VESTAL, N.Y. – With the first weekend of October comes the latest installment of the Binghamton golf team’s home tournament, as the Bearcats are set to host the 2025 Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational from Sunday through Monday at The Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin, N.Y.

The 36-hole tournament features the Bearcats going against Canisius, Colgate, Cornell, Dartmouth, Iona, Laval, Le Moyne, Lehigh, Niagara, St. Bonaventure, Saint Peter’s and the University of Ottawa. Each school will send its golfers onto a par 72 course that covers 7,104 yards.

This marks Binghamton’s fourth tournament of the 2025-26 season, and first since the Bearcats finished 11th at Navy’s invitational, The Goat, on Sept. 21. On Thursday, Brandon Conner was named a Prime Performer for the month of September by the NEC, making it the fourth time he has received that honor. In three tournaments throughout the month, the senior posted a stroke average of 73.55. His best performance came at Delaware’s Blue Hen Intercollegiate on Sept. 16, when he finished second out of 69 golfers at 72-69-71 = 212/4-under par. This was Conner’s fourth top 10 finish of his collegiate career. His final tally is tied for the fourth-lowest score relative to par through 54 holes in program history.

Binghamton now goes into an event where they have recently experienced success, finishing second at its home tournament in each of the last two seasons. The Bearcats have also won this tournament twice since 2012, with their most recent victory coming in 2018. In 2024, both Harrison Blech and Sean Shen earned top 10 finishes at the event. Blech finished tied for seventh at 70-72 = 142/2-under par, his lowest score through 36 holes. Shen, meanwhile, tied for 10th at 72-72 = 144/even-par for his second top 10 finish at that tournament. He previously finished tied for eighth at the event in 2022.

The first round starts on Sunday, while the second round takes place on Monday. Both rounds begin at 9 a.m., with double tee times.
