Just two days on from helping Team Europe to victory in the Ryder Cup at Bethpage, going unbeaten across four matches, Tyrrell Hatton is in Scotland for the defence of his Alfred Dunhill Links Championship title. A year ago, the Englishman became the first three-time winner of the tournament. Joining him are countrymen Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick, the latter a fellow past champion, along with Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre. The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is played over St Andrews’ Old Course, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns, three world-renowned links courses, culminating in the final day on the Old Course. Fitzpatrick is among the Major Champions from six countries teeing it up this week as a strong international field assembles. The 2022 U.S. Open winner is joined by fellow Englishman Danny Willett, Ireland’s Pádraig Harrington, who is trying to equal Hatton’s record as a three-time winner, Germany’s Martin Kaymer, Australia’s Cameron Smith, South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen and American quartet Patrick Reed, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson and Bubba Watson as players to have won Majors. PGA TOUR winners Tony Finau, Aldrich Potgieter and Harry Hall are also among those in action, while a host of winners on this season’s Race to Dubai are targeting more silverware, including Norway’s Kristoffer Reitan and France’s Adrien Saddier.

Johnson who has reached the 11th hole at Carnusti. You can see where he’s needing to pitch this one up in the UPS slope. Kill it a little bit. Hop it. Didn’t kick as far right as he would have liked. McIntyre clip that lovely fancies it. Gets it. Get in there bobber. Local Craig go bananas. Rightly so. Three in a row always smartens up your card. Back to Dustin Johnson. This for birdie at 11. Yeah, going well. This one has slot in another. Rolled it smooth. Beautiful there from Dustin. There’s the 2010 Open champion Louis Ustasen. What a beautiful rhythm. Gold swing never lets you down that. It’s a swing that’s never changed, Johnny, isn’t it? Yeah, it’s just phenomenal. What it really is is a product to watch, you know, up ahead at the sixth. Front left bunker. It’s a long bunker shot. And managed it pretty well. We saw the approach of Louis Tasen into Niner Carnusti. This for Birdie. Oh, look at that. Smooth as silk. Everything he does is just poetry. Here’s Michael Douglas. Go on. Not one in for us, Michael. Go on. Walk it in. Do a Justin Rose. Oh, get in there. We’ve seen Justin do one of those, didn’t we? At the RDER Cup. [Applause] That’s made his day. A little eagle putt. Looks like might want to move off his right a little bit. Come on. Turn. Yes. Right at the last minute. Thank you very much. Thank you indeed. And Dustin Johnson ties the lead in the Alfred Dunell Lynx Championship to co-leader Dustin Johnson. Flying tight little par three bunkers all around the green. Oh, caught the nudge. Brett Overman playing with Bob McIntyre. His second into the seventh at Cari. Oh, hello. Hello. Hello. Go on. Go on. Get it. Get it. Oh, what a moment. Get in there, Dom. You caught it. You’ve seen it from about 10t out. That was tracking. You little beauty. Oh, handshakes galore there. Bob McIntyre, Bill Murray getting involved. Yeah, for the two. Little bit of a nudge off the right hand bunker. Ran to pin height. to keep this run going. Goalkeeper. How was that missed? Follow that Bob McIntyre. It’s amazing how the game has changed even on links. So many irons at seven and just drive straight over the lot and go in with a wedge on the breakdown on every hole. The threat score they call it. Harry Hall through the rain at the long par three 16th. Oh, nice shot. Super shot. Anyone who finds that putting surface up the top tier has done incredibly well up at the green. McIntyre 6 ft for a three. Set up by the T-shot makes it Gerald Hatton to get to three under. Superb. And what a what an incredible moment, you know, personally for him to claim that half point that brought the victory. This is Harry Hall. He’s got an eagle putt. It’s interesting, isn’t it? It’s pouring with rain. Todd Clemens by the look of it. No, it’s not. It’s Joel Gerach. It’s close though. Similar. Uh not English, but Swiss. Just Just for your information, Todd’s actually at St. Sanders, but just to rub it in a little bit. That was a wonderful pop, wasn’t it, from uh not Toad Clemens, but Shaw Gerber. Shaw Gerber. I took a punt and it was wrong. There you go. To Andy Murray. I think Wayne better start practicing his coming down now, isn’t it? Oh, hello. What a shot indeed. AP one of the alltime winning jockeyies as we go to Hatton over at Cari who does find the birdie part. What a lovely way to finish the front line. Impressive stuff from Tier. Brooks Kev is having a good day. He’s just birded the 14th to go five under. Can he make it six? [Music] [Applause] Yes, he can. How about this? He probably should have been playing last week at the RDER Cup. It might be quite interesting to see if he goes ahead and wins this week. I think par four on the Kings Barns links, but not for him. Very nicely done. So I’m up to eat indeed. It is a golf swing that’s delivered much joy to Tommy Fleetwood certainly across this year in particular getting that first win on the PJ tourn as big as it gets. This is the young Spania Puj. He’s done well. Pin high on the tabletop here. Ninth Kings Barnes. Oh, lovely. Well, you are always thinking four, but you don’t see too many threes there. Couple of balls outside left. Come on, Tommy. Stroke it home. Oh, Ding. Yeah, beauty. A nice little run. [Applause] Trying to think which one he is. Fitzpatrick Bley part at 16. [Applause] Hoovering it in there for Fitz Patrick. Very nice. It’s minus five. Be 63. And it is. There it is. What a performance from Broom who’s just had a bit of a rough season of Olison. So, this is going for the black one, not the Chinese one. Yeah. Oh, go on then. Zip. Oh, a bit of a shindiggy dance around the flag. Thank you very much. Few weeks back, he’s stolen it from right under his nose by Mar Roy. It’s nice to see him coming back into some form. It really is hell of a talent. Logan, nice lad. Oh, what a shot. All singing and all dancing. Go P for Fleetwood to get to minus seven. Go on, Tommy. Knock it in. Pac is everything. It’s great pace. End over end. Good chance. That was We go to the man who’s playing some great golf over there at the old course at the minute, Matthew Jordan. Buddy put to get to minus 9. Good strict par four of the 13. Well done. What a roll he’s on. Sunny. Uh Bubba Watson. Found the fan at 17. Beautiful. What a shot that is. That’s what Bubba does, isn’t he? Great shaper of the ball. What’s this? 14 indeed. It is birthday pot left one or two shots out there but not on that occasion. That’ll put a big smile in his face, won’t it? No. Yep. Really going to be an issue for the Scotsman there. That was just exceptional execution. Now here’s Kart in the sand pit at 14. Beautifully done, Mr. 500. He said he’s been thinking about it for a couple of years. He was seeing how things were were going and he kind of had this on his radar as a a possible landmark event. Yeah, he actually went the other way, didn’t he? Just to try and take it up there to his certainly his more comfortable sort of go-to shot. Smith trying to play that left to right. If he carries over the shoulder of that bunker, it will feed down to the flag. If it lands on that shoulder, it will spit it more into the middle of the green. That’s excellent. But that you mean absolutely spot on. Couple of crackers. What a cracking first day we’ve had now. John second shot into 18. Like he’s rocking about a seven or a six iron there. Oh no. Oh, you lucky lucky boy. You don’t see that every day. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one bounce out of that. No, I seen the splash as well. So, it went down deep and came back out. It is like a Willy Wonka golden ticket, though. It really is, isn’t it? Such a special week. Bob McIntyre to uh put the finishing touch on what’s been a really good day. started with a bogey today but has come back very nicely after that and that is an opening 66 for the Scottish lefty. Yeah, nicely done. We enjoy watching Andy Murray out there today. And Matthew Jordan’s second shot at the home hole. We’ve seen this shot many a time, haven’t we? Have to pitch it on top. Be excused for pitching it 15 ft past. Oh. Oh, stay there. Stay there. That’s okay. That’s okay. That Oh, that’s unlucky. So, it’s worse. That’s six foot past the flag. If it’s it might have backed up a little bit, been a bit closer. He knows that. You could actually see it when Sheffller and and Rory were playing against each other. They looked broken, didn’t they? Absolutely broken. Well, the stress is one thing. Get in. In it goes. There you go. Sportsman of the day for me, KP. Sportsman of the day. You know how you don’t know how annoying it is to watch that. That is heartbreaking. Andy. Andy. No, I’m very happy for him because the the seagull actually was bigger than the dog in the background drill there. What a stellar r of goal 63. Look at that. Blemish free will have all week by the looks of it. What a lovely day’s golf we’ve had here at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. To watch another DP World Tour video, click here. not fair that someone can be that good at two different sports
I see that the interest in seeing the celebrities play is now totally lost on the media coverage. Sad.
