The Buhler High School varsity girls golf team finished second at the Hutchinson Invitational Thursday on the par-71 Carey Park Golf Course and the Hutchinson Salthawks placed 16th.

Manhattan won the team title with a 314 score, followed by Buhler 333, McPherson 343, Gaden City 349, Hays 394 and Goddard Eisenhower 403.

Maize South placed seventh at 406, followed by Winfield 409, Dodge City 412, Arkansas City 412, Derby 413, Maize 421, Newton 423, Haysville Campus 429, Salina South 440, Hutchinson 457, Valley Center 473 and Great Bend 480.

Buhler golfers Anika Paulsrud and Macy Miller placed sixth and seventh in the individual medalist competition with scores of 77 and 81.

Buhler’s Paityn Weber placed 14th with an 87. Addison Specht and Gabriella Gillespie finished 15th and 17th with 88s. Harlie Terrell placed 29th with a 95.

Hutchinson’s top golfer was Audryee Soule at 107, followed by Darbie Wells, 69th, 113; Hannah Marcum. 70th, 115; Baylee Pickering, 85th, 122; Jade Brislin, 93rd, 128; Bria Carlton, 95th, 130; and Naddilyn Wellington, 101st, 136.

Manhattan golfer Kat Ball fired an even-par 73 to earn first-place medalist honors. Teammate Maddie Myers and McPherson’s Brodie Kuhn both shot 74s. Myers beat Kuhn in a playoff for second place.

Winfield’s Lilli Simpson and Garden City’s Brooke Savolt placed fourth and fifth at 76 and 77.
