals whatever the square root of that is is 125. The yardage
c equals 11.13 I believe it is.
So he’s about 11 yards Peyton is about 11 yards from Jordan
Addison Jordan Addison ran a
four over four in the combine guys. He’s on the 50. So Peyton
has to get there in less than
five seconds. Let’s play this clip. Play it I want to see how
fast he goes. I want to see how
fast he runs for runs for Jordan. Addison, go get him. Go
get him, Peyton! Go get him! Go
get him, Peyton! Go get him! Do you know that, Peyton ran
22.3mph around there? That’s
the fastest linebacker has moved since 2016. That’s how
major this play is. It is so
major that because he got that stop, the Minnesota Vikings had
to spend four plays to get a
touchdown. And it wasted over a minute in game clock. That is
what we call major. And that’s
how we start that off. Let’s go to the second play. Let’s go to
the second play. And my brother
Seth Rollins is going to love this. Why. Because it’s by a
Chicago bear. Yeah we’re going
to go to this now a lot of people saw this play. It’s
fourth down and one the Raiders
are trying to go for it early in the first quarter. Play this.
Play this. You have Andrew
Billings. Look what Andrew Billings does okay. They didn’t
credit him with the sack. They
didn’t credit him with the fumble the forced fumble. But
let’s go back. Let’s play that
again. Let’s watch this. Watch Andrew Billings go against
Jordan Meredith the center for
the Las Vegas Raiders. Watch this. This is just this is just
men amongst boys. Now I saw
to see Andrew Billings do
something to Jordan Meredith
that Seth Rollins has probably done to a lot of people in the
ring. Play it, watch what he
does. He picks this boy up and shoves him into Geno Smith’s
lap. That was on third down.
Okay, this is not something that’s supposed to happen on
the NFL. NFL field. A lot of
people ask when I spelt out the word dog dawg, they said,
what’s the difference? This is
the difference, guys. That’s a dawg right there. That’s what
it looks like. That’s what it
feels like. Now. What’s also major is you see this guy, this
right guard, he used to be the
center. But Pete Carroll said, no, you’re going to play right
guard. I think Coach Carroll
there might have to be a switch here with this right guard.
Jackson Powers-johnson put him
over there at center because this guy Andrew Billings took
this guy’s lunch, took his
dinner, took everything and made a play in the back, in the
backfield. That was one of the
most major plays that I saw. It’s like a big show. It’s like
big show from when I watched. I
watched when I watched WWE, it was big show and he used to
pick up a whole bunch of people.
He used to pick up Cain too, and just lift him up and throw
him out of the ring. That’s
what it looked like to me. That was major. Now, last but not
least, we got to go to this
Chargers game at MetLife. Now, this is something that I saw
that I thought it had a major
impact on the LA Chargers. If they would have done it just a
little differently, I think the
last series would have looked a little different. Watch watch
the play clock on this okay
guys go ahead play it. It starts at 346 Justin Herbert
scrambles. He gets tackled by
Brian Burns. Tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick.
The play is still going. It’s
still going. The clock is still going. By the time they punt
the ball on the next play. Can
we get to it. Watch this. 346 by the time they punt the ball
on the next play, I want you to
see how much time is on the clock when they punt the ball
on fourth down. I want you to
see that. So it’s 346 here he gets kicked. They just
nonchalantly they’re not
getting off the field. Yes you’re down by three. You need
to score. You’re going to punt
the ball. Look 305. That’s over. 40s guys. It’s over. 40s wasted
in that one play to get a
transition on and off the field. 40s. Luckily they punt the ball,
they get a stop. The Giants
have to punt the ball back. And this is where it gets even more
complicated for you if you’re
trying to stage a comeback. If you’re the Chargers they punt.
Look look look at the clock 31
seconds. Go ahead play it. They punt the ball. Still for the
Chargers catches this punt. And
instead of going straight you don’t have that much time left.
Instead of going straight what
does he do. He tries to cross field. Tick. Tick tick tick
tick tick tick tick tick. Eight
seconds. That’s plus 50s of wasted time. The average play
in the NFL in the NFL game is
four seconds long. You do the math. That’s about 8 to 12
seconds. That’s about 8 to 12
plays that the Chargers could have had on the back end. And
that final drive to get them
into field goal range. That’s the type of major impact that
little decisions like this and
plays that we just saw could have on a game. So that was
this episode of that was major.
Our show is major. I would love to hear what my brother and my
sisters think about this week’s
episode. The Pythagorean theorem is major. Thank you.
Done. Well done. I was a little
intimidated when I saw a mathematical equation on that
whiteboard. However, you
simplified it, you walked us through it. And I got to tell
you that Jordan Addison play. I
feel like I saw it live. I saw it live. Could have fully
flipped the game had he made it
into the end zone. And the impressive the speed is
impressive, but the physical
dedication that he had to commit to, to lay out fully in
order like that was either now
or never. Like I’m getting Jordan Addison’s heal or not,
and he was inches away, and I
really feel like that could have changed the name of the
game, because I believe they
were stopped. It was it was halted to a field goal on that
drive. They scored within four.
They had to go for it on fourth down, right, right, right. They
scored. However, the biggest
takeaway from that, and the reason why it was also so major,
was that it took more than a
minute for them after this play to score. And for a team like
the Steelers, you were up in
this game. That is so beneficial. When you have a
team that’s trying to get back,
spent over a minute when they’re within the five yard
line to score, to score a
touchdown. Yeah, that that play right there is just pure effort.
So for everybody at the crib
that’s still playing ball like that is a full on effort play.
When you’re going and you’re
trying to catch somebody, you’re able to do things that
are like out of body. You’re
able to do things outside of yourself. And when you decide
that you want to run somebody
down and that you’re not going to allow him to score, it
doesn’t matter what your 40
time was at the combine. This is about playing ball. You are
now running A42 versus somebody
who runs A44. I think what you did during that was major was
on purpose to bring in a
squared plus b squared equals c squared, and finding the root
of the matter and the problem.
It’s all because we have our guest coming on a teacher, and
we wanted to flex our
intelligent muscles before we talk about how angry runs is
influencing this public school
system, there is a special guest. I just made that
assumption. It could just be a
private school. No judgment. This has a combined science and
art of the angry runs. You’re
not going to want to miss this
