Convincing a Stranger to Play Golf With Me in Sweden

Can you teach me something in Swedish to say to throw Anton off before he like hits his ball? Today we’re in Stockholm, Sweden. We’re here on a golf trip, but instead of just playing by ourselves, we want to meet real locals and invite them to play a game of golf with us. So, here’s the challenge. By tomorrow morning, each one of us needs to convince a complete stranger to join us for a 2v2 golf match. Team Benji versus team. And to make things more interesting, we’re putting $100 cash on the line between us, which means that we can’t just find anyone. We both have to look for the person who we think is the best golfer and will help us win this match. This is the plan. Step one, we head into Stockholm to convince strangers to play golf with us. Step two, we head to the golf course the next day and make sure that these strangers actually show up. And step three, we play a three-hole match with $100 on the line. Winner takes all. Problem is, our tea time is already booked and it’s in less than 24 hours from now, which means that we only have one evening in Stockholm to find a teammate. Tim, good luck, Benji. Good luck. We headed into the city right away, confident that this was going to be an easy task. Excuse me. Can I ask you a quick question? Do you play golf by any chance? Do either of you guys play golf by any chance? You don’t? No. No interest in learning how to play? No. Okay. Do either of you guys play golf? I don’t. No. You don’t play golf? So, you don’t want to play golf with us tomorrow by any chance? Uh, okay. We’re having slight issues planning. It’s harder than we thought. I think uh the plan now is to go visit the McCade office who are all Swedish and we’re asked them for some tips when it comes to talking to Swedish people in public, I guess. Yeah, we Yeah, we just need someone to give us a little little bit of help. We’re at a HQ here in Stockholm now. We have not been very successful so far. What do you think our odds are of finding someone tonight still to play golf? Uh, pretty high. I know it’s a beautiful day out and we don’t have too many of those left this season. If we were to approach an attractive young Swedish, not young, ladies and gentlemen, we got them. What can we say to a Swedish woman in Swedish to introduce ourselves and ask if they play golf? And where would we find these people? I guess in the center of town, you have uh a good chance. Okay. Probably on a street called Dingan. We have some local insights and a new location to go to. Wait, we we’re we’re actually in Stockholm because we’re filming a YouTube video where we’re going out tonight and we’re trying to find a random person on the street who wants to play golf with us tomorrow and then join in a match. How How flexible is the ticket? At this point in time, we’ve been out here for hours now, and we hadn’t even gotten close to getting a yes. So, we had to get a little creative. All right, it’s getting kind of late. A lot of rejections so far. I’m getting a little bit desperate. So, I had an idea that’s a little bit contested here, but I follow this girl on Instagram who makes golf videos and she lives in Stockholm, I believe. So, I just sent her a message on Instagram and she replied, so I’m going to call her now to see if she’s free to film with us tomorrow. I think it still counts as a stranger because I’ve never met her before. Yeah, just leave me out in the street looking for random people. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. How are you? So, I just looked up online 6 minutes walk away from where we are. I’m actually going to look at how good their swing is, too, and make sure I pick out the best player. I have if it doesn’t work there, it’s not going to work anywhere. So, let’s go to the indoor golf simulator in Stockholm. This was Tim’s last shot for the night. If this wasn’t going to work, he’d have to give up and figure out a new plan tomorrow. I’m going up to a bay now, and I’m going to try and ask the person in the bay. To get a good night of sleep before the big match tomorrow. The only thing we have to do now is to actually make it there for the tea time. What could possibly go wrong? We’re currently on our way to the golf course. We hope that our guests will show up. As we’re driving here, we realize that we’re stuck in the middle of Stockholm Marathon, which is on today, which we didn’t know about. So, traffic’s kind of crazy. I mean, us missing the tea time would be a curveball. I’ll tell you that. Against all odds, we ended up making it on time. Now, will our guests actually show up? Just arrived at the golf course. We’re getting ready now. Still won’t have confirmation that the others are here. Hopefully, we’ll uh get the message that they arrived shortly. Has messaged me. She’s here already.
