Trevose Golf & Country Club rounded off a year of events to mark the Cornish venue’s centenary by inviting a group of over 80 industry colleagues, valued suppliers and golf media to a day of golfing action on the club’s championship links followed by a celebratory dinner prepared by local chef Jack Stein.

Stein is head chef at Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, which is also celebrating a significant milestone in 2025, with the iconic eaterie having been set up by his father, Rick Stein, back in 1975.

Trevose, which was established in 1925 and owned by the Gammon family since the 1940s, has grown from a pioneering golf course into a coastal resort with a global reputation. Boasting three golf courses – the 18-hole, par-72 Championship Course; the 9-hole, par 54 Headland Course; and the 9-hole, par 3 Short Course – Trevose offers golfing challenges to suit all ages and all skill levels, while its off-course leisure facilities include a swimming pool, gym, restaurant, bar, driving range, padel and tennis courts, and access to beaches and sea activities.

The array of accommodation offered at Trevose has also grown over the years, with the club now able to sleep up to 115 guests on-site with 10 flats, 5 bungalows, 7 fairway lodges, 7 dormy flats, 1 club flat, and 1 fairway cottage.

To mark its 100th year, Trevose has unveiled a new logo, inspired by the original crest but refreshed for a new era. The design incorporates the Quies, the rocky outcrops that stand proudly off the Trevose coastline and remain a symbol of strength, heritage, and place.

At the same time, Trevose has also launched a range of apparel and accessories under the banner of the Coastal Club Collection — a lifestyle brand celebrating laid-back Cornish living with hoodies, t-shirts, oversized sweatshirts, hats, and bags. The collection has its own distinctive logo: a booby bird, a nod to Booby’s Bay and the club’s connection to the coast.

Teams in action at the Centenary Golf Day on September 30

The Centenary Event on September 30 saw 14 teams of four tackle Trevose’s championship golf course, with the team of Tom McKenzie, Nick Gammon, Michael Pask and Craig Higgs take the spoils with an impressive Stableford score of 95 points, with best two scores counting.

Tom McKenzie, whose golf course design firm McKenzie & Ebert has recently completed a major renovation of Trevose’s championship course, racked up four gross birdies in his round, although he was eclipsed by the performance of teammate Michael Pask, chairman of golf tour operator Golf Traveller, who fired seven gross birdies, including five in a row from the 13th to the 17th hole. The group each won a pair of FootJoy Premiere Series golf shoes for their efforts.

Trevose’s facilities extend well beyond its three golf courses, with tennis, padel, swimming and gym on offer, as well as accommodation for over 100 guests, plus a bar and restaurant

A special mention must also go to Trevose’s course manager Neil Ivamy, who besides presenting the golf course in superb condition, despite a challengingly dry summer, also managed to win the nearest-the-pin prize on the 154-yard 3rd hole after finding the bottom of the cup with his tee shot.

Trick shot specialist Geoff Swain entertained guests with his display of skills

After golf, guests enjoyed an entertaining and impressive trick shot show from the evergreen and hugely talented Geoff Swain, before sitting down to a four-course dinner prepared by Jack Stein, whose bespoke menu included a variety of stunning dishes which showcased the fabulous produce that is available in the region, including locally caught cod, mackerel and monkfish.

Guests then enjoyed an overnight stay at the club, staying in a range of luxury lodges, apartments and flats there are available to book across the estate.

Referring to the twin celebration with the Stein family, Nick Gammon, Managing Director of Trevose, said: “Both of our families have spent decades welcoming people to Cornwall. This centenary is about honouring where we’ve come from and looking boldly ahead — proving that Cornwall remains a world-class place to visit, live, and experience hospitality.”
