Gino Bonnelly built his reputation alongside Joel Domin on the PGA tour, but the well-known Caddy has now taken on a new role. Earlier this year, Bonnelly and Domin ended their longtime partnership, bringing to a close one of the most recognizable duos in professional golf. The pair rose to prominence not only through their success on tour, but also thanks to Netflix’s hit documentary Full Swing, which gave fans an inside look at life on the PGA tour and showcased their easygoing chemistry. Less than three months after the split, Bonnelly is back on the course. This week, he’s on the bag for Isaiah Celinda at the Sanderson Farms Championship. Celinda, a standout in the amateur ranks and a former Walker Cup player, turned professional in 2020. After earning his way onto the PGA Tour via the Corn Ferry Tour last season, he’s now fighting to secure his card heading into 2026. He’s off to a promising start in the FedEx Cup fall highlighted by a tie for 13th at the Procore Championship in Napa. His first top 20 finish in five months as Scotty Sheffler collected his sixth victory of the year. Celinda returns this week at the Country Club of Jackson where Bonnie’s experience and steady presence could prove invaluable as he looks to build on that momentum. For Bonnelly, it marks a fresh chapter after more than a decade with Domin. a stretch that included the highlight of a PGA Tour win at the 2021 Corales Panakana Championship. Reflecting on the decision to part ways, Domin admitted it wasn’t easy. “Man, I love Gino. We still text almost daily.” “He’s doing well,” Domin said earlier this summer. “I miss him, but sometimes you have to do something hard. It wasn’t an easy decision. He’s my best friend. He’s still my best friend. But I had to change something with me. It was more about my mentality and taking ownership of what I was doing. He added, I was not doing a good job of that. A way for me to do it was as simple as just playing golf on my own a little bit. I love him. I miss him. And I think we’ll see him out here again soon. And now fans don’t have to wait because Gino Bonnelly is indeed back guiding a new player and embracing a new challenge.
