It’s going to be Andre Polan job off the top. It’s his 12th game of the season , his third start as we talked about a minute ago, first start went really well against Cincinnati. Kept the ball on the ground last time out against Houston struggled with his command. They took advantage of it would love to see him down in the zone here today. Line right to first and goal. He’s got that a bullet but hit to first and Blackmon is retired for out number 11 away for Ezekiel to pitch sky toward right center and that should be no trouble and it’s not two down for the Rockies here in the top of the first inning and ryan Mcmahon will come up. That one is on the ground right to first goal. He’s got that and Mcmahon rolls out in a good inning for Palante and on the hill for the Rockies making his seventh start of the year. He’s got three appearances out of the bullpen, the next pitch by Ty block and strike three called. It caught the inside corner, threw him a fastball and out number one is the strikeout Alec Burleson. Now this is in the air. Left field cave, dig it hard. Cave will get there. That was a long run. Two outs. Nobody on Paul Goldsmith, the veteran first baseman. There’s a line drive into center field. Goldie’s got a two out single, didn’t hit it hard but muscle that into the outfield. And there’s your first Cardinals baserunner and a nine game hitting streak. Nolan Arenado one for eight in the set six homers 30 RBIs for him. He served up the middle and that’s through for a base hit. Goalie will turn and burn. He’s on his way to third. Excellent baserunning for the Cardinals first baseman and back to back hits, puts runners at the corners in the opening inning. So here’s Gorman lefty versus lefty. Here’s the 01 and it’s in the air to center field, plenty of space out there for brett Doyle and no harm done. So it will be Elias Diaz and that is a base hit for Diaz. He’s raking. He does keep breaking Doyle stands in with a runner at first. Nobody out here’s the 22 and Doyle hits a ground ball through the right side. Diaz will stop at second. So back to back singles here in inning number two and the Rockies have a little something cooking with jake Cave coming up , slowly hit to short steps on the pillow and a strike to first is in time. So gets the double play. Diaz is at third two outs and Michael Togia is coming up, is swung on and Nest. He got him with an off speed pitch. He strikes out Togia Dillon Carlson. The switch hitter Carlson bats right side, there’s a line drive down the left field line that’s a hit. This could be two Carlson rounds first base, he’s headed the second base could be close and the throw not in time, a double for Dillon Carlson who continues to contribute offensively to the Cardinals. He’s had a very good series that brings up Brandon Donovan Doyle in right center tagging is Carlson and he’ll move up to third with one out. Great opportunity here for pedro Paez. He has four RB I on the season. Fly ball center Doyle will have to retreat Carlson at third. Will tag. There’s the catch the Rockies concede the run and Pas does his job. Donovan moved him over. Pedro brought him in and ST Louis leads it one. Well, this is an exciting time for the Color Rockies franchise and Adle Amador, he is their number one prospect and this is his first big league at bat. So here we go and his first swing is gonna resort the base hit Dylan Carlson could make the catch and he got to the stadium and there’s a who are giving him a nice round of they were cheering him even before that swing in that base. I got goosebumps. I got goosebumps right now because this is such a special time for a player. You’ve been dreaming of this moment your whole life and Then first pitch face it and here’s Greg Jones following him up. Now he’s not quite as young. He’s a former first rounder 22 is cut on and miss and has his second strikeout and first out brings up the top of the order that means Charlie Blackmon, he takes off kind of a delayed steal, high throw and he got himself a stolen bag, creative slide too. So let off boxes a base hit first career knock, first career steal attempt. Check safe. Here’s two outs with Ezekiel Tovar at the plate. Now flied out to right field his first time up and those five RBIs last night looking for one here try to change that today. That one on the ground that’s a fair ball throws on the run and the stretch is in time, great play by that. Saved a run, good play by Nolan Arenado. Big time play Colorado Rockies threatened but they don’t score 0 to 1. He flied out Burleson unloads and hammers that to right center field that’s well struck a leaping try. It is gone. It’s a home run will make it nine on the season for Alec Burleson gets himself a sinking top of the zone. We’ve seen a lot of balls in this series get to the warning, dragging muscles up, gets it out of here just out of the reach. It’s a big swing of the bat right there. Two on one out for CIA who singled the other way as well in his first trip, there’s that bunt down the first baseline, heck of a play by a block. He applies the tag to get Siani but advances the runners so a hit for Mason win scores a couple is zero for two with a couple of strikeouts today. This one into left field that’s going to get down for a base hit one run scores here comes pas streaking around third pro is not cut off Mason win with a two run hit makes it a four run game. Now, the Cardinals are looking like themselves a big lead for Palante. Love seeing that couple of at bats for Mason. Tough one struck out in those. This is a changeup, it’s down and away goes down, gets it right off the end of the bat to drive in a pair double. The lead Cardinals have runners at 1st and 2nd with one out. So Burleson bats, he’s one for three. Nice pick by to fires to second for one and the throw wide at first, that’ll ricochet off the front of the Cardinals dugout streaking home is pas he will score and another ricochet back toward the on deck circle for the Rockies. The Cardinals get a run on a bad throw from short Carleson will be safe at first and the Redbirds lead it five, nothing but got the ground ball that he wanted right here, but really tried to force this throw, put a little extra on it and sailed it. Good throw has turned into a bit of a snowball right there. Another one went to the dugout three outs to get for john King Tovar will lead off and Ezekiel Tovar swings at the first pitch and he lines it to deep left center field and it’s off the bottom of the wall and Tovar has his 20th double of the year. That’s a good start to the ninth one out and that will bring up a Diaz. He’s put together an all star first half. There’s an all star base hit and around third here comes Tovar and he’s going to score standing up a Diaz who was the all star MVP a year ago gets the Rockies on the board 5 to 1 with his 28th RB I and a second hit today right off the barrel of the bat. The Rockies will avoid the shutout. So one more man to get jake Cave the scheduled hitter, but Jacob Stallings will come on and pinch it for him. They got him in that ball game a much needed split for ST Louis, a 5 to 1 final and brad Oliver Marble’s plan could not have worked out any better in game four today.

  1. It feels like we did this on Tuesday against the Reds. Only positive is that we didn't get shut out. A split series is better than a lost series, but the bats were lack luster today, and you can't hold it down when they get on base so much. There's your first full week of June, and we're 8.5 games back from the Wild Card. It's not unrealistic if this team can stay disciplined, we've seen what these guys can do. Then again, it's only wishful thinking if pitching continues to be subpar in the later half of the game. We had to deal with that a lot this week. Welcome to the bigs, Adael! Congrats on your first hit (and props to the Cards fans for being good sports), hope to see you shine while Brenden rests up. Up north, to Minnesota we head next. Dakota's first this week, bring 'em your best. Sell the team. Go Rockies💜🖤

  2. Finally, Pages, a Cardinal who knows how to hit with a man on third and less than two out.

  3. "Now batting for Colorado, at the bottom of the lineup in the #8 hole…Ezequiel Tovar. Tovar the Eighth Man"🤣🤣

  4. THOSE LOVABLE LOSERS! THE COLORADO ROCKIES! AT LEAST THE ROCKIES DIDN'T LOSE A SERIES, FOR ONCE! HA! 19 GAMES UNDER .500! GETTING PAID MILLIONS TO PLAY TERRIBLE! LIVING THE DREAM! the dj
